Great video thanks. I don't have anything with 2 motors yet, one motor is bad enough lol. This also helps me understand my flysky transmitter like yours and how to mix etc. It is so much better to watch you explain things like this than me trying to read and understand what they are talking about in the manual. Much appreciated and Happy Flying

Just a thought Andrew,, instead of using ch4, rudder can you use ch1 so the 3 mix supplements the movement of the ailerons? I have a tricky build that may need this. I think mostly caused by not using a matched pair of ESC's though. I have set an offset as descibed on your video but still yet to maiden and I'm wondering how linear the offset will be as I open the throttle!
Only just seen the reply, thanks. Maiden was a disaster. Massive thrust difference. ua-cam.com/video/F0n_xcXAso8/v-deo.htmlsi=jfRsgR80PDXO0 I now have a matching pair of esc's though that didn't solve the difference in thrust issue. Sorted in the end. It was caused by a poor connection on one phase, (ie, one wire of the three) on one motor. Quick solder job and they both ran the same (with matched ESC's as well.) Video will be out soon on the fix. @@AndrewNewton
Hey Andrew Thanks for your reply.I have set up your recommended mixes on a FS i6X in Mode 2, and find that the motors start running immediately the Tx is switched ON, at zero throttle on Channel 3. Looking at both motors PWM inputs to the two ESC boards on an oscilloscope, I can see that they are inphase, and the same amplitude, but the pulse width is already at 60% duty cycle at zero throttle, and rises to 80% duty cycle at full throttle on the stick on Channel 3. There is nothing connected to Channel 4, but it is included in Mixes 2 and 3. Operating the throttle stick in the Channel 4 (Yaw or E-W) directions, gives about another 10% duty cycle to the appropriate motor, and it speeds up a little. I have been fiddling with the End Points of Channels 3 and 5, trying to get the pulse width to go from 0% to 100%, without any luck. If I connect an external PWM generator to the ESC inputs, I get a full range of RPM, increasing with the duty cycle of the generated PWM signal, from 0% to 100%. So the motors and ESCs are OK. It's likely to be settings on the Tx, I believe. Any suggestions please? Regards Ken McCallum
Hi Andrew nice video. Please I can’t find any information about the best distance between twin motors using as differential for rudder. Is it better as close as possible to que fuselage center or can I space them for more close turns. Can you please help me? Thank you!!!
Thanks. Diff thrust is VERY effective so the motors don't need to be far apart for it to work. I would go by what looks good with maybe 50mm clearance for the props
Hey Andrew Just watched your video on differential thrust. I will try it out on a land vehicle with two non steerable front wheel motors, to achieve steering. One question - did you set the Rx output to PWM and S Bus or i Bus? Cheers Ken
Do you know if it's possible to set up a mix so that flipping a switch completely reverses one of the other channels? Eg. reverse pitch for flying inverted for long periods, is what I want to do.
Your video is fantastic .I am building a hovercraft with 2 motors for propulsion .I want to use differential thrust for turning .If i use reversible escs ,will i be able to use this transmitter to reverse the direction of both motors ? Your reply is much appreciated
I want to know If you want to insert a gyro, can you use the Mix control program? We didn't plug the signal cable into the channel. Gyro's rudder, but using a method Mix that you teach Will the gyro work normally? will control channel 4 Rudder too?
Great work and presentation! I use your settings for my two motors bait boat. Is any possibility when I stering my boat one motor go forward and the other backwards?
You forgot to mention to pull the positive wire from one of your esc plugs going to the receiver, you will be doubling the power to receiver and sending mixed signals to it and stand the chance of releasing the magic smoke.

How do I create (1) Launch mode on SW-D and Speed/Cruise/Termal mode useing SW-A with cruise mode being the middle position. Hope this clear and thanks for your input. Cheers. P.S. Hi Andrew. I am currently setting this up on a twin engined plane I am building. When I am at full left or right rudder, it only puts the respective motors to about 20% thrust on low rates and at most 50% in high rates. Do you know why this is happening, and how I can fix it? Thanks, Bo
SOLUTION to KILL Rudder / throttle mix control. Example in Assign switches Set Fly mode SWC (same as my throttle hold SWC switch) Then in Dual rates Ch4 rudder and switch SWC to sport (or Normal) with one Rate set at 0. Now the ch4 rudder will not work in one of the rates and not mix with the motors and motors disabled with either rudder or throttle. You can use different switches for whatever reason.

Hi I'm using this transmitter and same mix in this video I want to be able to cut out the throttle on a switch for when I'm steering how would I do this ? Thanks
