Had to come back to say that you really managed to pull some great sounds out of this synth. The other demos I’ve seen of the Pro-800 pale in comparison to yours!
Better than Alpha Juno imo I've had one for a good 25yrs and have the the 800 now . Having a second osc is defo a plus, but having said that I can hear some very Roland esq vibes there for sure. Crossing the Jx3 and 8p off my list now lol
@@AdamTheAd-vanc3d Of course it makes some things better then AJ2, without a doubt, but still there is certain likeness in brass and pads similarities. If my AJ2 gets damaged with the time i will certainly get Pro 800 as replacement. But for my personal needs it doing the job. I`m fond of DW8000 but its getting very hard these days to find them for decent price. Sorry for bit off topic. :)

You know what i really was hunting a dw8000 aswell and like yourself was kind of expecting one for less than they are currently going for if you happened to come across one for a start. They have the lovely 2040 filters which sound lush in polysynth.
@@kujumz806 It has a distinct tone, I also love the sound of the filters very much. Sounds like nothing else. Also very flexible modulation matrix for a real analog synthesizer. It never gets boring.
@@AnalogAudio1 You've just made a video of some great patches from a Pro-800 and you say the DeepMind is your favorite? no way the Pro-800 is much better DM doesn't have saw on both oscillators, plus the oscillators are a bit weak you really have to rely on the effects to get it sounding good.
I've heard folks say that the Prophet-600 needs effects to sound really good. I don't think that's the case, even though this is closer to a Gligli modded 600 + velocity and poly AT... it sounds good totally dry regardless. Just need to wait for my replacement to arrive as my first one had its PSU blow up

I wish they would make this with a 61 keyboard with poly aftertouch. If I'm going to get the UB-Xa do you think they would play well together? Could set up a volume pedal for each unit. Not sure if UB-Xa has any kind of velocity curves or controller functions to send to Pro-800. It's a beautiful copy. Uli will be heralded as the blessing to all poor musicians but props to the Sequential team that made the original. It was a miracle at the time. A programmable polyphonic synthesizer.

Nah Joseph you probably would never believe it.. but many many years ago I HATED THIS COMPANY THOUGHT ALL THEIR GUITAR PEDAL STOMP BOXES WERE CRAP AND CHEAP KNOCKOFFS … and here we are.. but this was bound to happen just like when APPLE CAME OUT with their first version of iphone and everyone laughed out loud and made fun of them - now all the technology has caught up and you kinda get all the iphone tech in the androids are so similar just sayin
I’ve been reluctant to upgrade past 1.00 because I’ve gotten quite used to the factory sound and I don’t like the inability to rollback/restore previous versions, but this may have finally sold me on v1.2.7. Well done!
@@DannyKavkayeah, the old firmware honestly has neutered filters and envelopes among other things. Functionality-wise, the 1.2.7 firmware brings it much closer to the Gligli modded Prophet-600 except for the range of its pulse width. I don't think that's too much of an issue, but if they change it to be closer to the original, that's totally fine. Obviously it's gonna sound different, but I'm sure all Prophet-600s sound slightly different to each other anyway

Yeah, it's musical and sounds great, but It can't replace a Prophet-5, but it's obvious, since it's in a totally different price range. Sounds more like a Prophet-600 with a velocity sensitive keyboard with aftertouch, which is not a bad thing :-)

BTW, it looks like there is a new firmware 1.3.7 update, I have not done the update, should I update or keep 1.2.7 firmware? I suspect these updates change the patches? I know this means extra work every time you have significant changes to your patches but will there be updates or is there nothing to be concerned about? Thanks
Thank you! At the time of recording it was the firmware 1.2.7, but I updated the patches to work with 1.3.7. The LFO intensity of the patches was wrong - no big deal. In case Behringer changes the compatibility (I hope not), I will update again - unless it's impossible to make. But not every update has to change the compatibility to patches. Anyway, the 1.3.7. is better then the older firmware, I would recommend it.

The thing is a beast and has preset storage. I'd buy more of their stuff if they had preset storage.

Same here. Longing for a Model D with patch storage. However, the Pro-800 can cover a LOT of terrain, as these wonderful patches show.
I liked the bass patches the most, a nice set of patches.

Are these patches affected by any of the recent firmware updates? Also, which ENV curves were they designed for?
This soundset is compatible to the latest OS. I choosed the ENV curves depending on the sound I wanted to create.
