My take away is the buddy diver never should have a loaded spear gun,ever.Its not his turn while he is spotting for his buddy,agree on a time/catch limit between switching over to give the other buddy the same opportunity,I’m a newb by the way.Common sense.
Agree,the loaded gun is only for the hunter, if the first one didn't shot when came to surface to recover, just pass the loaded gun for second hunter, the gun isn't a woman that you don't share. How can be the hunter relaxed knowing that when came to surface will be a loaded gun near him , but not in his hands. If necessary another shoot to finish a fish, it is only a matter of secondsfor the buddy load and dive.
Another important tip: take the spear-tip cork off before you load the bands. Otherwise, your hand will be messing about in front of a loaded spear!

I agree but alot of the time, your buddy is fending off sharks with the spear so a loaded gun will be more practical in that instance.
