I realize that there is probably well north of 100 years combined experience in the packing facilities, but it is still amazing to watch a well orchestrated, quality focused operation going on with organized chaos, and rolling equipment everywhere, and so little product loss (mashed potatoes). If most Americans had any idea what goes into that bag of fast food French fries they are eating, they would be very much more appreciative of the American farmers, who put millions of dollars of their own money at risk every year, and only praying for a good crop in return. Keep up the great content, thanks.
And I thought that spraying water on them was primally to prevent dirt and dust in the air. Thanks a lot Molly and your husband for your videos. Give us all knowledge on how much effort Bell Farming have to put in to maintain this business running. truly hard work. Stay awesome and looking forward to next video.
Excellent! I have learned a lot from your vids Molly. I can see the smile and it reminds me of the pride you feel when a job is well done. TY for posting girl and have a great Sunday. 😊
Congratulations on a lot of hard work and a bountiful reward ! Time for warm breezes - silky sand - an emerald bay & fruity cocktails ! Come on, you both deserve it… and it would make for an amazing video !
Well a happy Sunday morning to you Molly !!! Congratulations on wrapping up your potato harvest season.. This was an excellent video on concluding your storage process… You’re every man’s dream woman, smart, hardworking, loyal,Beautiful, great personality, and one killer body wrapped up in Levi’s boots and tight shirts you’ll never have to say Shane come back come back Shane 😂😂!!!
I really liked this video. I feel like it really captured the end! Something I have never seen because I am working in the other room. Super cool to see it for my self! Haha thanks for the compliment! I’m really lucky to have him too! We have a wonderful life!
BELLS FARM the last potatoes from storage, big bags and bags of potatoes, everything sold to the customers, good potatoes for frying, lunch break, nice hat from Molly, and everything cleaned and tidied up, waiting for the new harvest, it's nice to have that to experience, see you next time, greetings from the Netherlands
It must feel great to see the last potato and to start thinking about what's next! For some reason, I usually crave potato chips during or after one of your videos! 😅 Tell Shane and Ray thanks for sharing you and the farm with us!
Just awesome videos, and even fresh cut French fries for lunch! Sign me up to work there!!! Can’t wait to see videos of how you cut seed potatoes 🥔!!!!
This was an amazing journey to watch, I am kind of sad that it is at an end, and a little disappointed that all the pressure on that last potato it wasn't turned into a diamond, maybe next year's videos will have it happen. Thank you!
You look great Molly. I lived in Freiburg for a short time in the late 80's. The scenery was beautiful. I may come to see it again this summer. I'll have to keep an eye out for your brand in stores while I'm there.
Exactly what I was thinking. There's a song about a cheesy pick up line that says "how did you get in those jeans girl? You look divine. How did you get in those jeans and tell me how do I?"
Hey dad, yes the ducks and chickens want their worms! Haha watching ray scoop is one of my favorite this. Haha I wonder how many miles he has driven over the years
So much for an early planting... South Paris got about 22" of snow in the past 24 hours. A little more than you did I'm sure. I enjoyed watching your videos. It's quite a life you've got going on there. I didn't know you have a store. I'll try to find it on my next journey through LA. Our regards to you all.
Another very good video, Molly. Thanks for sharing your journey with all the viewers. I found the whole potato processing process to be very interesting. It's far more complex than the typical homeowner growing a few rows of potatoes in the family garden each year. However, the manual digging of potatoes from the garden is very labor intensive as is a good portion of your processing. I look forward to your future videos on growing potatoes as well as the other crops grown by Bell Farms.
Hi Molly. From Grimsby in the UK. Thank you for the journey through the potato season. Waiting for your next adventure. I grew up on farms in Lincolnshire in my early years, and used to go pea picking or strawberry picking to earn some pocket money. That was fun, maybe thats why I’m not too keen on peas and strawberries. Noticed you were having fries, hope you used the good potatoes. See you next week. ❤🫶🇬🇧🇺🇸
Excellent stuff 😊 loved the ducks and chickens at the beginning,,your chips 🍟 made me feel hungry 😋 thank you for taking us through the potatoes journey,,till next time take care from the 😉👍UK 🇬🇧
Hi there it's aways GREAT to watch your videos and aways to see your DUCKs and CHICKENs .... All making a Great nosing sounds ..... Thank you for sharing your time and GOD bless you and your family ❣️
I'm looking forward to the video of cutting seed for planting.. A video of ground preparation with fertilizers and so on would be appreciated when the time comes. :)
Hahah we wet the potatoes to keep the dust down, and to help the potatoes slide into the bucket easier. The dogs are the best mood booster. Hard not to be happy when a cute furry friend is by your side.
Good golly Miss Molly. Sad to see the potato season come to an end. I never knew that your season lasted so long. Won’t be long now and you’ll be back at it. I’m sure you guys still have plenty to do before that starts. What a great job you did recording the whole process. I grew up in Lewiston and I never knew that potato’s were grown there. Thought it was mostly up in the county. Hope you keep up with the rest of your projects so we can see more of what goes on. Thanks Molly and Shane. Hey Molly I have a question, will your potatoes be available at the new Market Basket going up in Topsham?
Thank you! It was fun to see the footage myself! Lots of it I never get to see because I am working in a different room. I think we will have our potatoes there. I’m holding we can do store direct deliveries with our bags!
Finally done! Good feeling isn't it? And to finish up when the weather is cold..so many years we were finishing up when it was nice out side..going from the sunshine to the dark is always hard..send me some pics of that brusher please thanks..how did you do over all with them? My price was down from 2023.
Lots of hard work. It’s not an easy job packing spuds Great work as always it’s is a very interesting videos. You are in great shape. Definitely don’t need to go to the gym.
Morning Molly, so that is the last lot it won’t be long before the potato harvest when will that be starting how is your maple syrup going on l have a friend on line up in Canada and she has started boiling hers it won’t be long now. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Hey Molly - when you were making those French fries it reminded me of In & Outs animal style French fries…so Good! I gotta tell ya I would be to tempted to eat potatoes day in and day out if I worked there and boy oh boy would I pack on the pounds. You can see my first thought was “Animal Style fries” then you have Irish Sundae’s, and Au Gratin, Mashed, Twice Baked…Oh man now I’m hungry! See what you’ve done!😊
Hahah I have been answering comments for a few hrs today. And I want mashed potatoes now talking about potatoes all afternoon! Haha you contributed to that haha
Was wondering who would get the honor of picking up the last floor potato! How often does the dog get stepped on? Does the dog ever alert to anything wrong with the power equipment? How is the floor slab and air ducts and walls cleaned? Just water? How sharp is the bucket lip? Looks like anything less than razor sharp would damage the potatoes while scooping them up! Good video!
It was me this year! I will brush her occasionally while I work. But she doesn’t even move lol. To be honest she sleeps most of the day when she isn’t following us around! We will use a pressure washer and soap to clean everything, then the storage building get disinfected before the next storage crop. Ray will dull the bucket so it doesn’t cut the potshots. Thank you for watching.
Molly your halfway there to what no other woman has ever accomplished, I was wrong, Shane was right 😂jk congrats on finishing dirty storage must be a good feeling
I'd be quite interested to compare the quality of beef, pork, and lamb raised on grass, potatoes, and corn. I would expect noticeable differences in flavor, but I have no idea what would taste best.
Molly love the channel and you probably covered this but what is the purpose of the air tubes, is it just natural air flow, pump power? Whats the benefit of the tubes to the potatoes?
Hey there! The culverts move fresh air through the pile. I have a video on potato storage explaining. It talks about the storage building and the culverts.
I think it's cool you can store those for so long and keep them fresh (fresher) than most people can. I got some potatoes from my son that worked for a produce supply place that supplies local stores and restaurants with many types of fresh produce. I guess they belong to some association or something that supplies a certain area that local farms sell to. (not sure how it all works out but some large restaurant chains and supermarkets use them) Farmers must have to either brings Lots of produce to them to buy or they bring samples and they buy a certain amount of goods not sure how that works but seems like it would be a hustle for a farm. I know some of you are "contract" growers but seems like if you're bagging and everything else that you could sell direct to a store or a meddle man (growers association).
We do sell direct to some stores. It’s more deliveries for us, but it works out nice sometimes. We used to have a lot of groceries store before COVID. Then the stores stopped letting people store deliver. And that was the end of that.
Is this the time of year when you recruit all the local mémères to sit on the cutting line to begin the seed process Molly? I sure hope you havent replaced tradition too much! -Bob...
@@BellsFarming That is interesting also Molly, the mechanized labor force that leaves the local mémères out of work like that. Maybe you guys could put up a greenhouse with your available aged workforce? lol
Hey Molly are yall still getting maple sap and do yall boil it down to make the syrup? I've been waiting for the old semi truck and equipment tour from you guys would still love to see that thanks a bunch for your videos
We kinda got lazy with the syrup. We did two boils this year. I am going to do a tour this summer if all the equipment. Well ray and Dave will help hahah
Hahah that fork lift has been shoveling potatoes for us 20 years and probably another 20 years for someone else. I can’t even imagine how many miles that is! It’s the best forklift
Pack potatoes, film, cook lunch, film some more, move air ducts, film, bag more potatoes. You are mover and shaker Mrs. Molly. Great video.
I love being busy!
i love it... a deep fryer in the Bell packing house kitchen... makes sense... fresh french fries
You have the noisest ducks LOL 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆 Molly, your joy and enthusiasm for your job is contagious.
Well it's official, walked down the potato aisle at the store and got turned on! Thanks Molly, love what you do!

Lots of Green Thumb potatoes in fryburg. They are a really cool operation!
Hi Molly great video, cool that you guys make French Fries for lunch . I think Bells farming should make French Fries at the Fryeburge Fair.
Most of the fry stands have our potatoes. We go up there to deliver potatoes, it’s over a tractor trailer load for that fair!
Who knew there would be so much drama about how much pile is left... Edge of your seat stuff!!
lol hahaha I’m not sure if your being sarcastic, but it’s funny either way. Thank you for watching the until the end 😁

Modern mechanized farming is an amazing thing. How long can potatoes keep in cold storage at the outside?
