My 91 sedan has been sitting in the backyard for almost 2 years now. The d series still in it and a b20 waiting for me to do something with it. It seems very daunting to do with my lack of experience, but you make it seem very simple. With how the world has been recently, I forgot that building cars was almost meant to be a group activity.
Changed the timing belt on my EK yesterday. Your walkthrough video was very helpful. Put about 40 miles on it afterward and it runs amazing, so i guess i got it right !
Good stuff as always. Reminds me of the 90 EF sedan I had, it was auto with the blue interior also. I use the wooden movers dolly's from harbor freight to roll longblocks and swaps around. Looking forward to seeing more!
Great video Jon. Its crazy to think the EF chassis has really became a true classic Honda. Cant wait to see it up and running! Off topic, any word on ASR track time?
Hey man, super excited to see more progress on this Z1 build! Also to note about running the incorrect manifolds on the Z1, when I got my Z1 it had the incorrect manifolds just like yours does, I put it in the car and only managed to get around a 25 mpg average. Once I swapped to the correct VX manifolds I am now seeing in the 40-55 mpg range depending on driving habits with my Si transmission. I also had extremely poor drive-ability with the incorrect manifolds, I'm curious how your's will perform.
@@GarageBuiltHondas That's awesome! These VX specific parts are getting harder and harder to find, so getting a VX part donation is like getting gold haha
@@GarageBuiltHondas wow, I can only imagine the amount of vx parts that have been scrapped due to people not knowing anything about the vx and just wanting the parts gone.
In all honesty, no power steering in the ef isn't bad at all. As long as you're moving the slightest bit then its fine. Thats how my ef is and I love it, feels more natural and more responsive than power steering
