Dispatch notification participation

The transition to a low carbon economy will involve a significant increase in the levels of variable renewable generation in the New Zealand power system. Managing this variability in the power system will require the coordination of resources including demand response (DR) and distributed energy resources (DER).
Real-time pricing will introduce the Dispatch notification participation mechanism to allow small scale aggregators of DR and DER to signal their price sensitivity in the wholesale market schedules and allow the market system to efficiently coordinate these resources to manage generation variability.
