this is my favorite series youve done i think. not only informative but also its just fun seeing the journey from start to end. i'll admit i probably havent watched all of them so far but ive really enjoyed what ive been able to watch
I know its been said a bunch before but just hearing you talk through your ideas and planning and anticipation has helped me so much. I actually feel like im able to formulate attacks now instead of just finding a square to move my peices that wont immediately blunder them lol. Thank you!
I've got to the point that I like your vids before I watch them now. I know it's going to be good content. I'm just starting out in chess and your vids are my go to, keep up the good work.
Ive been watching other chess youtubers forba while now but the way he instructs us of the next move with all the differemt reasons. And almost every possible good move and bad move that can be played is so ridiculous(good way) Ive learmed more from him watching a couple videos than I have in all other videos.
This channel deserves wayy more subscribers! You're an A-class teacher. Also the calm, unrushed approach helps a ton, unlike every other chess channel. Most importantly, I went from 800 to 970 in a month thanks to You!
8:00 Qxd6 looks fine to me event though it's trading queens. He has to recapture with the pawn leaving him in an endgame down a pawn with three isolated pawns and black still has two tempos of initiative.
Every chess content creator has their unique characteristics. However, the book study, and the your logic comes thru on every video. Thx, and Im still laughing at the "cooking rice"😂
3:56 “I’m stronger than these opponents so I’m fine going into an endgame” - isn’t that a thought that doesn’t apply to our games though when we verse equally strong opponents?
The thing is, in most games, players make blunders in the middle game, like 50% of the time, depending on rating, so technically, if you improve your late game, trading is totally fine for you. I think that's what you should focus on. In my opinion, it's much harder to improve your middle game because more is happening on the board.
@@diaryrecorded5524 i think learning by playing worked for me. i focus on what my opponent is doing like what's his motive for the move and sometimes when i feel trapped or cornered i remember or findout what led to that posithtion and try to not let it happen again. btw i am still at 1600 so not too much progress on my side.
Davinci has been rendering them that way at random places and since they are longer I haven't had the time to watch all the way through to find those spots. It's not in the original recordings, but after the edit gets rendered. 🫤 Open to suggestions if anyone has experienced this with Davinci and knows the fix!
I think that at 9:46 you should have tooken with the queen because after the white queen takes your rook when you take the white queen back with your queen it would have been a fork on the king and rook in the corner
At 28:51 MrPlumber84 has opened with the Vienna. Very surprised he didn’t follow your Nf6 with the f4 Gambit. I thought that was the reason to follow e4 with Nc3. Of course, you would counter with d5, but most 900 players choose something else and fall behind.
I'm more concerned with crossing 500 lol been up and down constantly. On a win streak, creep into the 500's and then lose a bunch and back down to the 400's for me...
I think at 25:56 you could win the rook with Ng7+ because either you win the rook with a fork from Nxc6 or they moved to the d file and are mated with Rd1, Nxc6++
Well, i think kf8 would be the escape square, cmiiw. But, white still winning a black rook for a knight, which makes the endgame a whole lot easier though
At 10:48 I'd have moved the king's bishop to pin the knight to bait the white queen to move or screw up the pawn structure on the queen side. I'm curious what you and the other viewers of the video think about that move.
Pieces are old hard mode: Pieces rest for 6 moves while pawns rest for 3 moves. They are allowed to break the rule 1 time but in doing so they die from old age 5 moves later (remove from board if not captured) and are immobilized(does not apply to pawns!). If a pawn is promoted after it’s breaks the rule, it is not affected by the challenge for 5 moves. You may change this number.
49:55 You fool! What about Rook to e5? Fork 2 undefended bishops and get maneuver room for the queen - maybe line it up for pinning his queen to his king. But definitely watch out for target fixation on pawns when undefended high-value pieces are threatening you AND such an easy fork 😉
on the Scandinavian I get them going queen to e6 all the time. I go knight to b5 and threaten the split on his king. It forces him to move his queen which delays his development. Then I can pile on pressure to his queen. I'm guessing people hate it.
At 12:50 ish he says one idea about pinning the horse with the bishop but I don't get why everyone says that bc the opponent can always play h3 and kick the bishop out? Why is this move good?
I'm sorry, but can everyone pause the video at 12:04 and take a second to appreciate how BOTH knights are defending F8? Am I the only noob rated 500 here that's in awe seeing this for the first time?
Some players offering draw in losing position is because they are kind of crying for you to not to take down thier rating. And considering you are a high rated player playing against low rated players you should probably accept the draw as mercy.
IIRC, the account that he set up for this run, refunds the points to any losing players. Not sure if the player knows that in advance, but nobody's rating is getting dinged for losing these games. I could be wrong though?
It's amazing that these players have internet service providers that automatically disconnect them after they make a blunder. I wish that that facility was built into my broadband package.
Really want to thank you, as you are explaining so clearly how end-games will end up by making decisions in the middle. The fastest way to become 900 is to think like a 2200 😅
the game with roronino, when they attacked b7 and f7 with the queen at b3, you could have have just captured the knight in e4 with the bishop in f5 keeping everything safe. am i right?
It's not terrible, but the rook takes the bishop and the pawn is still hanging. While you get rid of the potentially annoying knight, the queen can still take the B pawn and you're behind in development as you just lost your only developed piece, whilst white will have an active queen, rook and knight.
I got to this video, and just realized you got 60+ videos in this playlist. guess I got my content planned ahead. also I have reached 500 elo yesterday, I feel like I have learned a lot so far, even tho I'm only ~1.5 weeks into the game
I'm so confused on whether or not I'm doing good or not.. my rating is 380 and I'm getting whooped by people with ratings of 330... However I win against Imir i think is his name...the pc game with 1000 elo
Dont stop uploading these speedrun videos with detailed explanations. Really helps us a lot ❤
Average 1000 rated game: Opponent goes for 3 move checkmate.. fails.. trades everything to end game or disconnects
so true lmao
That stopped happening to me after 600 Elo lol. Meta changed I guess?
These 800s are playing out of their minds, no blundering at all!

Umm, just go to the page, then click "Videos". It will show you all the videos in backward chronological order. (Newest to oldest)
39:52 c4 should have been a good move kicking the queen from battery and e4 defended by knight so queen can't take it
Hello 2:57 a weird tick sound.
There has been a lot of those lately, I have commented before as well.

Capturing with the knight is forced mate in at most 7, and 1 or 2 moves if they don't move the king to e1. Either way the game is lost for white.
Hi Nelson. You are a talented coach. Your Climb up videos are a huge help.❤
1:30 you don't threaten Nd4 for a long time, first you must defend the e pawn or lose to a fork with Qxe5
I'm more concerned with crossing 500 lol been up and down constantly. On a win streak, creep into the 500's and then lose a bunch and back down to the 400's for me...
At 32:07 why didn't white take f7 with knight?
Not all can analyze brilliantly which an ultimate weapon in playing chess.
1:55 why did you not consider Nf6, getting the knight out of danger, defending the bishop and with tempo on the queen?
I know right?!? I saw that too!
I think at 25:56 you could win the rook with Ng7+ because either you win the rook with a fork from Nxc6 or they moved to the d file and are mated with Rd1, Nxc6++
Well, i think kf8 would be the escape square, cmiiw. But, white still winning a black rook for a knight, which makes the endgame a whole lot easier though
yeah 100% at 50:16 and at 40:48 in the video best moves were roock to E-5
At 10:48 I'd have moved the king's bishop to pin the knight to bait the white queen to move or screw up the pawn structure on the queen side. I'm curious what you and the other viewers of the video think about that move.
It’s a good move, very similar to the original move he made
Pieces are old hard mode: Pieces rest for 6 moves while pawns rest for 3 moves. 50:16 in the vid best move is roock to E-5
6:50 when he played d4, the move was so bad you looked like you were offended 😆
30:58 this position is so similar to the scotch classical!!!
9:49 But ... Qxd4 is just a clean win of a rook, and after ... Rxe3, Black is up a whole queen.
Nxd4 is check, so the queen cannot take rook
@@supercoder4863 The dots mean it's Black's move.
Wasnt bishop e6 a good move traping the rook for black efter rook e7 by white at 36:31
Yeah these opponents are getting tougher
They're not hanging pieces left and right, most of their mistakes are forced or hard to see
I like watching these kinds of games and having key moves explained
Why not Nf6 to get out of the initial fork?
Your videos are so clean and clear. I have to learn how you play end games like you, as I don't dare to make the trades that you are making.
At 2:13 you could have played knight to f6, attacking the queen and defending the bishop
Explain
I’ve been playing that Kf8 for a solid month now and can confirm it has saved me many games lol
King f8? Why?
King f8? Time stampe?
@@MrBombaclout No, he meant knight to f8.
When you reach 1000, you'll be allowed to play Nf8, which is a better move that only the pros know about. ;)
Taking with the knight blocks the rooks only protection 9:39
At 12:50 ish he says one idea about pinning the horse with the bishop but I don't get why everyone says that bc the opponent can always play h3 and kick the bishop out? Why is this move good?
You can take the knight
I don't get how that's a good trade tho bc I've heard that while bishops and knights are worth the same point wise bishops are a little stronger.
Doubles the pawns
@wendylin7614 the queen can take the bishop tho without having to double the pawns
Ig if the queen did take now that I look back it would lose a pawn so ig there's a reason
at 40:48 in the vid roock to e-5 best
I'm sorry, but can everyone pause the video at 12:04 and take a second to appreciate how BOTH knights are defending F8? Am I the only noob rated 500 here that's in awe seeing this for the first time?
