I own this saw and it's amazing. the guys I work with all own expensive chainsaws and can't believe how my echo out worked them all. I didn't wanted a echo chainsaw. I wanted saws like the guys I was working with. I knew I would be made fun of if I brought echo saw to work, but the joke was on them in the end. the echo out worked the most expensive saws. besides sharpening the chain it's never failed to start and has never stalled unlike the others. some of guys even what they call upgraded to the echo chainsaw even though the price is much less. I'm so impressed with this saw i bought other sizes as well. I also bought the backpack leafblower that is also amazing. I wouldn't call these saws home versions series because they're as good as any commercial series saw.
I just purchased saw and I'm kinda in same boat. I do tree work for a living I work for my good friend and him and few other of my co workers all run Husqvarna or sthil saws some are $2,300 saws like the 088 and some are $900 saws but point being I can't wait to try my saw at work soon and all my buddy will probably be like why did you buy that echo lol..
That little split in the knobs for your gas cap are usually sized to fit the shaft on your t-handle wrench and then you use the wrench to twist it. Provides more leverage.
As a mechanic on small engines and outboard engines I have to tell you what that decompression button is for, it reduces the compression to make the pull easier to do. The other thing you ask was about the Poland chain saw, it has a plastic carburetor that need to be replaced, the old metal Carburetor has been replaced with throw a way ones made out of plastic ones. I liked the old ones but you know the new age way, if something works fine, change it.
Keep the chain sharp and oiled and it will last you for years and years! I've had my Echo chainsaw for 24 years and it's still running like new! Yours is much larger than mine... I'll bet it set you back a pretty penny.... Good luck, great video!
I have the same pulan chainsaw. They are heavy as hell. I got the echo cs310 and I love it. Plenty of power to do the job. I also use echo power fuel , which is the 50:1 gas/oil mix , perfect considering its pre mixed. Plus it protects the warrantee I may get the timber wolf soon
Decompress button holds the exhaust valve open so that you have less cylinder compression to fight against when yanking the start cord. BSA had that on their single-cylinder 500CC racing bike. Depress the button every yank on the start cord. Wear ear protection.
Centrifugal, decompression, I love it, this guy knows words. 😄👍🏼 CC is just a fancy way of measuring the size of an engine. It stands for Cubic Centimeter and is in reference to the volume inside a cylinder wall. More CC's usually means more power.
Most important thing is to keep your chain sharp and your gas oil mix correct, use premium gas too! Also check your instructions for adjusting the carb, im sure its set too lean from the factory which will shorten the life of the saw. I have the 590's big bro the 620, has been indestructible even being used for pro firewood and tree service.
Hows the saw going? Its actually suggested that you should let a new saw idle through a near full tank of gas to get everything nicely seated before putting it to work. However, in saying that I did the same as you when I bought my first saw.
huskys parts are temp treated and after the saw is assembled it is run for 1 min for emission check. Not sure what Echo do, there is definitely no harm in being on the safer side and running the saw at idle for 5-10 mins before putting it to hard cutting. Running the first few tanks richer is also common practice. its not misinformation, its all information. What information you decide to take on board is entirely up to the individual.
Haha you're hilarious. Thanks for the vid. I was looking to purchase this chainsaw and now I definitely will. I'm creating a left leg chainsaw guard as we speak. Well we aren't speaking but you know what I mean. You really startled me at 2:35.
+Botyard Look into "chainsaw chaps". They have fibers in them that bind up the saw and stop the spinning chain instantaneously. You could snag a pair on Ebay for under $50.
Good video just for information you could of used the 40:1 gas it wouldn't have made the slightest difference I keep one can around my house at 40:1 And use it for all of my 2 stroke equipment. And all of my equipment is many years old running with no problems I will highly suggest to never use any fuel with ethanol in your equipment.
I ended getting 3 of those bars for ten a piece brand new currently they are all still in the packaging unused tho. Got a better bar to wear out first. Couldnt' say no tho.
You don’t need to dump all your 40:1 already mixed gas out to remix 50:1. That’s just the pollution department trying to push eco friendly emissions on manufacturers. You can use the 40:1. I actually still use 32:1 to this day. None of my echos engines ever failed and they still hold well over 120psi compression
So many people buy the Poulan Chainsaws because they're so cheap, but I wouldn't give you a plug nickle for one. In my book, Echo and STIHL chainsaws are top of the line and will never fail you, but Poulan Chainsaws...are a joke without a punch line.
I really liked working on the STIHL and the ones that Montgomery Wards made, they were not easy and the shop I worked in nobody wanted to fool with them. I worked on all the Outboard motors, and chainsaws for Montgomery Wards, I also did a lot of other lawn equipment.
You said in your first video you were going to be unboxing something. In this one you said, very hastily, that what you had referred to was--did you say LENS? I like woodworking (the kind of home repair you're doing) and PHOTOGRAPHY. I am an old man now, but still get excited about woodworking and NEW LENSES! Maybe you can let us know about the lens you were excited about.
Hey Sam! I recommend a Stihl or a Husqvarna saw if you really want one that will last a good 10 years. Remember, it's not about the size of the bar, but more about the power/quality of the engine and carb. I would have preferred a Stihl with a 16" bar over an Echo with a 30" lol. Still a definite upgrade from your last one haha. This is the saw I use--- www.husqvarna.com/us/forest/products/xp-saws/346-xp-e-tech-triobrake/
Hillbilly Dipper I worked with Asplundh Tree Company for years using commercial grade equipment professionally. Your UA-cam username is Hillbilly Dipper. See where I'm going with this?
+Luther Training Matters not, where you're going. To blindly recommend any brand of saw, just won't work. Especially with stihl and their questionable homeowner "boss" stuff- unmitigated junk IMHO for big $$$. The Echo 590 is a well-made Shindaiwa design which should last almost forever with proper care, and the price is excellent. Why the fixation on bar size? (Shorter is generally better.) BTW, I've run a 42 cc Poulan "Pro" for years. If you know how to get a saw to work, it's a great cheap firewood saw. Got mine as a refurb for $94 delivered; bud says it smoked his stihl 250. Easy fixes did it. "Premium" gas actually reduces power compared to 89-octane. Just costs more. Big thing is to get carb adjusted properly. Filing chain is an art you want to master, if you're going to run a saw much. See Granberg file-guide.
Saved up $500 so wanted to ask you chainsaw guys which saw you recommend between a Echo CS590, 271 Farm Boss or the 450 or 455 Rancher. I'm leaving at 9am to make my purchase and so far I'm set inn the Echo so does anyone care to ellaberate on which is most recommended. For price, power and warranty the Echo is hard to beat but want something that starts with out problems. Anyone care to give me some sugge
Massive? Really? Try a 562 Husqy or a 61 cc Dolmar and you'll need fresh undies. Not saying that Echo is wimpy- it is a great bargain even with oddball chain length- ask me. About that 42 cc PP, a proper plug, if it came with a "torch" POS, splined carb tool & proper adjustment, and you'd be surprised, especially with one available for $94. Chain filing?
I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.
Looks like a nice strong saw. Stay away from Stihl 261. My 261 broke down (crankshaft) after only 3 years of cutting firewood. On the top Stihl says it was my own fault because I did not use the Stihl oil or Stihls alkylat gas. I used Shell oil and mixed it 2%. My old Stihl 026 I had for allmost 20 years using Shell oil 2% all the time. New saws from Stihl are not so good anymore.
I mean you probably won't see this comment due to how old this video is but you should really invest in chainsaw chaps they have saved my legs many many times
Seriously, these things need to be taken seriously. You even touched on people getting leg injuries, and yet you whipping it up like an ‘air guitar,’ seriously? I had to stop watching it, especially after 01:58. Come on dude, pull it back and up out of the box! I sure hope you are alright, and have avoided injuries. Please use this safely and take care! Peace
Learn to cut first it’s not a hand saw going back and forth keep it steady and start cutting by holding the saw close to the chunk with the stable “teeth’s” holding the chunk! Thanks 🙏🏻
The decompression button just makes it easier to crank. It's for weak people. Most medium to large sized chainsaws have them now. It's not necessary to use unless you are truly too weak to start a chainsaw like a real man.
The valve is integral to starting the saw, otherwise starter damage may occur. Please do some research before making incorrect comments. America has enough idiots as it is.
Lol dudes using safety glasses and work gloves, get some fukking chaps man you're spending good money on a chainsaw to make a damn table no reason you can't pitch some money towards the proper safety gear!
I own this saw and it's amazing. the guys I work with all own expensive chainsaws and can't believe how my echo out worked them all. I didn't wanted a echo chainsaw. on these you just use the pull cord to remove caps
the compression button reduces the stress of the the starting :)

So much words that made you sound like a pro. Great job
Excellent purchase, Sam! My face was like :O the whole video.
Excited about the table your making!
Chainsaws don't have blades, they have bars.
Bars and Chains.
Keep the chain sharp and oiled and it will last you for years and years! I've had my Echo chainsaw for 24 years and it's still running like new! Yours is much larger than mine... I'll bet it set you back a pretty penny.... Good luck, great video!
the decompression button is to make it easier to pull start

thank you, the only one who went through each step.

Wear ear protection.
@Furn333 Not an exhaust valve, true; but the compression has to be "ex-ported" so that there is less resistance.
Decompression button releases the cylinder compression so its easier to pull
Love the start up sounds!
96mashy Haha yeah same here. Kinda like a hot rod starting up.
+PlayingMan it's so sharp u can cut someone with it
96mashy yy
The decompression button helps it start better without catching
i ordered the same this morning, this chainsaw is huge and powerfull, moving up from my China made 50cc Stihl chainsaw.
Centrifugal, decompression, I love it, this guy knows words. 😄👍🏼 CC is just a fancy way of measuring the size of an engine. It stands for Cubic Centimeter and is in reference to the volume inside a cylinder wall. More CC's usually means more power.
It's the Circumference of the cylinder, and the amount of stroke the piston travels.
Loved the new intro Sam!!
Don't rev the saw while the chain brake is on, it's bad for the clutch.
Loved the video sam!
5 B.A.S Thank you!
+PlayingMan I love you guys

I am so happy you finally got your channel and I am happy for nia nias nest is great to anyway im excited for your videos

Decompresses the jug so there’s no tension on the piston basically so you don’t blow it up.
I would seriously encourage you to use the pre mixed gas oil, tru fuel, or Moto mix, it has no ethanol,
I'm excited for the coffee table! :)
i cant wait to show my dad he will love this i definitely did it was sick awesome
The de compression buttonmis when it is easyer to pull but if you have itnon is pretty hard
I love your playing man videos
I love it very nice chain saw
Keep it out of the dirt , rocks hard objects . Keep your chain sharp ! And check your air filter .
Hows the saw going? Its actually suggested that you should let a new saw idle through a near full tank of gas to get everything nicely seated before putting it to work. However, in saying that I did the same as you when I bought my first saw.
Not at all true, Matthew Misinformation.
huskys parts are temp treated and after the saw is assembled it is run for 1 min for emission check. That just might be a good profile pic right there Sam!
You should get chaps for when you cut wood
You guys are awesome when it comes 2 Echo chainsaws, don't buy a Poulan Pro chainsaws, they are junk,Keep up the good work guys.
Exciting things are happening on this channel!! CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT VIDEO!
You can use a 40:1 fuel mixture. And don't waste your money on bar and chain oil used motor oil works fine I've used it for years
It's been five years. Do you still love your timberwolf?
Haha you're hilarious. Thanks for the vid. I was looking to purchase this chainsaw and now I definitely will. I'm creating a left leg chainsaw guard as we speak. Well we aren't speaking but you know what I mean. You really startled me at 2:35.

That decompression v
Are you still going to make the coffee table so excited to see the process?
Great video! But I'm a stihl kinda guy, I would recommend getting a Rip chain for the way you're cutting that tree
+Mcloven5044 Nope, not for a new user. Too much kickback risk. Stick with the factory chains for now.
Mcloven5044 definitely agree with that, especially because he almost dropped it at first..
The decompression button disengages the clutch so it’s easier to start and your chain is too tight
Is that the shed Carl lived in on slingblade?
For all echo buyers if u wanna cheat pour a capfull of 2 stroke mix in carb first. Save about 8 pulls.
You don’t need to dump all your 40:1 already mixed gas out to remix 50:1. That’s just the pollution department trying to push eco friendly emissions on manufacturers. You can use the 40:1. Parrot Bill Husqvarna are just as good as Stihl and Echo
Didn’t mention Dolmar or Jonsered chainsaws...... is this some short comic book like you get free with a happy meal??.
Wow I am so excited to see you on your next vid sam without your top on... lol....
How is it holding up?

Did you sell the polan yet
buy some square toe work boots please. Man up! lol! Great videos sir!
do a little cabin for symphony and abram
Sam! I just found this one. Keep it going!
where did you buy that???
Time to make some Tim Allen grunts, ar,ar,ar,ar,ar,ar.
I had a toy chsnsaw
You should break the saw in first and that is a crosscut chain not a ripping chain
Hey Sam! I recommend a Stihl or a Husqvarna saw if you really want one that will last a good 10 years. Love it sam!! Ii know im a girl but I love your manly videos haha
Kim Basciano Thanks Kim! Glad you could find it enjoyable.
This isn't a manly video, who wears leather shoes & runs a chainsaw. He's a wanna be country guy,go back to the city.
Kim Basciano Far from manly! Light years away from manly!
Yeah, hearing damage is so manly and in right now...
Saved up $500 so wanted to ask you chainsaw guys which saw you recommend between a Echo CS590, 271 Farm Boss or the 450 or 455 Rancher. I hope you got the 590, it's a better saw than the $600 ms311 or 460 rancher- and blows away the ms271 or 450/455 ranchers.
I would love that chainsaw but I'm a kid and my parents would never let me touch a chainsaw
@PlayingMan LOL you look kind of like Andrew Taggart from the Chainsmokers!

Jacques Blaque I Run a 357xp and man it's a great Saw....but as far as Big goes I've ran a 3120 Husqvarna and my God it's a Beast!!
My MS250 is a beast, I use it to slice cheese and deli meats for my sandwiches!!, beat that, sucka!
lol

you should be ok with 40:1
That chainsaw is awesome, just be careful!!!!
I want to buy year Poulan Pro chainsaw
I mean you probably won't see this comment due to how old this video is but you should really invest in chainsaw chaps they have saved my legs many many times
2:15 that's what she said
I'll take that poulan pro ,any chainsaw will cut good if it's Sharp. Good video though
Should have gone with husquvarna or a sthil. It's a bar not a blade
20 inch blade omg 20 inch bar you need a 16 inch bar with a Chinese chainsaw
It’s from Japan dumb ass and it blows Stihl or Husky out the water any day of the week.
It doesn't cut like butter ! Sharpen the damn saw please!!!!!!!!!!
You made it a lot harder by not doing the sequence right
I will take the saw if I didn't do anything with it
You need a ripping chain that chain isn’t gonna cut wood like that
I want that fucking saw!!!😄
Seriously, these things need to be taken seriously. You even touched on people getting leg injuries, and yet you whipping it up like an ‘air guitar,’ seriously? That cuts slow. Get you a Husqvarna or Jonsered if you want a faster cutting saw.

Ben Dover. the decompression valve helps keep stress off of the pull starting system
Ben Dover you sound like a troll buddy...based on your name you should be asking people to bend over and spell run. Lol
cool
There’s not that much difference between 50;1 and 40;1 gasoline mixture. Don’t dump your old Gasoline
Nothing gets the testosterone pumping like a chainsaw haha
should of bought a Stihl hahahaha!
jar men or a Husky
Are girls allowed to subscribe to this channel? XD
Lol dudes using safety glasses and work gloves, get some fukking chaps man you're spending good money on a chainsaw to make a damn table no reason you can't pitch some money towards the proper safety gear!
husqarna best
humm nah.
I prefer my Husqvarna 560 XP
J Reino yea I prefer husky farm rancher
