I am kicking myself that I can't make anything without shine and foil right now as I do not like taking the photographs of them, but obviously that hasn't stopped me lol.
Gorgeous! I love the colors you chose and those pops of gold are heavenly. Must be something in the air, I was just playing with my alcohol inks too! So fun!
Really loved this video and technique. I have decided not to get a glimmer machine etc.... so it was so fun to see a use of foil without and special machine etc.... Thanxs so much!!!!!!!
ooh also tiffany solario used a dryer of some sort that looked fabulous..... but I don't do enough of this style of background to buy another tool lol.
Hi Connie, it actually sticks to the 'nearly dry' alcohol ink. That's why I had to wait for it to partially dry. But I was thinking about trying a glue pen here and there if I wanted to be more specific about where it sticks. Hope this makes sense.
So beautiful Therese. Something relaxing about alcohol inks, a pop of foil takes it to the next level. Thank you for your inspirational colour choices. Take care. T x
Very cool. I still haven't jumped on the alcohol ink bandwagon. It's on my list for this year though. lol As is a foiling machine. I've been enabled for so long and so many times, I just decided to give in. lol
I totally hear you, I was sold when I found out that I could use it with my 'regular' dies and die cuts too! Also alcohol inks, you don't need to buy specific ones, if you have copic or Altenew refills, you can use those instead... dual purpose in my book!
Wow. Bloody beautiful Therese! I want to experiment on a canvas. I’m going to use a varnish to make the canvas sealed first. I’m going to need a lot of blending solution tho which will turn out quite expensive. Would rubbing alcohol do the same thing? 🇦🇺❤️
You could try Isopropyl alcohol which I found in the handyman section of Big W... could be at Bunnings too? But yes it should work and be a cheaper option. I think you would actually enjoy something like acrylic pouring (I think that is what it's called) but that gives amazing results too. ps sorry for my late reply but for some reason this comment went into my spam folder..... hugs x
I never have any control over alcohol inks lol. Though I did think they looked a little muddy where they met in a few places so I didn't push them into each other too much for that reason.... hope this makes sense?
Beautiful cards! I love doing the alcohol ink backgrounds but I always think the recipient doesn’t know how much time it took so I end up covering it up with other stuff. I have to tell my brain that it doesn’t matter but I do think of putting a “price” on the back! 😆
And they are fun to make too lol. Maybe, you could send them to your card making friends, they will certainly know and appreciate them! Thanks so much Christine!
Gosh, what lovely cards and the gold foil looking like it's part of a rock formation...awesome!
Glad you like them Judith, they are so much fun to make and each panel is unique!
Just simply elegant. Great cards

Ink blending tool ? So cool 🤓
It's the best one I've ever used (I have some arthritis in my hands so it's perfect)!
ooh also tiffany solario used a dryer of some sort that looked fabulous..... but I don't do enough of this style of background to buy another tool lol.
Those are really lovely cards, Therese! I am ashamed to say I still haven’t played with my alcohol inks yet, my bad!

Wow, gorgeous
Thank you! 😊
Very nice, I’m confused about the gold you added. What did it stick to?

Great idea Therese! Love the cards and thanks for sharing!
thanks so very much Lynn!
Linda,NZ here, lovely cards, can you just use glue to add the foil?
Yes you can, I like the finer style of glue like the Pen from Altenew!

Thank you, and merry Christmas ❤️🇦🇺
These are beautiful! I’m surprised that when the pink and blue met, there was little to no creation of purple! Was that intentional?
