I know it got said very fast at the end, but I can recommend the work of the graphic novellist she mentioned, Marjane Satrapi. Her work, Persepolis, in graphic novel form AND the film she made of it really helped me appreciate the beauty, tragedy, and complexity of Iran. Told in a personal stories about herself and her family all the way from the days BEFORE the Shah of Iran was installed by western governments looking to control oil, through the Khomeni revolution, and into current times...in exile by herself in Europe.

Once my sister and I fully covered with proper hejab were taken by these morality guide to a station only because someone called on us that we were laughing while walking on the street. Yes we were talking and laughing but not loud or inappropriately. The worst part was the way we were yelled at and treated like animals but we knew we had to stay quiet and not talk back. That was the first time we started to see Christiane's international reports from the war zones and fell in love with her! Now I already admired Christiane Amanpour because when I was in high school I used to watch all sorts of news media well except Fox News but I used to watch a lot of news keep up with the world ahead of me so I would always watch CNN MSNBC ABC everything you name it and I've seen a few of her interviews and I love the directness of her interviews she got to the point she didn't beat around the bush with anybody that She interviewed so to see that she's done this she just shows me yet again why she's an amazing person but also anchor. I mean they wanted her to wear a headscarf in New York for the interview. New York! Are you serious Iranian rule doesn't even follow into New York what the heck?!

She is a great reporter and does not both sides her stories. We need more journalist like her in front of cameras.

Yes, she is one of the reasons Fox hates CNN. Fox "reporters" don't hold a candle to her

Christiane is an excellent interviewer and her response was spot in. Her last sentence was priceless!

It's amazing and somewhat ironic that women in India and France are fighting for their rights to wear the hijab and in Iran women are fighting to not wear it. The difference between Iran and the others is that Iran is forcing women to wear it when in Islam it is required to wear the hijab and dress modestly however one should not be forced to wear it. The sad thing about this is that Iran is getting so much coverage while India and France are battling this with little to no media/world wide coverage. Justice for the 22 year old lady.
