I had such a productive day and I’m realizing it’s because it’s the first time in months I’m not trying to wade through a swamp of anxiety about the election. We really didn’t deserve Biden, he’s really outperformed any and all expectations I had for him in 2020. I didn’t think it was possible to believe there were still genuinely good people in politics - but seeing someone voluntarily let go of the reins of power for the benefit of the country is really pretty amazing.

Right! Like her saying “you may clap” implies that some people started, but stopped. So she just encouraged what they were already looking to do; like a performer on stage going “are you ready to rock” to a crowd already screaming lol. The “please clap” was someone begging for a silent crowd that obviously isn’t moved to clap so it could be a moment lol. Conservatives are already trying to claim what she said as “awkward” like ppl can’t easily conclude it’s not the same lol.

And for everyone willing to put out a yard sign, there has to be 100 that feel the same way. The middle was thirsty for an alternative. Now they have one. I love the Obama folks (obviously, I’m here), but I’ve been really disgusted by the public flogging of the man, especially one who has done so much. I work with the grassroots in North Carolina and I can tell you that people there - a ton of Black voters who are all infuriated with the party (not an understatement) - are very emotional and angry, including at Obama himself for not speaking up for Joe (just letting you know what they are telling me). They love Joe Biden for the reasons you mentioned. They are behind Kamala but not as excited as twitter would suggest. They are worried because they understand the double challenge for her. I myself cried because I thought it was nothing short of an elite takeover. Left a bad taste in my mouth, especially that everyone is now fawning over Biden as if they didn’t basically pull the guy off the stage. It is being viewed as very disingenuous. I’m just telling you what I am seeing in the field (I’m on the ground, knocking doors). I hope that people reach out to the Biden voters who love the guy, because I’ve been surprised how much. The work continues, but a lot of outreach is needed.
