    Stage 3 EN turbo veloster N here! I live in California as well, and I suggest adding a couple gallons of E85 which will increase your Octane and you’ll be able to use you’re scorcher to its full potential! Great video btw 👍🏼

    You did not need the HPFP for a piggy back tune. You can get a mid stage 2 tune with zero issues. Then the option to pull out the fuel inlet filter gives you even more latitude with the OEM Kona N HPFP.

    Given the current recall on the car are you worried these mods will affect warranty? I really wanna do the scorcher and hpfp but I’m worried dealership will fuck me over

      The recall I feel they gotta do the fix regardless. You could run a piggy back and just take it off before going to the dealership as they don't need to diagnose problems cause they know what the problem is. But again, dealerships are so shady these days. Technically mods aren't suppose to affect your warranty unless it's proven the after-market part is the problem of malfunction. In the recall case it's Hyundai corporate saying it's their fault. But again it is something that is risky so I would probably wait until the recall is situated before modding!

      Depends where your from, if your from Canada or US then that's where the recall took place,it's only a US and Canada problem. Anywhere else in the world you are fine.

      ​@vroomgc I had the trans recall done on my EN about 2 monthes ago, it's just a reflash of the module if you never got an codes for it, it's no big deal.

      Ah thank you man! Tryin my best ha. I went with aFe cause got a good deal on it from the Kona n owner who was the test vehicle for it. So used but was well tested and recommend by him!

    It should feel quicker with the octane learning. I love this car but that octane learning is so annoying,because that extra couple of pounds feels really good.Awesome car man.

      Yeah I wasn't sure if the gauge would read when it's tricked. I hit 16, 17 but briefly in some of the initial runs, but never sustained like it does at 15. And thank you again man!

      @@CaliforniaKonaN when I first got my car, I hit 21 multiple times, now it won't go over 18. The song and dance you have to do is also a pain in the ass.

    This thing actually looks dope in red still hate the hyundai/ kia design issues like putting turn signals in the bumpers skipping out on important features like the g70 not having ambient lighting for a 60k price tag loaded etc

    Are you using regular gas or premium? You should get 18psi sustained boost, or did the piggy back tune mess up the car's ability to read its own power/boost?

      Premium out here is 91, no 93! Also didn’t octane learn but when I hit the track (with the piggyback) it hits 19-21 I’ve seen! But wonder if having higher octane would help or learn faster?

    Great video as usual! I especially appreciate the HPFP and NGK plugs part numbers. I have an EN and eventually want to tune, but I’m still up in the air on which direction I want to go in. This is definitely an option. NDriverKG just posted a video of his new N75 tune using the EKPro Lite. So many choices! I also think about the spare ECU option. If money just grew on trees lol.

      Ha thank you! I feel ya on the money growing on trees and went this route cause I got it used but I hear the EKPRO lites have been good. Also if you watch Patty Boi he did the spare ecu swap and has an ekpro. Def excited to see which way you go!

    I put race chips in my kona n 2023 small différence change for same plug at you install dont change full pump juste take off small filter in side the pipe give me more power whit stoks exhaust 😊❤

      Ah yeah I was debating of taking out the filter on this one too. I think it was Tork Motorsports video that I saw do it. Maybe in the future!

    whats the main mod to hear so much more of the turbo intake? is it just the aftermarket intake? or have you done something else to the turbo

      Intake & BOV. Also upgrading the turbo inlet I hear alters the noise of the turbo for the car!

    What did you gap the plugs at 0.026 , or were they pre gapped , on the afe site they recommended another plug .

      I ran these based on PattiBoi's assessment. They have a Stage 1 tuned elantra and talk about the sparkplugs and why some shops will recommend the HKS. The video is here:

      These were pregapped and just took em out the box and replaced the OE ones. I'm sure the HKS ones work great, it was more of a budget thing and watching the video above that kinda made me stay with NGK! All good so far!

      I think the spark plugs will but for the HPFP and any piggy back tune will need to be specific to the EN platform! Im sure it might work but I wouldn't want to risk it unless it was tested for a particular car.

    I’d honestly like to put this on my EN with the addition of an intercooler, intake, sparks and better coil packs instead of getting an actual tune just cause it’s my daily driver and I don’t rlly want to push the car more than that. Wondering what your thoughts on running some thing like this long term might be?

      That’s my thought too! There’s going to be inherent risk that changes the engine dynamics but talking to the aFe folks they really tune more on the safe side, pushing to get power but not overboard is what they’ve said.

      Hah crossing my fingers they don't say anything. Thankfully this is easier to remove and harder to detect than a full ecu swap. But that being said piggyback tunes could still be detected if they look for it!

    I took my Kona N to get the recall done and he informed me to keep all my receipts for my oil changes because I did them with a separate company. In other words, they are broke and will do anything to void your warranty.

      Just took mine to my dealership and they did the recall and checked the transmission and said they would replace if needed. Thankfully I just needed the software update, but also had all the mods on and didn't have an issue. But again agree, dealerships will find any excuse to void!

Ive had other cars in the past and used piggybacks and also full tunes and never had issues and still went to the dealer for things like oil changes etc. They were happy I was coming to them... Unless you actually have an engine or transmission failure, which is very unlikely, your fine.

    Very nice! I thought that road you guys tested after the install looked familiar. I used to live in Chino, and I used that same route as a loop to make sure my s2k battery didn’t die. Are you considering ethanol blends?

    Can you run these on e85?

      I've read somewhere that it gums up the injectors. Maybe if the fuel system is swapped out, but stock I hear it isn't recommended!

      The upgraded plugs came pre gapped I think, but also don't have a gapping tool to measure and I'm worried i'd mess it up hah. I could have also used the OEM plugs and gapped I suppose!

    How much boost you got from these alone

      I'm not sure tbh. aFe didn't specify the amount increase to boost, but also not sure if it would show up on the reader. I've had my boost levels vary (even before the piggy back install). But that could be because of the octane learning etc. Also not running their full "race" setting as I've heard it wouldn't be beneficial without 93 (only have 91 where I'm at).

      @@CaliforniaKonaN if you can find E85 around you you can always add enough to get 93+ oct. Try the race mode. You will notice the hit once you octane learn.

      Most likely! If a tech is really looking into your diagnostics they'll find most things like a piggy back and or a full ecu swap etc.

    I noticed the boost level was still 15-16, has it changed over time?

      It fluctuates with the octane learning. I don't think it was learned when I was testing, and annoying to always have to go through the process to get the higher 20psi boost hah!

      @@klasseact6663 felt great to me! more responsive in the low end. I didn't have it in the full RACE mode so it wasn't crazy, just a little bit more pep. I've had the piggy back tune off to get some R&D work done and could def feel the difference tho. Going to put back on once I get the car back and then see how it feels!

    Video is almost useless. First you should let people know that you voided your warranty. The camera angle was terrible almost impossible to see what you are doing especially in f/f. What was the purpose of the video except to tell people look what I got. You didn't even tell how much of an improvement you got.

      Appreciate the feedback! I try not to claim its a how-to-install video, and more of trying the products out and bringing visibility if I can (aka it is telling people looking at what I got).
      Agree the camera angles could use some work but still balancing filming a vid while tryin to install the product.
      As far as performance improvement and warranty I did mention at the end my thoughts and review. I can't claim actual numbers or any technical info outside of that it works and what I feel driving it.

      @@CaliforniaKonaN I understand. At least give your followers some real info so that they will know if it is worth voiding their warranty. I have the kona n line and been thinking about modding mine but have seen all the info on bad mods and hyundai voiding the engine warranty.
