My David Austin rose, The Generous Gardener, is becoming too top heavy and needs a haircut at the end of summer. I don't want it to go into the winter so top heavy, as the wind can really damage it. My rose is a repeat bloomer and usually repeat bloomers don't need the haircut at the end of summer, only when they become too big and heavy. My rose is 7-8 years old. - Навчання та стиль
I recently found your channel and have been binge watching your videos, lol. Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge. This year I bought my first climber and it’s The Generous Gardener, seeing yours is such an inspiration, it’s absolutely gorgeous!! Hoping I can get to grow as lovely as yours on a trellis.
Hi Cynthia! Wonderful, welcome aboard and let’s garden together! And you’ve got yourself The Generous Gardener! First climber, congratulations!
I am planning to buy another climber for the front of my house. Feeling like a kid in the candy store : so many good options…
Thank you for sharing. I have never tried to transplant a bird's nest. Loved this video.
This is my first nest too. I am curious if Cardinals be back next year...
You did a great job Olga !
Thank you Wen, yes, that is one of big jobs in my garden. Glad I did it before we had this horrible rain/wind storm here in North East.
Hard work in your garden...🤩🤩
I know, that climber needed to be downsized. And I am glad that I did it yesterday, we have rain all day today.
Thanks for sharing, I originally discovered your channel in search of information about the generous gardener rose; this is helpful for future as mine is so little now☺️.
Wonderful! Glad that this video is helpful! Have a great day.

Yaaaay! Thank you for that super video! Really enjoyed it! I have a lot of climbers growing but are still young. I always wondered though, what about all the lateral canes that grow out from the main canes? Do we just leave those? Maybe during your winters they die off by themselves??? I don't have winters like that here in Hawaii. What do I do with those lateral canes? Trim them off?? Ty Olga for all your help!!!😁🙏🌈🌟🌟🤙🌹
Sunshine Lee, you are my best idea person. I bet that a lot of folks don't know what to do with those long lateral shoots. I will do a video on this topic. Have a great day in Hawaii!
@@OlgaCarmody Hi Olga! I'll be looking forward to that video! I'm so worried about those lateral canes, don't know what I should do with them. 😅 and you have a great day too, take care!!!😁🌈🌟🌟🌟
Wow! Big job done. You are a hard worker Olga. Do you take care of your entire garden all alone?
Yes, I do all the jobs myself, it is a lot of work, but totally worth it. I love gardening!
Hi Olga...I hope You feel okey 😃.. My favorite plants are roses, but they are so delicates...☺️😊
I feel fine, kids are going to school this week! My favorites are roses too!

What did you use to tie the rose? Loved this video!!🌸🌸
I use green elastic for all the stuff in my garden. Glad you like this video! It was a big job!
May i ask , how often do you spray your rose with insecticide?, thank you.
I do Rose Rx 3 in 1 spray maybe 2-3 times a year. This rose is very healthy, never had any problems with it.
@@OlgaCarmody thank you
