I had the absolute longest laugh 😂 when they showed the house they ended up going with instead...the shot with the sheep staring at the camera! Thank you so much for this made my day!! 😂
Same here! The guy was such a fool.
My heart sank for that poor wife of his with the terrified look in her face when faced with the prospect of having to do the conversion themselves.
They turned down a ready to go house that they could have added storage to, put the toilet next to the shower, and put laundry where the toilet was. Then they went and bought a total barn reno that will take all their evenings and all their weekends for years to come. No more bike riding for them. Time to grow up kids.
Instead of building in storage space, the ridiculous couple bought a complete renovation project - unbelievable!
I don’t think that man would’ve been satisfied any other way. However empty shells only look huge until they’ve been converted into livable rooms. So I’d be curious to know how spacious he found his new abode after all the walls were up and custom storage allocated per his specifications. Did they end up with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths and the same square footage *plus* additional storage space a separate laundry room and garage? Inquiring minds want to know!!!
Russell and Karen were like chasing an Indian rubber ball, their bikes will be piles of rust before they have time to ride them! Happy for the other couple!
Mmmm. You gotta love contradicting wish lists! "I don't want to be surrounded by neighbors, want tons of privacy, have tons of land, no road or street noise, or any kind of noise, but I want to be near shops and restaurants in a busy, lively, trendy safe neighborhood in the city center!" God. lol
Yeah . And they think they are different, but in fact exactly the same as the millions of people who don't know what they want...
We live in Cambridge UK, right in town which is good & fortunately on a dead end street so no drive by traffic ... it is quiet here.
The couple that backed out of the deal and bought the complete conversion project will live to regret that. They will never get it finished. Realize it was too much work and money since they will have to rent till it is done. They could not have vision to add their own storage at a minimal cost but go buy a sheep shack.....
I agree. I was ready to whack my head on the wall when Phil said they backed out of the deal. Such a fabulous house (and the views!!!) and he nixes it because of where the washer was. I think he convinced himself that the house had lack of storage.
They did do an update on them two years later, so I'm assuming they finished it.
@@Kevin-sm8pn Do you have a link to the update?
@@dianewalker4633 Only the episode description, not the actual episode.

These are SO WONDERFUL!!! I look forward to them every week. Bless you to the Moon for posting these episodes. They make my day and cheer me up so much during these crazy times we live in!! THANK YOU!
If you are complaining about space for the washing machine, then you are definitely not ready to buy a home. That's just ridiculous.
As other viewers to this episode commented, I cannot believe they backed out of purchase - after a great, solid negotiation by Kirstie - for the sake of he didn't like where the washing machine was positioned and lack of storage. I do so hope, their chosen purchase, complete renovation, gave them exactly what he wanted.
"He" being the operative word.
She seemed to be almost crying in the end, she gave in and did like he wanted, unwise guy, I give him five years before she is fed up with him getting his will...
Agree, somehow I feel she was cowed by the husband, unable to stand up to him and express what she preferred. A terrible shame to have to live like that. @@EllieChristine744
The washing machine to clean clothes is in the bathroom where you go to clean yourself ...
I've lived in Asia nearly 20 years in different properties and the washing machine is almost Always in the bathroom. very practical
So many people view houses and see them at face value. They just can’t or won’t see the potential to make it their own.
I can’t believe those two.
Couples both happy, run Phil and Kirsty run.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💚🥰
Who fixes their bike on the dining room table without first protecting the table ...😠😖
Love the spaghetti western music they play. 😂
Yes, I wondered whether there was a joke there. What movie was it from? Was it from For a Few Dollars More? It was after he said they had had another offer in on the property.
@@carolinewiggins2803 LOL, that's exactly what I thought!
@@carolinewiggins2803 Not sure which movie, probably just referring to all of them. It's seems like a play on the goods winning.😄
good guys winning
So the storage is next to the sheep I suppose 🐏
Imagine being concerned about being overlooked. I lived in a small luxury apartment building in Melbourne. The pay off to get into the building was the smaller two bedroom offering which was overlooked by a larger block next door. I couldn’t care less. As if people are going to be so interested in looking into your life.
Curtains, blinds, shutters internal/external, half nets, folding screens, fill the window space with indoor plants. I use all those tricks. Sigh 😞
Imagine being so concerned about someone else's preferences. You sound like someone who IS being so interested in looking into their life. I couldn't care less.
"So now you boys can go wave your magic wands in the garage..." hahaha
Yea that was really funny :-)
I love this show. These two are special....
As an unmarried couple they're asking for headaches because there's no guarantee they won't break up. If one person leaves and refuses to contribute more to the mortgage the other one might not be able to afford it on his or her own. At least married couples have legal recourse in the case of divorce.
It’s a terrible idea to buy property with a boyfriend/girlfriend. Nothing like a bad breakup and possible foreclosure to take the romance out of mixing home ownership and dating.
@@SimonLloydGuitar Well, the guy whose only complaint about a gorgeous house was the location of the washing machine shouldn't get the final decision about what house to buy.
I can hear judge judy's voice on this one. 😂😂😂
EXACTLY...@@lorijones9579
It's so good to watch my favorite program without bizarre editing having been done. You (All Homes) always have the best uploads. Thank you.
No comment could do this nsanity justice.
Seriously city center with a garden...in what universe if your budget is in the hundreds of thousands only. Did they fall off the turnip truck yesterday?
"I don't like the view." how often does one living in the city look out the window for the 'view' ??? you look to check the weather ...
You do what you need to do it a huge house I’ll still be here 😊smaller home leaves more time for Phil to be Phil
Thats my parants, yay
Karen and Russell annoyed me. They didn't deserve the house or the help. A little integrity works wonders.
In Spain the washing machine in the bathroom is very common!
UK it’s in the kitchen or preferably a utility room
Germany it's bathroom too - in the US it's usually a laundry/utility room (big cupboard/tiny room somewhere).
@@BritGirlJay Where I am in the US (Nevada) all the homes in the development here, built 1990, have the option of washer&dryer either in the 77 sq ft utility room or in the secure 2-car garage. Mine are in the garage so it frees up the utility room to use as a computer room/office. But you're right, I think the trend now is to have them in the house.
In France it’s either in the kitchen or the bathroom. Only newer houses may have a separate laundry area (and I do mean houses, not flats). Still not that common.
In Italy and in the Netherlands too. It's almost never placed in the kitchen.
2007--love an update!
They did an update on Karen and Russell a few years later. Because this episode is so old, they're most likely not going to do an update on them now.
In England, I’d buy cheap and tear walls out, and make it my own, with more open space than all the small rooms.
I wonder how many years ago this was...................20?
Can you add the year and season?
Winter 2007 it says
2007 it’s on screen
Winter 2007
2007.................

Hi love the show but it’s 2022 ,any new shows?
No.
Covid stopped filming and production but 2022 new TV shows. When they get to UA-cam???
@@cg9616 No. So the show is still on the air but it's difficult to post new episodes on UA-cam due to copyright. Older episodes tend to have less of an issue. That's why these episodes are so old If they were newer, they would be removed immediately.
When it’s free, you get what you get
Yes but the time lapse makes no difference. The stupidity of some people remains. Sure the prices are worthy of cardio resuscitation but back then it was all relevant.
That was filmed in 2007, I expect that if they’ve stayed in those houses since then they might have paid off their negative equity by now
Mitzner.
This has the update for Karen and Russell ua-cam.com/video/4NoMC0exJ1w/v-deo.html
wow - they really did a great job.
Thank you for posting! Wow, they did put in the work to turn that old ruin into a modern home, to their credit! I didn't see that coming and was very impressed.
Paid 130,000 for the property, and then--over the 2-year time period in which they were developing their dream house--an additional (approximately) 235,000, for a total home cost of about £365,000. Not too shabby!
(As someone pointed out, they likely had to pay to live somewhere else during a good chunk of those two "house construction" years. If this is the case, then the question is, if they had hired professionals to help with the build, rendering the new home habitable much sooner than 2 years, would that actually have saved in the long run by reducing the amount paid out in rent?)
"Buyer's Remorse" even before the purchase! Totally immature buyer and ultimately, dishonest.
What silly couples
35:37 Ha Ha Ha. BURN!
How sad.
Russell 😡😡😡😡
Their so smug
I think they didn't buy the house because... those bedrooms have nasty slanting walls. I would NEVER buy a house that had rooms with handicapped walls. That's an ATTIC (good for storage), NOT a real room. ALSO... you have those stupid skylights in the slanting walls, NOT ACTUAL, REAL windows. I want a room with walls that stand tall and a huge window through which I can see the most beautiful countryside in the world.
I like this show but the lady that helps the couple out is rude behind the customers back. she acts like they are stupid and dont know what they want..
Only they are stupid and don't know what they want. It's one mad wild goose chase! Who doesn't enjoy the comic relief that is Kirstie and Phil?
Kristie is brilliant. 👏 It’s a show for entertainment and the couples agree ahead of transmission- UK say it as it is rather than soft soap and sell people something they don’t want, don’t need and can’t afford!
They are stupid. Kirsty is not rude just honest. Before the couples get help they would be told that comments about them may be prickly.
@@bar10ml44 "Prickly," yes. Well put!
This is 15 years old! Not interested. Hence 'dislike'.
There are plenty of things on UA-cam more than 15 years old. Doesn't make it any less interesting. If you want brand new TV then watch TV. Don't hit dislike on a perfectly decent video that someone took the time to upload.
It’s free. FREE. You you aren’t paying for it, so don’t complain! Geez.
