Really enjoyed this video! I totally agree with you about how Japan feels so welcoming and peaceful! I go to Japan every year or every time I feel burnt out. I always feel so refreshed after the trip but the moment I got back, I’ll be planning my next trip to Japan! 😂 Snowboarding or skiing in japan is absolutely amazing too. Ahhhh ❤️
Seeing Americans shell-shocked that they travelled 20+hrs to get somewhere always makes me giggle coming from Australia. We're so far from so many places that 30 hours sounds like a standard transit time to me haha
Yes yes yes yes yes, you got it! That’s the feeling. It’s a sense of calm and appreciation for just everything, the shops, the people, the food, the trees, the buildings- even just the wind, there’s this almost magical sense to what we call everyday life that in japan carries this lovely feeling. I thought I was the only who felt that homesickness when I left but all the friends I’ve made there and almost all the people who I’ve seen go and tell me about their trip say the same thing. It’s just amazing and I’m so glad you got to feel it and see it for yourselves. I hope you go again and maybe get to see and do more because I kid you not there are so many things to do and places to see and food to try... ooh I just love it so much. Please stay longer next time if you can 🥰
yeah maybe sometimes I think about baby Arden doing target hauls in her bedroom at 16 and yeah maybe I DO think about how far she’s come and MAYBE I DOOO get a little nostalgic and emotional!!!
Arden could you please please do a video about photography and talk about your film cameras, what film you use for them, where to buy cameras/film, where/how you get film developed, etc? I would love that!
I just got back from China and it was the same thing. Felt like I was there for so long, yet so short. And I feel homesick for China too. So cool that you guys got over there! I HAVE LOVED U GUYS FOREVER.
Little Things in Japan i spent a full month in tokyo back in 2016 and again in 2017, yet I still discover new things! Hopefully I can go to japan again in 2020
my favorite people in my favorite city. I love seeing people enjoying Tokyo. I grew up in Tokyo and it holds so much for me. I'm glad you were able to see and experience the culture 🥰🥰
This made me so nostalgic for Japan. I went two years ago and I actually met you in London at an ohh deer event and I remember asking you when you were going to Japan because you love it so much and it’s so cool you finally went
This is sooooooo crazy. I spent all day planning our 2020 Japan trip yesterday.😍🗾 Best timing ever to watch this vlog. Which ryokans/hotels did you stay at?
Did you know that there’s a theory that in My Neighbor Totoro, Totoro is actually the god of death and everyone except the dad is basically dead? I don’t know if it’s known in other countries, but it’s a pretty famous story in japan, and if you look it up and read about it, there’s a lot to back it up and it actually makes sense. The main thing is that there was this incident in the 40s called the Sayama Incident(the movie takes place in Sayama) where two sisters died. The incident happened in May, and both the sisters’ names in Totoro actually mean May: Mei(read “May”) is obvious, and Satsuki actually means May in old Japanese.
t tamakin oh really? I wasn’t aware they had denied it. To me, it’s just an interesting story I heard from my friends and family growing up, so I thought I’d share it. (I’m assuming you speak both Japanese and English too so I’m replying in English since I prefer it.)
t tamakin I’m not a ghibli hater at all. I just remembered a cool theory and thought I’d share it. I never said I believed it was true. Also, I didn’t see the doraemon movie so I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m sorry if my comment came off as ignorant and idiotic, I didn’t realize it would be taken that way when I wrote it.
Hi,I’m Japanese fan who live in Tokyo:) Thank you for visiting Japan and sharing this cute video !! I’m glad you had fun here! Hopefully you will come back sometime soon! (Sorry for my bad English;( )
Hey Arden! Hope ur well :) just wanted to say how much of an inspiration you and will are for me- I love both your styles of filmmaking and it’s honestly so refreshing to see the contrast between u guys’ content but also the similarities! Aaagh I don’t even know what I’m saying hahaha just thanku for being so wonderful on this platform
This is so beautiful, I want to go to Japan as well! Hopefully sometime soon 💗 I love your videos Arden, I’ve been watching you for years and surprisingly this is the first time I comment in one of your videos 🙆🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️
my boyfriend and I went to Japan this summer too!! we literally planned since January and bc we're students, we had to do it the cheapest way possible. we did one night and one day in Tokyo; took the over night bus to Kyoto (hell btw); had 4 days in Kyoto; 3 days in Osaka; got the overnight bus again to Fukuoka to get the train to Yanagawa for 3 days; then went to Nagasaki for one day; flew back to Tokyo and then spent one night/day there before we flew home. it was honestly magical and I would go again in a heartbeat
great video, as per usual, but I was wondering where you got that sick champion crew neck from. I've tried looking for it EVERYWHERE but I cant find it :(
Come! You will not regret it! Culture/manga/food....so many things to discover. Just a tip....if possible try also to visit something outside Tokyo / Osaka as the real Japan is in the countryside!
I felt exactly the same way about Japan. It felt too short but it also felt like a time capsule and how could a place make such an impact on me in 2 weeks? An old buddhist restaurant owner I vibed with at a macrobiotic restaurant asked me if I wanted to live in his guest house and help him at the restaurant and then he would teach me Japanese... I was SO close to just going for it.
That area is called Akihabara(秋葉原)。And the ramen place is called Ichiran(一蘭). However, in Japanese there is no “R” sound so they should be pronounced as Akihabala and IchiLan.

homesick even if you dont live there i 100% feel you on that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ive been to japan (mostly tokyo) multiple times already but even then, i feel like i havent really seen much of its beauty. will always want to come back to japan. you guys should visit again. also, am bummed out because our trip was just a little bit after yours i wish i got to see you guys!
I went to Japan last year in December, I was there for a week, got to stay in Osaka, visit Tokyo(for 2 days), Kyoto and Hiroshima, I received 2020 there and I honestly can say that even tho this year has been sucky being there right when the year started was one of the happiest memories of my entire 20 years in this earth, Japan is beautiful, gorgeous, perfect and it feels like a dream from the moment you step out of the plane. I will forever and ever be in love, I want to go back so very soon and I want to live there someday as well. BEST COUNTRY EVER
Hi❤︎ This is my first comment on your channel but I have enjoying your UA-cam video for like 5 years!! I’m form Tokyo and I’m just so happy that you enjoyed the city☺︎☺︎ Love from Japan
I don't think I've watched a sit down video of someone explaining their trip this was different and I really enjoyed it, this is actually my fav place in the world. xx
Also had such a great time a week in Tokyo about same time 10 years ago on way back from Australia. Your time looked even better. And so so much food even when picking from pictures lol :) Your face and hair were looking longer and like you had grown up without ageing in some weird way. Enjoy dat holiday time.
Watching this from japan! It’s truly the best country so far and I’m only here for a month. I’ll definitely try to get a working holiday visa in the future :)
I was in japan the week before you went! you’re so right about the homesick feeling. I’m in the feels right now and came to rewatch your video. I hope we both can travel back in the near future and I’m looking forward to seeing all the film photos you took while there;) seriously the most beautiful place I’ve ever been lucky enough to experience. really craving the ramen right now
Hey! I’ve just bought flights to Japan for next August, I was wondering where you guys stayed whilst you were there? Any particular areas/hotels? Or if anyone else knows good places x

Last summer I travelled to the Yukon from Nova Scotia and the ordeal took a whole 20 Hours & 3 flights. And I was still in the same damn country
Jacks Flights always release low-cost trip notifications for Tokyo/Osaka. I’m talking like 350-450 RETURN. That’s how we went this year
