I feel like they should change the drekthar hero power to gain the attack baseline andkeep the +1 constant on HK. Then you can still make groovy cat work but not be 1 shot
So, you’re saying to make it have two methods of gaining attack?
One that happens regardless and is capable of increasing via the cat, and one tied to Honorable Kill with reminder text saying “(cannot increase)” or something?
@@paleozoicpellinore9284 I would say they meant to change the wording to make that if the hp have +2 by groovy cat and it kills 5 minions, it does (5×1)+2 instead of 5×(1+2)

Oh, so more like a functional change to Groovy Cat?
Like “Battlecry: For the rest of the game, when you gain Attack from your Hero Power, gain +1 Attack”.
It’d still be stackable but, so long as Drekthar’s hero power counts multiple Honorable Kills as one instance of gaining Attack, that should result in the equation you’re talking about.
@@paleozoicpellinore9284 I was thinking to change drekthar’s hero power, something like "Deal 1 damage to all minions, gain attack equal to the number of minions honorably killed", that way you gain once X attack instead of 1 attack X times. And even without changing the wording, they can make so that the hero power gives you attack only once instead of X times in a raw (so the game calculates the number of minions honorably killed then gives that much attack)
What you said was a buff fo groovy cat with every hero power except druid’s basic hero power

“when you gain Attack from your Hero Power” not “when you use your Hero Power”. Granted, I did forget to include “this turn” in the +1 part.
Current Groovy Cat already works on non-Druid Attack gaining Hero Powers like Demon Hunter … I’m assuming given Cat’s wording.
But I will admit that your suggested rewording for Dekthar’s Power would also fix the issue.
It’d be similar to Korrak, in a way. Y’know, mentioning Honorable Kill rather being a legitimate Honorable Kill effect.
That first armor Elise duel was hilarious. Had me yelling like Walter White in the car
I went against a nature druid deck that could heal it's taunt minions with the passive that heals when he casts a nature spell and it beat the op groovy cat lol. Taunt beats. But still duels isn't fun with this kind of meta. I was only playing the drekthar deck because you almost have to if you want to win
I love these duels videos, I am really glad you still do really interesting duels runs. I also think that you just assume everyones going to play drekthar is really strange though. Even if its popular, people dont get direct control over who they play because you only get offered a few choices.

Regis just missed the hotfix to remove Groovy Cat from Duels entirely, happened after this stream or something I guess. Hoping he cheers up on the mode after that at least.
Blizzard sure has their work cut out to make Duels more fun. I wish they were a lot more active in just outright banning more cards like Boars etc. A ban every few weeks on something could even keep the mode fresh with very minimal effort, reworks and stuff would be preferrable but just simple bans is probably more realistic effort.
Believe me without a doubt that I tried playing a counter deck to drek'thar druid but through out the whole run I never went up against any of them until I played another deck that wouldnt counter them. I swear the game doesn't let you play against decks you are planned to counter.
Yeah, i stoped playing duels as well until they do something with Drektar.

Didn't watch duels for some time and I was wondering why groovy cat got banned so quickly. Now I know lol. Better ban it for everyone when it's broken with one class and one hero power!
I don't get it groovy cat is banned, why are people using it on duels?
This footage probably isn’t *super* recent so it wasn’t banned at the time and later got hit with the ban hammer

Blizzard as always introducing a game mode give absolutely 0 support and people play it less then they kill it due to lack of players, over and over again
There are so many interactions in duels that are just broken. I hope blizzard at least tries to address some of the issues but duels might be the least important game mode for blizzard
