I don't know if the new 1s skates are better than MX3'S. Sorry I can't help you choose with that, but I have the MX3 skates, and this is what I did. I switched the LS Fusion to LS4 steel, and switched the Form Fit skate bed to the new Bauer Speed Plate. Essentially it's an upgraded pair of MX3'S. It's now like lighting a cigarette with a blow torch! Amazing difference, and highly recommend if you have MX3 skates. You will be able to save a few hundred dollars by doing this. Good luck ladies and gentlemen.
There is no real dramatic change to the skates. I like going back to the old style tongue with the new liner, that is really cool and looks alot more comfortable. The tongue on the MX3's were not my preference and not very comfortable, however they are alot less bulky than the new 1S tongue looks.. maybe next year they can try to bridge the two designs
The black backdrop is really sleek. Love it. Quick question: how's the fit on this skate? I have a pretty wide foot, so I'm in the market for a wider fitting boot.
rediciously narrow i had a medium to wide foot and had a pair of these in ee and had to take them back and get the nexus. dont waste your time their stupidly narrow

So I'd like to know how to buy the right holder and blades for my skates so I can save a bit on the price. I don't know if there are sizes or other things to consider. A bit about the skates: I'm wearing junior 5.5 and I use the ccm tacks skates (bought them 2 years ago).
Thanks! The sizes of the holder should be written somewhere on the holders themselves . i.e. mine are 272 Light Speed Edge holders. Look closely on the holders and try to find writing (probably in white) which should show you the size. Otherwise, just ask a local store what size 5.5 JR holders are.
It will last for practically the same time. These skates aren't intended to last a life time, they're aimed at high performance. Most Pros will go through multiple pairs of skates per season.

Kassius Kler the 1s is stiffer, has cflex technology, 37.5, fully composite outsole and injected stability lacing system, your better off with the mx3 because it's better than the s190
The S190 is the same quarter package as the 1S, the differences are slight between the two. Both have the abrasion resistant patches, both are fully composite outsoles. The differences are the tongue, the tendon guard (S190 is same as MX3), liner material, S190 doesn’t have the vented outsole, S190 are traditional eyelets, and has the LS3 runner instead of LS4. I personally would rate the S190 as a step between the 1S and MX3.
Aluminum/steel mix?! They're going to get dull quickly, require sharpening more offer and also, wear down faster because aluminum is not as hard a metal. Try taking a grinding wheel to aluminum and see what happens.
I have the Nexus 8000 and yes, the aluminum portion on those blades never touch the ice...but this guy says the new blades are an allow of aluminum and stainless steel no?
I don't think the Bauer fusion steel was very well received. It's very expensive and there are a lot of reports of it being very inconsistent. I think most moved onto LS3/LS4 as a result.

Doesnt it depend on WHERE your foot is wide? Supreme & Nexus have similar width in fore & mid-foot I thought, just snug in the heel on Supreme.

contemplating a 1s. great video. only put off is the interchangeable tongue stiffness. will this degrade quicker over time that a normal apx tongue ?

The difference is that the APX2 Pro has poron xrd foam in the backhand and a shorter, sewn in cuff.

I caused the quater package to fold on my s180 skates. Would the 1s's be able to hold up better? Yes I tie my skates tight and I look after them
