I basically say that because she was raised but such an oppressive/sexist father she is desperate to be a hero and to be accepted by the hero’s (Emma, snow, David, etc) that she needs everything in her life to fit that mold. Including her bf/husband, she wants to use his powered “for good” no matter his feelings about it.

Exactly. This is such a great scene for Robert Carlyle. He starts aggressive then there’s a moment where he’s caught and he’s trying to figure out if he can talk his way out of it, then there’s a moment of surrendering and apathy, the real kicker is when he goes from utterly confused to “I can work with this” and acceptance and he goes back to being aggressive but it feels different now.
I can't believe any of you actually prefer Lacey over Belle. Lacey is sickening. She is flighty and promiscuous and dark and something of a sadist. Belle is who Rumple needs so badly right now, Belle who is strong and brave and intuitive and endearing and endlessly compassionate and forgiving. I want her back.
i think if rumple never knew he was rumple and was just Mr.Gold then lacey would have been perfect for him, but because he is rumple and rumple has a son who he need to be a better person for that is why belle is perfect for rumple
I really wish they would have let this dynamic of Gold and Lacey run for a few eps. I think it would have been really interesting. I think the writers chickened out.

I love Rumples face change form :46- :48. He found a way to win Lacey over. But that is just it, he would have won Lacey, not Belle. I think he will enjoy the relationship with Lacey for a while, but just as Regina stopped enjoying the curse she set, Rumple is going to want the real Belle back.

Lacey reminds me of Cora, who was Rumple's former lover. Both of them are attracted to the dark side of Rumplestiltskin, whereas Belle loved the man Rumple wanted to be but couldn't quite maintain. If only Belle could have blended her perosnality with Lacey's like all the other cursed characters did and embrace both. Then she could have loved all of Rumple.
I actually agree with CharCruse20. The sheriff is a despicable human being I agree with you on that, but Lacey does not know about him and what he wanted to do to Belle. Lacy just watched and laughed as he is probably being beaten to death, that is were the tragedy lies. For all we know, Belle is truly gone.
Belle never had a curse self. When the curse hit she was locked away without any memories. Not even fake ones. Thats what made it so easy for Regina to create lacey. A curse self for belle. Late but now she has a curse self. Lacey who apparently likes bad guys.

I think that she is most beeter than Leacy, because the most important in this couple is that Bella is a good woman and, she is an angel who makes miracles in Rumple. Transform him in a good person. She`s a little light in a big space with darkness.
I don't like Lacey at all and hope Belle comes back, but on that note, if Lacey is so evil and is encouraging Rumplestiltskin to be evil, maybe we'll finally get to see them make out (seriously we've seen HOW much of Prince Charming kissing, it'd be nice to see more Belle/Lacey and Rumplestiltskin kissing).

I know Belle will come back as well, but they want us to start to doubt it will happen especially after this scene. I want Belle back, preferably without something horrible like Rumple to loose his memory to keep them separated.

Not true. The writers have confirmed that Belle will be back. Most like Lacey will fall for Rumple, share True Loves Kiss & then it'll just happen. But ur right - this scene wouldn't have happened this way if there was even a spark of the real Belle there. But Belle/Lacey & Rumple have True Love, so it makes since for her to fall for him either way, Belle sees the good & Lacey sees the bad.

Avion Vadion Actually it's the Sheriff of Nottingham. Because it's Regina's revenge. Belle always tried to change Rumple for the better and that's one of the reasons why he loves her so much but now she's even more cruel than him which is like a forbidden fruit. Regina is punishing by making him and Belle go dark, doing things they never thought were possible. I hope my explanation helped :D
