This is absolutely beautiful! And with the recording techniques they had at the time the band would have a run through or two and then laid the track down. Wouldn’t have had months to rehearse tracks beforehand so this is very much Stewart’s imagination captured as it happened. Stunning
I’m always looking for new drummers to look up to, but I haven’t found anyone better than Stewart. It’s not even about his technique, it’s the confidence he has when playing that makes me want to go practice all day.
It might be worth checking out Neil Peart if you haven’t already. He’s my favorite drummer and I definitely love his style and attention to detail in a song. He and Stewart were great friends too!
@@haydnbogroff8575 yes! Neil is also one of my favorites, I really meant Stewart being the best on his pop/ rock, new wave genres. Neil played other kind of genres more oriented to progressive.
The sheer rawness of this recording, an album the Band finalised in a matter of days, exposes this man’s pure talent, he almost improvises every one of these Police tracks never playing the same way twice, the ending of this from around 3 mins is epic, with the hat work plus those little double splash hits, brilliant…
In my opinion Copeland was the drummer of the 80's. Like Bonham, I never heard him play the same song the same way twice. Basically a Reggae band that fooled the world into thinking they were listening to pop
I saw him a few weeks ago with The Police Deranged For Orchestra, and he still got it at the age of 70! I just sat there and watched with my mouth open.
THIS IS SAVANT STUFF RIGHT HERE! Folks that don't understand musical time and space will say that he's overplaying. He is microscopically sliding into cracks while driving the song with precision timing. Guess it makes sense that he and Neal Peart became close in later years.
Often the ISO tracks are taken from Rock Band or Guitar Hero… others have used software and filters, in any case this is amazing to hear, one of my favourite Police songs.
Greatest drummer to grace modern music. Articulate and ferocious. My biggest influence.
Probably one of the best hi-hat rhythmist to ever grace the kit!
Very distinctive hi-hat playing on every song performed!!
Spot on 👍
I am pretty sure that for one of the tracks on "So", Peter Gabriel brought him in JUST to play hi-hats!! Red Rain possibly.
Most tasteful and graceful drummer in my opinion.
when a drum alone makes you wanna dance.
Best & coolest drummer by far on planet earth!
This is art.

Personal favorite. Stewart’s influence on me and my playing is beyond measure. I wish I could take him to lunch and tell him.
I'd buy their all albums drums only❤
Isolatta Mondatta, Ghost in The Isolated Machine, Isolandos D'Amour etc...🤭☺️😇

My favorite as well. I love how he uses space, or silence, to emphasize a change. Sort of the Jeff Beck of drums.
@@haydnbogroff8575Stewart is better
He had his own technique, he held the sticks his own way, an unorthodox orthodox grip as he calls it. Truly a drumming genius

Stewart Copeland is a musical genius in his own right. Hyper percussive since he was a kid. And brilliant. Recognize the skills
Great job isolating this stuff, HIGHLY useful for figuring it out!
Check out the live version of this song from Frejus, France.

“I couldn’t name a reggae drummer” - Stewart Copeland
@@WhyTheHorseface lol.
A reggae punk rock pop jazz funk world band
They weren't a reggae band. They blended several genres
Those rim knocks are friggen POWERFUL. Damn.
He is one hell of a musician.
He has so much energy and that exciting ever-so-slightly pushed feel even though it's in time.
Fantastic.
Una maravilla , que groove tiene Stewart por Dios , ese touch es único ...es un reloj suizo !!...
Love it!.... Now please do "Man in a suitcase"...👈

One of the BEST to ever do it!! He’s at the top of my list but I’m probably biased lol.
Stewart masters the bass pedal & hi hat like nobody else! Pure awesomeness 🎶👍
Magic. Pure magic.
The best drummer 👏👏👏👏👏
Pure genius
A talented genius.
Contact would be a great one to isolate
Amazing.
Absolutely love this track and to hear the drums isolated is awesome 🥁 👌
Thanks, buddy! Any other track you'd like to have isolated?
@@isolatedfavorites5094 you're welcome, off the top of my head how about walking on the moon ?
@@JaykleMusic It's already up on youtube by another user. I think Demolition Man would be really cool to hear isolated.
If he can get with the right bunch of fellows this drummers got a future!
😂
Clean.....🙌
Rhythmic excellence. Pure & (not so) Simple.
It's not simple at all
The Master
Solid
Quel drummer......
Could you do ' One World' from GITM in my opinion Stewart at his finest . Thank you .
Yeah, I agree- Do "One World"...
I agree as well. One World is my favourite Stewart track ever
So fking solid.
😊👍Funny..
The drummer who plays melodically

hihat at 2:08 🤑
Sending out an S.O.S
is there iso tracks of the vocals , synth, guitar ect , i can play to?
Uncaged
So filthy
It's a fake! The video NEVER ONCE synced up with the audio. There's something fishy going on here, and I aim to get to the bottom of it.
That's Copeland for sure dude, there's no other like him
@@ericgold8500 it’s a joke
