I have a 2016 ST and liked the sound too at first (sounds almost the same). But commuting daily on the Autobahn, it got loud and annoying.
Fact is, the euro spec ST do no have the sound symposer thing but rather produce fake sound via the speakers,
I used Forscan to disable the sound and I do not really miss it but it's gotten so much quieter in the car.

@@danieldaniel1210 nah, it was just fake sound and hiding the turbo noises. currently saving for some bolt-ons. exhaust will be the last bit but definitely considering one.
ive got the 2020 mk4 st and it has the fake motor sound but its very nice i think.. it sounds realy real to me. and it feels good . so...u can hear the turbo btw ! :) im happy with it!
Will be funny to see a l/100km autobahn statistic for all those cars for the sheer laugh and extra info.

It's pretty common these days. A lot of cars with digital dashboards show the gear, in a manual.
the Mustang 4 cil inlne has the same engine 2.3 ecoboost but with 330 hp, maybe this car Focus stage 1

But i think it also depends on how you define "Fake" sound.
I would consider Audis cars as fake sound. There you can even switch from V8 sound to V10, to V12 etc.
On the Ford Fiesta ST at least, it is the real engine sound which is feeded into the audio system to make it louder inside.

My all stock 2012 Focus ST mk3 has no problem hitting that speed. You'd need some space for it to go that fast, but it definitely can

@@flatboxer You can just tune out the limiter. Did it on my MK3 Stage 3. Unfortunately, K03 turbo goes out of breath pretty fast on the high revs.

Ford really stepped up their game. Fiesta ST, Focus ST. All best in their class by far. And their build quality stepped up insanely the last 15 years.
Even Audis i drove in had cheaper interior quality.
Is the Audi S3 in the same class?

It is in the class of Golf GTI, Hyundai i30N, Seat Leon Cupra and such.
Just sold my MK 3 RS and that pile of shit was literally rusting away. Build quality is very poor. There's no way you can associate quality with rusting out after the first 2 years of ownership. That being said, mechanically it was perfect but that's useless when the car is rusting away.

@@kw2519 cars I've smoked in a 2013 tech package speed3 (100% stock, 100k miles): newer GTI, GLI, WRX, Ecoboost Mustang convertible, R/T Charger. Ran neck and neck with new Audi A4, 1st gen Golf R, Kia Stinger, older BMW 335 Sedan on rims (not sure it was running right bc shouldve smoked me).
Theres plenty of cars driven on this channel that are on the slower end of the scale. Still fun. If you dont get that, then you have lots to learn.

Only suggestion I'd like to give to whomever owns or will ever own a turbo petrol like this one, don't use the turbo too much to gain speed in the mid range or make a pass, you will wear it down much quicker, like at 150kph don't just pull in 5th gear, drop it gain about 1000rpm and then go back to 5th, your car will thank you

What nonsense are you on about, its already on boost at that speed, it doesn't cause any additional wear on the turbos. Trying to go Wide open throttle at low rpm, high gear is a recipe for disaster, not at 90+mph/150k. Drop down if you want max acceleration, not because the turbo will wear out more lol.

Suspension is not good either judgind by the bounciness of things and the sound insulation is horrific above 180kph. The 4th gen of Focus is an involution of the 3rd gen.

Funny i got a mk3.5 facelift with 280hp and 500+nm and in my 4th gear i can hit 205km/h while this mk4 needed a 5th gear for it

Its quite slow for 280hp, its slower than a GLI or GTI with 228hp which yeah I know they are underrated, but this is probably overrated.

it's not comparable, between auto box and meca box even the focus rs mk3 is beaten by the golf 7 R
The huge digital speedo deceives the eye a bit. If there was a big analogue scale you wouldn’t think this was that slow, I believe.
Its just a fat car, my r56 cooper s with just an intake and an exhaust is nearly this fast, and it should be putting out arround a 190 hp. 400 kilos less go a long way. Actually looking at the acceleration numbers, I dont think this car is faster.
Looks slow. Like a stock Golf 7 GTI.
Check the "GPS scoreboard" in the description to compare. It's even quicker than the mk8 GTi with a dsg.
