In BT3, Not only could you go saiyaman from base adult gohan, you could go saiyaman 2 with videl. pull up that emulator, man. I do it all the time.

Im a little glad they have a reason to charge ki in a dragon ball game because usually it means you give up your turn or you're taking a big risk for little reward
For Kakarot it's really helpful cause you can spam blasts that teleport you Infront of your opponent.
Xenoverse i kinda get. Especially with being able to charge ki by Fighting. It's still good for spamming blasts in raids.
Ki charge has always been important in the Tenkaichi games. Sparking mode gives you an infinite Square combo until it runs out. So if you can knock your opponent around, you get extra damage from attack their behind, then mash Square until you have a bar left of sparking, then knock them away into an ult.
TL:DR ki charging has always been important. Besides xenoverse PvP
@chardude they are obviously talking about how ki charging is useless in pvp in any game
definitely a necessity to charge in this game. Finding a safe way to do it plus Ki management is very difficult and will be in this game especially well with the dash burst taking ki. Movement will be very important

@@chardude i meant in pvp. Charging ki in dragon ball fighterz is legit pointless. They tried buffing it so many times but there's just never a reason to charge ki whatsoever

Great saiyaman was a transformation in both bt2 and bt3, so that isn't really new
And they actually hyped about this and this only out of 30mins of gameplay that's all they got hyped for now I understand the word overhyped

Oh so you're late to it .. I've been playing it since 07. Life in general was less watered down back then and everything was more based on quality over quantity. Now things are the opposite. Nothing is the same. I hope sparking zero can live up to the older games. So far I have to see more for myself

Saiyaman was indeed a Boo arc Gohan transformation in the old games, and of course you can select it from the start
Ki charges infinitely slower underwater, idk if u noticed that already. The dash cost also depends on the type of character, like we saw on the scans, power characters soend more meter dashing than speed characters
Slower ki charges underwater are a neat throwback to the original BT games.They have got so many old details right,I am happy

Sayaman was 100% a transformation in BT3. Instead of "up" + "R3" it was something like "right" + "R3"
I used to start with Great Saiyaman in Tenkaichi 3, and then when I got serious I would power down to base Gohan and power up to one of his stronger forms xD
That was actually a legit strat in DP mode because Great Saiyaman cost less points than base Gohan and powering down was free.

I already know I really like the city just for how nice it looks and all the destruction on it but that island with Beerus looks great as well. I'm also glad that Saiyaman is a transform. Seeing him was a nice unexpected surprise for some reason.
I also hope what you said for movement ki costing different based on character ends up being true. That would be one way to help balance.
Anyway, what are the numbered blue bars under the character portrait?
That would be what I remember as the Blast Gauge. A resource used for utility skills such as power-ups or instant transmission and transformations/fusions. And in this game is also used for the beam deflection mechanic and maybe other counters.

Important to note that every fight here was a Destruction Point Battle with a cost limit of 15. I think that's what they specified, anyways. Both players only had 2 characters each in the final match, which I think bodes well for the final release, since Kazunoko's team had heavy hitters like Beerus and God Goku. I was worried some early Super characters wouldn't get the high DP cost they deserve.
I also believe Broly did heal on the bench.
I paused on a frame where SHAKA's menu he kept spamming was open. It's four pictures of Goku. Is this the emote wheel?
When Gohan dodged Beerus' Skill at 16:02, he completely lost his Sparking! build up. I didn't notice it at first, but that completely denied him his Ultimate! (This is likely due to Gohan using Ki to dash out of the attack).

I think what you saw on the city map wasn't stage lag but gohan going for a grab/charge hit and it being delayed but I could be wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if you are right, and it was because the amount of stuff on screen as you mentioned but it almost looked like when they swung it was different.

i’m happy they changed burters kit and made him cool because he’s a niche background character who’s gameplay can be super fun and everybody wants to play him just off the title “fastest in the universe” they can make him cool just like minato or zenitsu in there games

i believe shaka was bringing up the emote menu with l3, which can get obnoxious during matches if you keep bringing it up by mistake. which is why i really hope they let us hide or disable certain huds that will take up too much screen space

Dr. Gero’s ki charge is so slow compared to 17 (for example) due to lore reasons. 17 has infinite energy while Dr. Gero needs to absorb it from somebody else. He needs to grab the enemy to charge his ki in this game.
Curious about Super Buus absorption. All the OGs know searching for a target to absorb and the variations were just different and dope to me.
It was pretty simple in BT, you just had Super Buu, Gotenks Absorbed and Gohan absorbed counted as different transformations, I assume it'll be the same here

Saiyaman was both a seperate character and transformation in bt3, i played it a few weeks ago and was surprised it was a transformation for Adult Gohan (had the game since 2007 but I never really played him as a kid and just recently started trying other characters)
Characters getting behind you , the simple answer is just to move either up or down , depending on where you are

I gonna predict that the next trailer will be for villains since they showed off characters like Dr. Gero and Semi perfect Cell
This is hard to watch Shaka spends majority of the time punching the air from 100 meters away if you gonna showcase the game at least know the mechanics it’s hard to see how the game will play if the dev has no clue what he is doing can’t get a good feel for the hit boxes or anything

@@davidt6814 well yeah I agree, I'm still exited about the game coming out but the point I'm making is that they're supposed to be making us more hyped from here on out. Not showing things in the game that allow us to see more flaws because that showcase showed alot of them and some that are there by design do I doubt they will be easily fixed. That's why it's dangerous to know too much about something. Since I know all the bt3 tech and I understand why it's fun, it's always going to be a let down when I see a sequel that doesn't appear to be as good but I'm not saying the game will be trash or that I don't want a new dragon ball game either, I mean I see alot of good in it too. Most people who say they're hype for this are going to play it for a month or so and then never touch it again because they're going to get bored with it just like they got bored of bt3 in a short period of time yet all they do is auto combos and button mash .. go figure 🤣

Android 19 and Dr.Gero didn't charge ki automatically like 17 and 18, those needed to use their grabs or absorb ki Blast to Regen
@globku the z burst dash can be countered with a command teleport/ high speed movement or perfect dash steps

10:08 Charging ki and then fighting was how people played for YEARS in BT3, I've participated in tournaments for years and that's how it was. I still remember most of the people playing Goku (end) for his genkidama and Tapion for his unblockable super.

@@Globku Right, I forgot about transformation points and only noticed the 1 "blast stock" being spent. Also, I totally missed the transformatoin points vanishing from the screen.

In Tenkaichi 3 there was the option to send your opponent flying in any direction, up down left right…then from there you could choose to rush after them, vanish behind them, use a super, etc. The loved how you could pinball your opponent around, even rush at them and change direction and fly around behind them, vanish behind them, whatever you wanted. These mechanics really sold the power fantasy of being one of these characters, and no game since has really done this system better than 3 did.
Does anyone know of all of these specific mechanics are making a return in Sparking Zero?
I vaguely remember Great Saiyanman transformation being something you need an item for.
Like how Frieza had the return to life Mecha Frieza transformation but you needed the spaceship item on to have it possible.
I could easily be wrong and could be remembering from the original Budokai series, not Budokai Tenkaichi but this line of thinking may be what people in chat were trying to mention
That was only the case in budokai series which is actually not related at all to budokai tenkaichi (sparking) who borrow the name budokai to leech of the former game's name in the west thanks to it's popularity.
In bt mecha frieza is a separate character

The ki charge is the best because it’s always a gamble.. should you rush your opponent while he charges and deny yourself time to charge as well or do you charge hoping that he charges otherwise he rushes you while you charge and shit my head ..
Ohh I think Gero’s meter gain is so slow because he can negate ki attacks AND absorb them for ki

Somethings happening to their ki when they transform into God forms,I could be wrong but it looked liked him being underwater didn't effect his ki charge
IF "powering up to the very limit" returns, characters like Future Gohan will be absolutely meta. I also think that pump up will be a top tier ability in higher ranks, especially on Androids.
Does anyone know if raging soul combos are still a thing? Where each character had a unique combo they could do when powered to the very limit?
You could already go from base to GT Saiyaman on BT3
You could transform into great saiyaman in bt3
If you start the fight with characters in base form you should have 4 health bars and already transformed characters 3 bars

that would be a okay way to balance it but no one would pick transformed characters unless they are so broke that it's worth losing that 4th heath bar.So it doesn't make people pick base form characters more but they would become the meta since you can just pick the base character and power up to max to have a OP transformed character but with 1 more health bars.

tbh i could be wrong but i think the start of the gohan hercule fight looked slow only because of the revenge counter followed by a missed grab
