I'm glad that the cartoon "Eleanor Rigby" didn't suffer the same fate as the person who's mentioned in the song. I used to be afraid to hear this song when I was a kid. But after though examination of the song lyrics, I was able to understand the theme as I had gotten older. This is definitely a bonafide masterpiece from the Fab Four. 😎👍🎉🎊
I love how this cartoon captures how both John and Paul had such loud, passionate personalities all along. Just arguing over which way they should go and that bit in the beginning there - it was pretty cool! On another note, this song was the one that got me into The Beatles all those years ago. What a classic!
This cartoon has a really nice ending to it in particular showing how music can spread happiness and positivity between people and a neighbourhood as well with Eleanor Rigby, Father Mackenzie and the other more elderly characters in the town where Eleanor lives and between the young children and I think it shows how understanding the two generations are with each other so for example with Eleanor Rigby, the elderly and often lonely adults sometimes and the younger children coming together for a party at the end and I think the children just need to know more about Eleanor Rigby to be more understanding to her and to understand that she was just a sad bitter old lady as James said in the cartoon and also due to her sociological environment as he said too. I think it should still remain a message to children today that sometimes just because an older or elderly person could look or sound bitter or could come across like that or if they seem distant and want to be alone it doesn’t mean they’re mean or horrible it could just mean they’re unhappy and lonely perhaps and just need cheering up and to have some company and it’s how you shouldn’t judge someone by their appearance and to think before judging someone because people aren’t always what they seem just from first sight and if you thought wrong of them the first time you should learn from the mistake you’ve made and you should give yourself another chance and the person another chance so they can show you what they’re personality is really like to prove that they could look mean and bitter to someone but they’re really not like that at all and they’re people just like you and me.
I should have seen these awesome Beatles cartoons when I was a kid some 58 years ago. But it's not too late now that I'm 65. Thank you so very much for showing it now! 🎉😊❤
Everything in this cartoon is so cheesy and nostalgic, and then they actually play the song, and it's like ;_; all those feels. I'm glad things turned out alright for Eleanor Rigby.
0:57 I DON'T BELIEVE IN WITCHES I DON'T BELIEVE IN BEATLES all I believe in... is me, Yoko & Me The joke was better in the we can work it out episode, but I still find it funny they had John be the doubter.
@Rhypiereor you are right. I love this song but like they said lonely people are sad. So i guess this means we should treat everyone kindly cause they might be lonely. But i totally agree with your comment.
3:00 John is looking at Paul a little too intensely there. Don't know what that body movement's all about either. I have a feeling that if there weren't a guitar there he'd be strumming something else.
Ah look at all the lonely people. Ah look at the lonely people. Eleanor rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been. Lives in dream. Waits at the window, wearing a face that she keeps in a jar by the door, who is it for. All the lonely people, Where do they all come from? All the lonely people, where do they all belong? Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear. No one comes near. Look at him working Balling his socks when no one is there. What does he care. All the lonely people where do they all come from? All the lonely people. Where do they all belong? Ah look at all the lonely people.
Since The Beatles themselves didn't like this cartoon and didn't want to lend their voices, the people had to hire voice actors that can do a close enough impression of the boys.
Hey I made a mistake Paul Frees does an ok George. He did not do Ringo. I think there should be a cartoon called "The Adventures of Justin Bieber". LOL Or The Backstreet Boys as a cartoon. LOL Maybe Miley Sirus as a cartoo. Uh that would be X rated.
I dont think they put too much research into this cartoon, the voices arent even close, they dont even sound british, and they're strumming their guitars to a song that has no guitar in it!
Right. And the homeless. And the disabled. And those in prisons and mental institutions. And the homebound. And victims of any and all kinds of addiction. And the abused and bullied. And victims of misunderstood illnesses such as AIDS and hepatitis. And pregnant teens and single parents. And homosexuals and transexuals. And any and all other society "misfits". Sometimes I feel like Eleanor Rigby. Not always, just sometimes. It's amazing how cruel people can be to each other.
No. The Beatles themselves didn't like the cartoon and refuse to be part of it, so they just lend their music to Al Brodax *(The man who made the cartoon)* .

I love how she puts on her witch mask before leaving the house. Then it breaks when she's shown kindness. Sums it up, really.
I've been looking for this cartoon for a looooooong time , your post is really appreciated, Thanks!!!
Eleanor Rigby is one of the few singalongs I remember when I watched these cartoons back in the late '60s
This cartoon has a good moral message to it.

This is my favorite cartoon of beatles.
+Issac Nicolas That is the correct answer! You win a very important prize!

I DON'T BELIEVE IN WITCHES
I DON'T BELIEVE IN BEATLES
all I believe in...
is me,
Yoko & Me
The joke was better in the we can work it out episode, but I still find it funny they had John be the doubter.
+Bakorafanboy13 Oh, you have to believe in witches.
A hauntingly beautiful song. And the date of the completion of the recording kind of adds to the eeriness: 6/6/66.
This is the cartoon music video that got me hooked on The Beatles
Saturday morning; had to get up at six
They did the unthinkable twice. They made the masterpiece that is Eleanor rigby, and they found where the lonely people belong and come from.
ah....the good old days when songs actually had verses a chorus & a melody!!
And the Fab Four for entertainment, complete with a Paul vs George danceoff. Now THAT'S a party!!
The accents were SPOT-ON!
Umm, no they weren't. They all had Liverpool accents, it was difficult for the voice actors to copy it

Describes about 90% of the people in the internet.
Yes I remember that cartoon back in the seventies
Eleanor made a remarkable recovery after dying in the church.
@Rhypiereor you are right. I love this song but like they said lonely people are sad. So i guess this means we should treat everyone kindly cause they might be lonely. But i totally agree with your comment.
love it !!! the beatles
me encanta esta serie :)
watched every sat, morn :))
PAUL AND JOHN!! XD XD

+DatRandomGuyOnTheInternet What was your point?
Best cartoon ever. XD
Why is paul so short?
@dejongerful Yes and they also reflect George's calm personality; him trying to ease the argument.
Do they have one for Dr. Robert?
how did u get such good quality
@Kikaez I didn't hear any drums so that might be an explanation
terror only !
1:42 WHAT HAPPENED TO JOJ'S FACE LIKE SERIOUSLY LOL
at 3:23 i died.... Oh my god
Haha,John and Paul arguing XD.
Hmm...a prelude to the split when John and Paul were disagreeing?
Well look @ that... all the lonely people aren't so lonely anymore! Wonderful!
Damn, the animation has really aged. I know it was from 1968
+ultimatecartoon Try early Mickey Mouse 'toons.
Why does only ringo's appear in the song eleanor rigby?
very true... very true...
Where is the happy part of the song? Just curious
Versión en español
i think this is officially my most favourite youtube comment ever.
Cute.
JoJ? Have you been watching too much CS188?
Who else was thinking about Monty Python with the talk about witches?
You've only aged one year? It's been three silly! :P
They never did get John's voice right.
boykorda or George's... he's Irish most of the time in these cartoons xD
+boykorda They didn't give a shit, as long as they got paid.
Since The Beatles themselves didn't like this cartoon and didn't want to lend their voices, the people had to hire voice actors that can do a close enough impression of the boys.
No one was saved... and Peppers was next?!
So much more uplifting then the trashy cartoons that exist nowadays.
But she didn't die, she's right there! And why did know one ask who Father Mckenzie was?
+SleepyNinjaCats He's a brief character in a Beatles lyric.
Elanor rigby good ending
Hey I made a mistake Paul Frees does an ok George. He did not do Ringo.
I think there should be a cartoon called "The Adventures of Justin Bieber". LOL Or The Backstreet Boys as a cartoon. LOL
Maybe Miley Sirus as a cartoo. Uh that would be X rated.
where is ringo when they're all playing Eleanor Rigby?
Playing the cello.
I dont think they put too much research into this cartoon, the voices arent even close, they dont even sound british, and they're strumming their guitars to a song that has no guitar in it!
Violins and cellos in the music, but they play guitars... Oooookkkk
Why is Paul shorter than John :D
Maybe because Paul was born two years after Ringo and John? I looked at pictures and he is shorter than John, but taller than George.

gd qulity
I'm sad
Are these the real Beatles members doing the voices?
No. The Beatles themselves didn't like the cartoon and refuse to be part of it, so they just lend their music to Al Brodax *(The man who made the cartoon)* .
3:23 SEXY FACE!
saddest cartoon song ever.
pranks
DO YOU SPEAK "BRITISH"?
Were do all these lonely people come from ? REALLY!
They sound nothing like the Beatles.
Had the voice actors ever actually heard of The Beatles??! Cos they sound not a thnig like any of them!! lol!
Oh god this is terrible.
The accents are terrible!!!!
