Video correction!! so sorry to confuse everyone it is DEFINETLY 60 degrees not 45... i must be tired... haha
Yep. It was obvious, so most people probably figured it out, but thanks for fixing the error.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 45% AND 60% DEGREE LINE?
MAJOR MISTAKE!
5 minutes of confusion and calculating 😂😂😂 thank you for clarifying i thought it was some kind of quilters math
I am new and made a PERFECT 6 strip piece only to cut it at a 45 degree angle as heard and I screwed it all up. :-( Starting all over....
Beautiful! Adding this to my "projects I want to do" list. Heck, I'm already picturing my stash & mentally picking out fabrics for it, LOL! I watched a similar video earlier where they turned the edges under and topstitched rather than adding a binding, and I think your version looks more finished and professional than that one did. One note, though; it's technically not "bias binding" since the strips were cut on the grainline rather than on the bias. But you probably already knew that 🙂
I am a newcomer to this world of patchwork & quilting. I have sat through about 8 tutorials for a guide to make something like this. Your video is brill, lovely idea, great directions. I can't wait to get started. Thankyou Ashley
Liked your video, glad you made the 45%-60% correction. Also, Missouri Star Quilt has 2 excellent videos on connecting your ends together. keep up the good work!!!
To conserve fabric I when I know I am going to be cutting at an angle, I stagger my strips at approx. the angle I'll be cutting vs lining them all up at the selvage :-) sometimes I can get an extra wedge this way.
Very wise
Love it !!!! I have a small, round dinette style table. This seems like a perfect topper. Not too difficult, and endless possibilities . I'll be making one as soon as current project is done. Meanwhile, combos are going through my head LOL.
Very nice. I bought a Jelly Roll of Christmas fabrics a few days ago. Can't wait to make this.
Nice!! Hope you share in the Facebook group 😊😊
This instructor is great with her instruction
great teacher and love the colors you used
Hi Ashley!!
My kids have a round table. This would be perfect.
Thank you!
Hugs,
Lin
Aww wonderful! Hope you share your finished runner! Www.facebook/charmedbyashley
Lovely runner. A couple of years ago I made a smaller version & sewed the binding just like you did. I also made a different version were I started with a hexagon, then added strips to each side, changing the fabric after each 'round' was completed. Maybe something for you to try :)
Thx for sharing...I've been looking for hexagon tutorial that was less intimidating and yours seems to fit...can't wait to try but probably not until after holidays....
Thanks. Very lovely💜
You are so very sweet. Easy to understand, easy to follow.
Thank you Ashley❤
Lindíssimo trabalho em patchwork.👏👏👏👏
I absolutely loved your tutorial and how you also suck at binding. I’m having a tuff time as a new quilter wrapping my brain around how to make it come out right without sewing off the binding. 😊
I love it.
I found the Mingos….love it.😊
Woot! First viewer! Love this runner.
HI I JUST STUMBLED ACROSS THIS VIDEO I LOVE THIS PROJECT LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL QUESTION HOW LONG STRIPS TO MAKE THE SIX PANEL TO MAKE THE HEXAGON TABLE TOPPER? WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CUTTING ON THE 60% LINE AND 45% LINE? IS 1 YARD GOOD ENOUGH TO MAKE THE SIX PANEL TRIANGLE TO MAKE THE HEXAGON TABLE TOPPER?
Hi ashely can I use a variety of mix Mach colors or they have to match! I’m new to quilting
I’d love to see the flamingo one….I love Mingos
I went to your Blog but could not find what size it is. i would be using large strips because I want a topper to be approximately 30"
Charming
Hi, Great Tutorial ,love all your explanations.. however I checked out your Blog, and I cannot see final finished Dimensions. Help, as I need to make one about 36 inches.
I am just now at the age of 78 wanting to learn to sew things for to decorate with and simple quilting. Can you tell me the completed size so I know if I want to cut my strips wider. I have an oblong table but want this for the middle. Thank you.
I love the leaf fabric...what is it please?
This is from the fall collection at Joanns
How big is this topper. Thanks.
I cant pull up the measurments so can you tell me how long your strips are?
The strips were the width of the fabric, so about 40 to 42"
Cfons and porter jellly roll
Was that a 45 or 60 degree angle?
Ok clearly its 60... wow I dont know why i thought 45.... i take it back!!! Lol
I wish you would put how much fabric is needed under "show more." As a novice, I have no idea how much to buy.
No finished measurements anywhere on your blog .......
OMG I used the 45degree and waisted 3 strips before I noticed the correction😭
I can understand your frustration. If you have enough fabric you could make an octagon with eight 45-degree triangles.
