I was in Munich last week, Aldi was selling 500ml cans of lager from the big Munich breweries for 99c (+25c deposit). I brought some home with me, including a 7% "Schultenbräu Winterbock" which seems to be an Aldi product, brewed in Frankfurt. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
Schultenbräu Winterbock was sold in Aldi Süd until approx. beginning of summer.. It was great for the price, a dark Bockbier, 7 % ABV..(0,69 EUR a can, later on reduced to sell it out). Bought many cans.👍🤘🍻 Schultenbräu is an Aldi brand in Germany...It was brewed in Frankfurt/Oder, near to the border to Poland...

£3 is a bit steep though I like Hofbrau. That would be €3.55 here in Ireland. Although all beer is pretty expensive in this market, I would go for Erdinger Helles which is €2.90 = £2.45. I definitely miss the days of Spaten being under €2.
This has been available at Morrisons in Scotland for years now. Was always too expensive for regular drinking at 3 quid a bottle, its now 3.50 which is simply too expensive for 500ml of lager imo. Great beer tho.
Yo Simon, can definitely empathise on the 12 pound scenario (crazy what a couple of extra digits does to my mind). On the other hand i can see the price point being reasonable considering the purity of the beer and as someone else mentioned in the comments I would drink this over craft 7 times out of ten due to being reliable on quality and lower price than a lot of craft beer
At the Tesco I get my deliveries from I can usually get Erdinger (Weiss and Dunkel), Krombacher, Warsteiner and Paulaner Munchen Hell, all at 3 bottles for £6 and some of the beers are in 660ml bottles rather than 500ml. The UK based supermarkets charge too much for these lagers though, I agree. They charge considerably more than lidl and Aldi, about £1.99
Saw this in rip of Morrison's last week at £3.50 a bottle, which for 500ml is so expensive, yes it was on a 4 for 3 but when you think it's not free as 3 bottles are costing you £10.50, what a scam, to be honest I don't see how Morrison's are still in business, the produce they sell is so inflated on prices, the stores are old and dingy and half the time the shelves are barley full of s my local store your lucky that the freezers are working as empty and cordoned off saying they are all broke.
I find this on the sweeter side. Good beer, but I prefer the Paulaner Hell. Krombacher and Warsteiner have an artificial bitterness from the hop concentrate, more to be felt in the Krombacher. Don't like hop concentrate as I don't like sugar added in Belgian ales.
Oh man, you don`t like Krombacher? For me one of the most flavoursome Germans. The other I enjoy is Ausgustier Hell although more difficult to obtain. I do enjoy your fave Paulaner though, get mine from Majestic.

£3 is a completely out of touch price, Even over £2 is insane for a beer to drink in your own home. It should be priced at £1.50-£1.80. Used to buy Krombacher from Morrisons (660ml bottle) for £1.77 per bottle, then Sunak put tax up on beer and Morrisons de-stocked the 660ml bottles of Krombacher and put up 500ml bottles at an increased price of £2.50. Morrisons is dead as a supermarket as far as I'm concerned.

Just checked local Morrisons it’s £3.50!!!
Morrisons have had this for ages tesco have paulaner £2.35 and beers of Europe will charge you postage and munich was where larger was invented its protected under law munich larger can only be brewed in there
Found it ok.nothing special, especially at £3.50.and i think you should take the price in to account is it not an over-all score?
Never tried this gonna pick up 4 bottles of it next week from Morrisons. (£3.50 a bottle, buy 4 get 1 free)
I'm seeing it for £3.50 a bottle in my local store, but on a buy 4 for the price of 3 deal = £2.63 a bottle. Can live with that for such a good beer.
Morrisons are charging £3 - what a rip off. I wonder what p1ss w@t€r Stella costs to brew.
$4.49 a bottle here. 14.99 for a 6 pack.
£3.50 a bottle now in October 2024
4 for 3 so £2.62 each if u wana session on them
£3.00 is the price of sovereignty.
Fucking hell it's 3.50 now
It’s £3.50 now.. 😢
This is honestly one of my least favorite German beers. I think it’s completely overrated and it gives me a terrible hangover
