- Hey guys! with the opening of Brunei border in full swing. I check out and review my first ever Brunei car in the form of the 2022 Brunei spec Toyota Riaze 1.0 Turbo. It so happens I also manage to get hold of a Malaysian spec Perodua Ativa H Spec. A comparison video had to be made. The Raize definitely has the better looking front end. Looks characteristic of present Toyotas. But imho, I feel that the Ativa/Rocky suits the overall design of the little crossover more. It's a Perodua/Daihatsu design after all, and it doesn't exactly fit in when you pair it next to other current TNGA Toyota crossovers.
Also, for the Indonesian market, the Raize/Rocky can be opted with a manual transmission, even with the 1.0 turbo variant. As someone who daily drives a manual, I'm really envious of that.
I also wonder where the Brunei market Raize is assembled.
Hai 👋 the Ativa/Raize/Rocky siblings if not mistaken under DNGA platform. I made this video just to compare tha subtle difference between the Ativa and Raize as Malaysia pretty much band the sell of Raize and Rocky to protect Perodua. Just to let Malaysian know if there is any differences (spec and safety features). But yeah both Brunei and Malaysia no manual variants. Brunei have the entry level Raize 1.2 NA while all Ativa is the 1.0L Turbo. But anyways thanks for watching my video. 😁
@@afiqbazlibusairi To be fair, it doesn't really make that much sense for Toyota to sell the Raize alongside with the Ativa considering the equipment between the two are almost identical, but the Raize would definitely end up being more expensive.
This is unlike the Alza and the upcoming Veloz counterpart where it's supposedly the more "premium" model with extra features.
I saw the export document, Brunei's raize is assembled in Indonesia. I don't think Toyota sells Raize that many in Brunei. it's only around 20ish units delivered monthly now.
I like the front design by the raize..but the rear is i prepared with the ativa..
Suppose to be comparing high spec raize with high spec ativa..there is a different..a bit bias if comparing with the middle spec ativa with the high end raize..a lot of accessories are different between the two
here in Philippines the Ativa infotainment is on the Raize
what is the feeling when you shut the door on toyota? i tried ativa... it feels cheap, like myvi feeling 😬

To be honest I don't feel any differences between the 2 cars in terms of sound insulation . All comes down what tyre you have on. Overall the Raize feels for refine. But then again that could boil down to the Raize being a slightly new car.
