I always thought it was kind of silly how Haytham, who owns and uses a hidden blade, just forgot that Connor has one on his free hand that isn’t being restrained
That's the thing, he couldn't kill his own son and instead let himself be killed. His only goal was stalling for time, time for Charles to escape. Even though it wasn't a great tactical move he wanted his son to live, which is unlike the Haytham we know
Haytham wanted to die cause he couldnt stand living as a traitor or kill Connor. Connor didnt want to do this at all. In the novel he literally says he wants them to be a team again cause they are blood and he then says Haytham isnt giving mercy. He didnt give mercy cause he had to push Connor to kill him. The whole fight is Haytham essentially saying "Kill me dammit!Do it!" Its not that Connor was trying to kill him.He literally tells him he will spare him if he stops and in the novels he tells him again and again to stop cause he doesnt want to fight. The moment Connor decided to kill Haytham was the moment that Haytham died. Basically he forced Connor to kill him in self defence. While Haytham didnt want to kill him he was indeed angry and is stated to not have been holding back as far as hurting him atleast. Connor just wanted Lee
The kenway Saga(Which I'd consider 3, 4, Rogue and Unity, since they're all intertwined and affect one another's stories directly.) Is the absolute peak of Assassin's Creed. It blurred the line between Assassin and Templar, gave us some of the most tragic storytelling Ubisoft ever produced, and gave us some of the best memes(GIVE ME LEE). Truly my favorite era of AC. I love AC1 and the Ezio trilogy, but the Kenway Saga just all came together nicely.
Unity isn't part of the Kenway Saga. It uses a different engine, isn't set in the Americas, doesn't feature naval combat, and there are no Kenways in sight.
Connor , a fool who was given a purpose by juno and was being used by her , he killed everyone and yet achieved nothing , he lost his home , he lost his people and his father ... desmond found the key tho , only to set the juno free , truly shitty ending to a beautiful saga
He was 13 years old when Juno tricked him. Connor is a success,he helped in the war, saved many people, didnt kill innocents at all(unlike Ezio in Revelations and Altair in AC1),he rebuilt the Homestead,he rebuilt the Colonial Brotherhood,he stopped that madman Charles Lee. Although he is just a character he is far greater than you and me can ever be Funny that you say he killed everyone he saw but he made attempts to spare people. More than other Assassins. You are still as smart as the 13 year olds that said "Connor is BoRinG"
yea they really made a mess of Conor's story... but in a beautiful way although his life was of hardship he still found a purpose in his going. He was a small but significant cog in a large machine... and although he was no Altair or ezio... he was the reason why Desmond was able to save the world. It's kinda insane... how contrasting themes to lead to compelling stories.
@@masonwatts575 i can think of a few other titles in the AC franchise that beat AC4 in story & gameplay. Gameplay & Story: AC2 Gameplay/Parkour/Realistic Combat Style: Unity
@@sharronbrennon899 ac2 and ac4 are arguably equal in story. The only thing ac2 has over ac 4 is the present day story but it doesn't do much with it so that aspects a tough sell. Personally the ship combat elevated ac4 for me by a lot. Ac2 is a close second for me. For unity I prefer the older parkour system
@@masonwatts575 AC2 has the better story due to the conspiracy & intrigue, & how it unravels. In AC4 You pretty much know who your enemy is from the get go. But in AC2 you don’t even know the Spaniard’s identity until later. After you have chased down the head of the pazzi and returned to monterigioni. Then you learn of more once you’ve reached venice.
@@sharronbrennon899 That part of 2 definitely elevates it but after Roderigo runs away to Rome, you waste two sequences going to Florence trying to get the Apple back. I would've rather they skip straight to the end. Not only does ac4 not have this problem, but I think Edward's personally growth is better than Ezio's, although it is very close
A boss fight doesn’t have to be hard to be iconic
That was for Adewale
connor looks so good in his grandpa's robes

I consider 3, 4 and Rogue as the Kenway saga due to game engine and Unity and Syndicate as their own phase

I like your take as i also love those games along with the anthology era games (meaning AC1,2brotherhood,revelations and AC3) :D

He set Juno free, yes, but he prevented the second catastrophe. Maybe it wasn't the wisest or only option, but it wasn't for nothing necessarily.

I always felt like the story wasn't that interesting. The only memorable section for me was the final sequence
Good times when AAA studios like Ubisoft were run by gamers
That was very smooth...
How many restarts did you had to take?😂
Around 10 tries... But I enjoyed it 🙌

Meh.
AC4 is neither peak gameplay or peak story and neither is AC3
