- I'm Satisfied with Just a Cottage below, Mansion just over the hilltop. Acapella. Calvary Mennonite Youth Group Singing in a Methodist Church in Dover TN.
Wonderful rendition of the song. Praise God for the Blessed assurance he has given us in Jesus.
I love this beautiful choir singing songs I grew up with.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful and encouraging song with us!!! I used to sing this song as a child and remember when my parents (both now deceased) sang and taught it to us as we did our chores. This song helped me to remember those sweet memories! Thanks again :)
Love these old songs!! They are beautiful singers.
Beautiful singing yes, but SMILE! Show the world through outward appearance you're HAPPY Good saved you! One young lady stands out like she's happy. YOU'VE GOT A REAL MANSION IN HEAVEN! SMILE!!!! YOU GET TO SEE IT ONE DAY! That makes ME smile. Thank you Lord.
I wish churches, today, sang with the same JOY in their hearts. I always say "Yes! I can change the world - one prayer at a time." You do it with beautiful song and praise.
+Gladys Martin They'd rather be entertained for an hour than worship God the way the Bible says we should.
Beautiful song.... My grandmothers most favorite song... She is now living in her mansion over the hilltop
We sing this at my church all the time. I love this song!
Great Song
It's hard for me to sing this hymn because it is making demands of God (I want a gold one that's silver lined). I just want to get to heaven, I don't care what I have when I get there.
I'll just take that line as an expression of a child (in this case, me) with a blessed hope of thing it doesn't understand yet
Why is it so hard? All you’re saying is you want what’s promised in the gospels.
I'm glad Jesse said that because I agree. The song talks about being satisfied with what he has given us here on earth but once we get to heaven we need the best of the best. In the song it says But in that city where the ransomed will shine, I WANT a gold one that's silver lined. Saying want is kind of demanding.
I WANT a mansion, a robe and a crown. Another part of the song where there is want. I don't like the son because it is talking all about the things we are gonna get when we get to heaven, or WANTING it. That's just my view.
But walk the streets of Gold! Amen we serve a mighty & Loving God,
It absolutely does no such thing
I heard no request of God in the line. There's a difference in what we want and asking God for it. Don't be so dramatic. Good understands the longing of the heart and the sincerity with which you sing.
