    My Boston daughter just received back my granddaughter’s AG doll with a new wig and it looks terrific. The doll was sent to the AG ‘hospital’. It’s so sweet how you care for each and every one of your girls (and boys!). Great job. You’re an inspiration to many of us! Between you and my ten year old granddaughter, I’m now a small collector, too!!💕💕💕 Your doll looks amazing with all your effort...super job!

    I wish I would have seen this a month ago... I sent my childhood Julie doll off to AG to be fixed and I haven't heard anything. It's making me so anxious! Thank you for the video though, this will be helpful if I ever have another AG doll loose a leg lol

    I had an original Rebecca doll like this one. She was first edition and all original in pristine condition. I unfortunately sold her in a moment of weakness about a year ago. I do regret it as she is extremely rare in particularly in like new condition. You did a great job. Thanks for sharing.

    I really love this length of video! Also, she came out looking so good. It really speaks to the quality of German dolls that we're able to almost fully restore them even now. Also, in regard to the fabric softener I've had varied results with it. As a kid I gave my felicity a bunch downey dunks and I feel as if I didn't rinse it out well enough because the coating it left on her hair eventually made it so dry and frizzy. I'm sure though now, as an adult, if I were to do it again I'd be sure to really rinse it out to prevent any future issues though.

      Yeah, using fabric softener on doll hair is really not recommended as it leaves a residue that’s hard to get out. I like using a synthetic wig conditioner for doll hair.

    She came out really great, with that lovely dress. I recently washed my Blythe dolls hair, but did not have the confidence to take her wig cap off so I wrapped her up in cling film, taking care to cover all her eyes and all her mechanics. It worked really well. I also used the fabric conditioner on her hair, its great. Thank you for the vid

    I've never restrung a doll. I've only ever put in some hairponies as a temporary fix. But i love the process of cleaning up dolls. Its so satisfying and I find it relaxing. One day I'll tackle restringing an American girl doll but the temporary fix works for now. She turned out quite well.

      I've done the temporary fix with hair elastics as well, but it didn't work well for my poor Samantha from 1990 (white body) whose arm is floppy. I have a Lindsey (GOTY) I got from eBay and she is very loose as well even after I added the elastics.

    You did a great job! I have restrung some of my AGs and I can never get the string quite tight enough. I have read a blog somewhere that she used African Braid spray for real and synthetic wigs on her doll's hair. I have used it and it helps bring the "luster" back into the hair. Also AG company recommends using baking soda with water to make a paste to clean the vinyl.

    Where do you find your sting and is there a specific size I should get. Just eyeballing it looks more I should get it too thick or thin. Where would the clamps be found in Lowe's? Well, I guess I could just ask a Lowe's worker that question. Lol!
    She really is a beautiful doll. I love freshening and repaiaring dolls.

    I have a question I've been wanting to ask you. I purchased a Gotz doll. She seems to be vintage, white body and her name is Gretel. She is sort if like AG molly in hair color and she usually comes with classes, but face mold is different. Anyway, besides her cuteness, the tag on her dress was a curiosity to me. It said made in West Germany for Pleasant Company and she definitely is not a PC or even AG doll. Have you heard of Gotz dolls like this that have such a tag. Where they some kind if sample doll sent to the company when she were deciding the look of the PC dolls? I can find no information and wondered if you knew anything

    • @MunecasPoupeesDolls

    I have never understood the fabric softener because if you’re someone who wears wigs like me and I wear wigs daily but if you know anything about wigs, would you want to walk around in a wig that is covered in fabric softener, because fabric softener does not wash out of synthetic hair it just Glooze itself to the fibers and leaves a forever residue in the hair, and if you’re doing the fabric softener method, and then you proceed to play with these wigs they will not last now I’m pretty sure if your dolls are just on display and you only touch them every so often you’re good but imagine what that fabric softener is doing because like I said it does not wash out imagine what that fabric softener is doing to the vinyl as it just sits and collects dust. Yeah I guess that’s just something to think about.

    • @MiyaP_AG
      @MiyaP_AG Рік тому +1

      Also, the reason most washing machines have a fabric softener setting is because a normal wash on the washing machine does not get fabric softener out of your clothes. You have to deep spin that fabric softener out of your clothes, for it, not to ruin your clothes, another thing to think about.
