The scary thing about van basten's time at Milan was that he wasn't even at his peak at Milan,his ankles were badly injured in his last year at ajax and before his ankle problems he was much more agile quick and more skillfull,and despite not being at his physical peak he still played really well at the club,125 goals despite playing only 6 seasons in Italy(when it was the toughest league and had the best defence).now imagine if his ankles were at it's 100%.
I grew up as a little kid thinking it was normal for Holland to have such players. Now as a grown man I realise these players were the best we ever had. Personaly I think Ruud Gullit made everything possible.

Basta vedere questi 3 fenomeni per capire che il Milan di Sacchi rimarrà una squadra irripetibile. Anche se tornassimo (come mi auguro) ad essere una grande squadra, a questi livelli sarà impossibile perchè campioni come questi non ce ne sono e anche se dovessero nascere sarà molto difficile averli tutti assieme.

As a dutchman I can say this brings back good memories. this was the best club team ever! And not only because of the three Dutchmen, but also the other players. Baresi is still the greatest defender I ever saw. Like Van Basten once said: “at AC Milan we had an absolute top player at every position.”
