I had this same exact issue up until recently, it’s hindered me from going out, seeking new adventures, becoming cheap/ hurting potential relationships, and becoming a slave to money. I saved 200k in 3 years but felt like I didn’t live any of my life during that time. It was a great lesson learned on both ends but it truly taught me that money isn’t everything.

I had 30k saved up, and it all disappeared once I got laid off.

first of all, that is an awesome accomplishment to save 100K in your 20s! and second, it's very perceptive of you to notice some of these insights early on. some people don't figure these things out until much later on; i know it took me until my late 20s/early 30s. good video, thanks for sharing!

Hey Sia love this video! i’m going through the exact same thing right now. The goal Ive always been pushing for is buying a house and i’ve been saving about 80% of my income while living at home.
Financially this has been great for me though I find myself struggling to let go of money now for certain things and truly feel like i’m living my rich life. My hope is once I move out finally I can pivot to living that rich life with a more structured budget where I can budget in more fun than I do now.
Watching Ramit Sethi has helped shift my mindset from an extreme ‘FIRE’ -esque money saving frame of mind to a more balanced psychology to be responsible but enjoy life along the way. Good luck in your journey/relationship with money and life :)

Sadly the economy worsened over the years , im only 19 and trust me us teenagers watch all of these resourceful videos to help us. I grew up the exact same way with little to no money and started working at 15, helping my mother. so imagine no college after highschool, because you need money to sustain your life. pushing your dreams and aspirations farther away. its sad the economy has come to this. parents cant help you out and make life easier because the economy worsened the poor got poorer while the rich got richer. at the end of this puzzle you find the truth.... DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY! EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO STRUGGLE STAY 10 TOES DOWN! NEVER FORGET YOUR PASSION!

Your video really spoke to me, in what you spoke about with your internal thoughts about the "arrogance" and negative thoughts that came during this process of saving. I am in a stage of feeling caged and trying to figure out how to enjoy my life and spend on shared experiences that matter, as well as finding meaningful ways to give.

The editing is so distracting I had trouble listening to the message. Just talk to the camera in one take.

Having a respectable amount of money in the bank is always a good thing, giving you a safety net. A good goal to have is to be able to buy your house without a loan, this will give you a much greater satisfaction. It will always make you feel proud you did it.

I've never really heard anyone say to buy a house without a loan! I love that idea! Thanks so much

I have been working 60-70 hrs a week with OT to reach 100k as well. I felt I have been spending less time with my close friends and my dog. Take a break from time to time and reconnect what is most important to you and make time for that!

100k probably can last for 2 years in the Silicon Valley. Rent + expenses 4k per month, 48k per year

Can we put it this way? If we had not lived the way we did, we would never have been able to save that large amount of money. While there will always be regrets (I don't think anyone can live a "perfect" life), we did what was necessary to elevate ourselves. If I didn't hustle, I probably would be mad at myself. I love your videos, by the way, and please keep making them!

Growing wealth boils down to spending less than your earn. Knowing that, you can figure what you should be seeking for earnings that will allow you to have the spending power for the things you enjoy while still being able to put a set amount away in savings and investments.

Do you still live at home? Or did you throughout your journey to 100k?

Hi Sia, I feel/felt the same way you do. HOWEVER I strongly suggest you watch videos from Mark Tilbury. You can see it from a different perspective.

Let's be honest. If you have enough money in your account, highly unlikely you and others like you, would make time to be a content-creator.
At least you're honest but I don't think you need to have any regrets. There are many people out there who does the same but kept to themselves. The money that you saved are for you to live on and for your future, unless you earn more than you can spend, we'll be limited in what we can give for free or donate.

Easy to save that much when men pay all the bills.
