    Definition :
    1. Tidal Hypothesis or Jeans and Jefferey's Hypothesis:
    This hypothesis was propounded by Jeans and Jefferey in 1917 AD. According to
    this hypothesis, a big star revolving round the sun finally approached the sun.
    A large mass was ejected from the sun in the form of a tide. The tidal matter
    fragmented into small pieces in the course of cooling and formed planets, satellites
    and other heavenly bodies including the earth.
    More Explanation:
    According to James Jeans the ‘intruding star’ was continuously moving along such a path that it was coming nearer to the primitive sun and thus exerted gaseous tidal force (gravitational pull) on the surface of the ‘primitive sun’. As the ‘intruding star’ came nearer and nearer to the ‘primi­tive sun’, its gravitational force went on increasing with the result tidal force also increased.
    When the ‘intruding star’ came nearest to the ‘primitive sun’ its gravitational force became maximum, with the result a giant cigar-shaped tide, thousands of kilometres in length, was created on the outer surface of the ‘primi­tive sun’ and ultimately huge mass of matter, in the shape of a cigar, was ejected from the ‘primitive sun’. James Jeans called this cigar-shaped matter as filament which was much thicker in the centre and thinner and sharper at the ends (tapering ends).
    (i) When the ‘intruding star’ was at distant place from the ‘primitive sun’ (but not so distant that it could not exert attractional pull on the surface of the ‘primi­tive sun’) the gravitational attraction exerted by it on the surface of the primitive sun was also low due to greater distance between them. Therefore small quan­tity of the First part of the incandescent matter came out from the surface of the primitive sun.
    (2) When the intruding star came nearest to the primitive sun, maxi­mum amount of gravitational attraction was exerted by it on the surface of the primitive sun due to minimum distance between them. This attractional and tidal force resulted into the ejection of maximum amount of the incandescent matter (which represented the middle portion of the filament).
    (3) When the ‘intruding star’ moved away from the primitive sun (but not so away that it could not exert attractional pull on the primitive sun), the gravitational attraction exerted by it on the primitive sun became low due to greater distance between them.
    Thus, again small quantity of incandes­cent matter came out from the surface of the primitive sun. Thus, the shape of matter ejected from the primi­tive sun became like a cigar which was called by James Jeans as ‘filament.’
    (4) Gradually and gradually the intruding star moved far away from the primitive sun and thus went out of the domain of the gravitational field of our primitive sun. In the beginning, when the filament was detached from the primitive sun it fol­lowed the intruding star as it was pulled by the intrud­ing star.
    The filament tried to keep pace with the intruding star for some time but could not succeed and ultimately it (filament) started revolving around the primitive sun.

    जब 'घुसाउने तारा' 'आदिम सूर्य' को नजिक पुग्यो तब यसको गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल अधिकतम भयो, फलस्वरूप हजारौं किलोमिटर लम्बाइको विशाल सिगार आकारको टाइड 'आदिम सूर्य' को बाहिरी सतहमा सिर्जना भयो र अन्ततः चुरोटको आकारमा रहेको पदार्थको विशाल पिण्डलाई 'आदिम सूर्य'बाट निकालिएको थियो। जेम्स जीन्सले सिगारको आकारको यस पदार्थलाई फिलामेन्ट भनिन्छ जुन केन्द्रमा धेरै गाढा र छेउमा पातलो र तिखो थियो (टेपरिङ छेउ)।
    (i) जब 'घुसाउने तारा' 'आदिम सूर्य' बाट टाढा स्थानमा थियो (तर यति टाढा छैन कि यसले 'आदिम सूर्य' को सतहमा आकर्षण तान्न सक्दैन) सतहमा यसको गुरुत्वाकर्षण आकर्षण आदिम सूर्यका बीचमा धेरै दूरी भएकाले पनि कम थियो। त्यसैले आदिम सूर्यको सतहबाट ज्वालामुखी पदार्थको पहिलो भागको थोरै मात्रा बाहिर आयो।
    (३) जब 'घुसाउने तारा' आदिम सूर्यबाट टाढा सर्यो (तर आदिम सूर्यमा आकर्षण तान्न नसक्ने गरी टाढा भयो), आदिम सूर्यमा त्यसले गरेको गुरुत्वाकर्षण आकर्षण बीचको दूरी बढी भएकाले कम भयो।

    In the tidal hypothesis, an intruding star's orbit came across Sun's. Acc. to the theory, the intruder star stripped off some of Sun's mass and that's how solar system was born. But, couldn't the intruder star's mass also have been stripped off by the Sun's gravitational force and thus explaining and making up the extra mass required to support the theory in some ways. But yes of course its unlikely for the stars to come so close.

      Yeah, could be possible that sun's gravitational force strip out mass from intruding star. But, the mass would be very much less, not enough to form any planet or dwarf planet.
      Because, this hypothesis assumes that intruding star is much more massive than sun.
      For analogy, Sun puts gravitational force on sun, but earth puts negligible force on sun.
