It just looks like a bit of a half arsed design. I would love the old school circular one with the claret lion but again I guess this is it so go with it. I hope the new kit looks better
Bloody horrible, for years we had that terrible yellow lion and after only one season of a decent badge we go back to it, our colours are claret and blue, not bloody yellow!! so how can you say Luke it looks fresh, also still no mention of our 150th anniversary, we're halfway through the year, they could have least had 1874-2024 on it, very disappointed UTV
Personally... Im a fan of the Lerner badge and the upgraded Lion we got several years back with the stitching / mould of its mane and stuff. Plus it looks pretty sweet mono (all one colour like white). It's much better on a kit to have a badge thats a different colour - it works better with the claret kit and makes the badge stand out. Not against having AVFC changed to ASTON VILLA, but would have prefered it at the top. Also not against the founding year or "prepared" being introduced in a small element if it can fit without making the design spacing silly. As for the round design... I get why lots of people like it.. but stop chasing the dragon of that 80s glory man, and just enjoy that the round badge is an iconic part of our history. Otherwise, why not go back to a Red Lion like our Original 1st badge when we won several leagues? Dont make sense. The only thing that can genuinely be improved from the Lerner badge (with updated Lion) is getting gold in there.. the lion could be more gold, the trim around the badge could be gold. Gold works beautifully with Claret and shows our rich history. This could also help a little with the yellow against blue contrast that people fairly raise.
Judging by the comments this isn't actually the end of badge gate. Since the last One was voted on and this One wasn't, I doubt it will take much fan disliking, before the FA get involved. Were it voted on, even if it were 2nd placed but chisen by the club, not tro much would be said. As it is, I foresee issues arising.

Looks uninspired for me mate, there us no attention to detail at all and as a few said, would have loved the lion Claret The round badge was not given a chance and this whole debacle has left a bad taste in the mouth At least we have Adidas now though thank God
Big relief. I liked the original version of this badge so I'm happy for the new badge to be an evolution of it.

The previous one was class. Not enough claret on this one. Also, the round one looked better. I'm neutral though, Villa fans must have voted for this.

Away kit. = white with claret stripes
3rd kit = Yellow n Blue with claret trim
