Yes it should as all the instruments are backwards compatible with the Playstation 4, except some of the pro instruments. All you will need is your dongle.The only issue would be for Xbox owners as the wireless connections between the console and instruments are different for the Xbox360 and the Xbox One. For Xbox One owners to use older instruments such as guitars or drums from the 360 you will need to buy an adapter to use them on the Xbox One for Rock Band 4.
I been using a Guitar Hero 5 Guitar and a GH 2 Guitar with a PS2 to USB adapter by Pelican. Less dropped notes and no more Batteries unless I use the GH5 Controller
@@0nedairy you are correct bud. What you need is a Black PS2 to PS3/4/5 Adapter by antcommandos. This is the exact wording and model number for the one I use "Universal PS2 to PS3 Controller Adapter P/N GTR-PS2-ADPT" Made in China
Hi first make sure your guitar lights up. It might be out of battery power or very low so you might want to replace the batteries. Also try - while the console is on and the guitar is switched on holding the button down on the dongle (the usb that plugs into your console) for about 15-20 seconds. If that does not work you should reset the console and make sure no other instruments are connected except the guitar. Then it should sync if not keep pressing and holding the small white sync button on the guitar and the dongle. Also sometimes on the Nintendo Wii (that is the console I have Rock Band on) if you leave the wii remote on it can muck up the sync. If you have a Wii you should turn the remote off before getting to the Rock Band menu.So just pop the batteries out after pressing A after the wii safety wrist band message. :)
Hi i got the guitar working it was the dongle what wasn't working because i got another dongle and when i connected it to the wii i turned the guitar on the guitar and dongle automatically synced

Yes I first played Guitar Hero 3 back in 2007 and have most of the guitar hero games but decided to just focus on Rock Band. I like both franchises.

I know this is 9 years late but if you see this, is there any way you can adjust the fret buttons to not be so sticky and firm?

Pop the frets out then put them back in or just clean them if the stickiness is from food which, why would you eat and use a plastic guitar.
