We lost our 17 year old dog last year. My oldest son said it was like the end of his childhood bc Milo had been there most of his life. We all miss him. Dogs are wonderful furry family.
Very sorry for your loss. I know the feeling. 😢 My household lost a dog that was bonded with my niece and nephew since they were first brought home from the hospital. I can STILL remember the day our Autumn (who was a Golden Retriever, for context) first met my nephew. She sniffed him and was awestruck with him, always wanting to be by his side where she could, and was the same way with my niece a year after. Sadly, the dog passed in November of 2021, 8 years after my nephew's birth and roughly 7 years after my niece's. She had a tumor on her heart and her heart gave out. They were both devastated and heartbroken, as if a part of them died with Autumn. 😭
I’m sorry for your loss. I was blessed to have my Tuffi (Border Collie-Blue Heeler) for 16 years. The grief is unending, but it lessens with time. We can find comfort in knowing we gave them long, happy lives filled with love.
I know the feeling- the dog I grew up with died when I was 18- nearly half a century ago now, but still remember him so fondly. I won't say 'RIP Patch' 'cos I hope he is playing wonderful games and enjoying endless walks through squirrel filled woodlands with my dear parents and many other friends, human and canine.
*every dog should have another dog. The dog can't go everywhere with the boy and inevitably they will end up in the house alone without another dog or some other animal to keep them company. This is why pets become over dependent on humans and can have terrible separation anxiety.

Dogs are often wonderfully protective of very young children, even dogs who are not generally social with adults. They also let little kids do things (such as pull their ears) that they would never allow an adult to do. Wonderful how this baby and pup interact
true I have a mini sheep doodle that was abused from her previous owner when I had got her sheep had not been bathed in a month had 2 parasites and was deadly afraid of people especially. However she is now very protective of me and my family when ever any of my neices were upset or crying she is always there to cheer her up or lay with them when they were sick

The unconditional love any dog gives you is something so special, unique, its hard to put it into words, but this video shows it magnificiently. I grew up with a Poodle since I was a baby and will never forget her, she was like my big sister. I'll always keep adopting dogs no matter what, they always love you (in their own different ways!) I cried when I saw this. I had grew up with 2 cats and a dog. I had the best childhood EVER!!! Having to put them down one by one was the hardest thing ever!!! But I kept it together and was with them till the end.

My parents got a boxer puppy shortly before I was born. From the moment I came into the world, she was glued to me. She would sleep under my cot, sit next to my high chair, and let me lie on her when I played on my play mat. I would hug her, and I’m sure they weren’t the gentlest in the beginning, but she would just nuzzle me back and kiss me. As I got older, she would follow me everywhere. She made sure I didn’t fall over, and if I tried climbing, her head was always under me, making sure I didn’t hurt myself. When I was around five or six years old, I woke up to find her unable to move her back legs. We took her to the vet and she had hip dysplasia, as well as kidney failure (common problems in her breed). There was nothing they could do for her except give her a peaceful sleep. I remember crying for ages, and I just lay on her in the vet waiting room, whispering reassurances to her as I snuggled her for one last time. Apparently, I lay on that floor for three hours. I lost my best friend that day, and the bond I had with her was so special. She still has a place in my heart to this day. Every child deserves a bond like that with a furry best friend. I can see that Kobe is such a special boy, this video was adorable ❤

Kobe is absolutely brilliant with Robert. Really well behaved and patient. Labradors are really good all round dogs they’re great at everything. They are great with children and babies they are great swimmers they are used as sniffer dogs and used as guide dogs.

I cried when I saw this. I had grew up with 2 cats and a dog. I had the best childhood EVER!!! Having to put them down one by one was the hardest thing ever!!! But I kept it together and was with them till the end.

My parents got a boxer puppy shortly before I was born. From the moment I came into the world, she was glued to me.
She would sleep under my cot, sit next to my high chair, and let me lie on her when I played on my play mat. I would hug her, and I’m sure they weren’t the gentlest in the beginning, but she would just nuzzle me back and kiss me. As I got older, she would follow me everywhere. She made sure I didn’t fall over, and if I tried climbing, her head was always under me, making sure I didn’t hurt myself.
When I was around five or six years old, I woke up to find her unable to move her back legs. We took her to the vet and she had hip dysplasia, as well as kidney failure (common problems in her breed). There was nothing they could do for her except give her a peaceful sleep.
I remember crying for ages, and I just lay on her in the vet waiting room, whispering reassurances to her as I snuggled her for one last time. Apparently, I lay on that floor for three hours.
I lost my best friend that day, and the bond I had with her was so special. She still has a place in my heart to this day. Every child deserves a bond like that with a furry best friend.

Absolutely loved this!!! I had the same experience growing up with two cats and a dog. They taught me the most important lessons in life. The last lesson they taught me was the hardest. How to be there for a friend when they're crossing over. Never a dry eye.
