You know they could’ve avoided a lot of backlash by not naming it bloodlines 2. It still can be a Vampire the masquerade game, but this not definetly not a sequel to one of most celebrated rpg’s.

At one point it shows how much xp you have out of 500. That by itself is oof for vtm ip, but you know whats worse? It seem like my suspicion about them not having stats might be correct. When showing player menu at the start no where there it says stats. There is ability tree, which when accompanied with leveling system means you gonna slap a point in your abilities every time you level. So don't you worry about hacking, being charmer, intimidation, persuasion, cause chances are there wont be any cause there aint any stats for any of those things.
The optimist in me remembers the Human Revolution leveling system - all your skills/attributes/abilities are your augmentations you unlock with skill points, and you can either find skill point items in the wild, buy them, or get a skill point every time you cross the always-fixed XP threshold. They could have gone this route, but, again, this is an optimistic approach.

Actually you can make some choices in the xbox360-wheel occasionally as if it were Dying Light 2. And these people say they were inspired by Baldur's Gate 3. The way the camera moves in cutscenes is actually similar, but it’s unclear why this is even needed in a game called Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Well, we definitely won’t see a third game in this series.
why? the game looks promising for an alpha state. This is showing a gameplay of an existing character. It is still roleplaying even though not a self-insert. Player roleplays in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe game and therefore it is Bloodlines series.

It has been a tumultuous project that also was impacted by covid and budgetary issues. At the end they just wanted someone to save it and get them profit.
Since they decided to use the “Bloodlines” name they should have in my opinion have kept the core of the game. This game looks like devs making the game they wanted to make but rather then give it a new name they used an existing one. This may backfire. Fans have expectations created by the original game they love.

@L3Spong3 they have already said there is no character customization. there is only 2 stock looks for your character. you get to choose your clan and male or female and that's it.
@L3Spong3 the 1st one had character creation, but not customization you are correct on that. However, the initial trailers for the bloodlines 2 showed both, so already compared to what it is replacing is a step down.

It is SO disappointing. The technology and graphics are very advanced, so this game should have no excuse for looking like this. They could have done better. From all the years we waited on this game, they gave us this. This could be better.
The way feeding fills pips for all abilities, instead of a generic pool is very clever. It means you're encouraged to use the different abilities to not waste the charges, instead of focusing all your pool in a single ability.
A bit disappointing this presentation is mainly focused on repetitive combat gameplay. Hope it's not representative of the main orientation this sequel leans toward. Will see...
