- We've all heard the age old idea that white wedding dresses represent purity, and virginity. Unfortunately, this is not why wedding dresses are white. In this video I give a little history on color and style of wedding dresses and why this "tradition" is really a trend.

I like the idea that I can wear something nice and more than once. I am Asian, I prefer red.
I love the idea of red! Tina Turner told everyone at her wedding to wear white head to toe. Then she walked out in a red dress. It was so stunning! xoxo
I am from Eastern side,and there is a myth like white and black both can't be wear in wedding because its bad luck.Mainly here people prefer red and now days many girls choose other colours.My mother wore purple in her wedding and i will also choose blue for my the day.

my mom wore purple at heres, I want like a ancient Mediterranean style wedding dress because they’re super gorgeous. I’ve always been into old stuff like that.

Purple is a very regal color and would be beautiful! xoxo
White is considered to be reflecting everything and black is considered to be absorbing everything where I live, so the two colours are forbidden in weddings. People mostly wear red. But my mother wore silver and so did my grandma's. I know it's not compulsory to wear white at the wedding but I've always drawn to imagine myself in white, it would be the influence of our society's image of wedding dress. I might also wear silver in my wedding like women in my family 🤍
Oh btw I don't understand why green would be bad luck. It's a beautiful colour and it shows growth and fertility. who doesn't want that in their marriage?
I heard btw I haven’t watched the whole video but there was one person like a Victorian queen or somebody and they wore a white dress and now there is only white dresses and sometimes other colors but they are only white, I want a peach dress with the bottom being red in the future but I’m guessing that’s going to be hard to get

Also another very good question. Why do the shoulders areas and usually the sleeves of wedding dresses have to be uncovered?
I think this is just a style choice. In the US some churches require shoulders and arms to be covered so dresses are made to cover them or the bride wears a small jacket while in the church. xoxo

What did the ancient Roman's wear?
Obviously it's harder to know since there aren't pictures.

The woman in that is wearing green but she might not be at her wedding, but rather some time afterwards since she sort of looks pregnant.

Yep. My boyfriend and I have been living together for a while and he says we won't be fooling anyone if I wear white to our wedding. Well, anyone who comes to our wedding knows that I'm a teacher, so he's right.
