Rajon Rondo has confirmed that the Celtics are leaving Ray Allen out of their 10-year championship vacation this summer, which prompted me to want to tell the full story of how the rift started between Ray and the Celtics in the first place. Enjoy!

If I was Ray Allen I would have left as well, they mad cause he won a ring with miami, Boston management made it clear they didn't want him there by trying to keep trading him.

At the very least, invite him because he may decline anyways.

finally someone made a clip with the rational and TRUE reasoning. too many Celts fans refer to Ray as a traitor as if Ray was some long time Celtic. Ray was ran out of Boston and the seeds were planted very early, long before he actually did depart.
What stings Boston fans the most is not only did he go to Miami. Not only did he win a chip in Miami. But his signature career moment happened in Miami.

I think it was because he joined a team that went 73-9. It was about the mentality of joining that team. Taking the easy path. It was unlike Lebron, Wade, and Bosh making a team or Ray, Truth, and KG. He could've gone anywhere not CLE or GSW. He could've formed a team with any star (Kawhi, PG, Beal and Wall etc.)

It dates back quite a while, a lot further than when he left to Miami or even in 2012 which is what most of you probably think. The link to the stories I used are in the description. If you gonna hate on Ray Allen, hate the celtics management. The managent didn't put 100% effort in Allen, So he didn't put 100% effort in the team. He already was the one who took the paycut. Took the least amount of shots. And then every single time his name got mentioned in trade rumors.

I am upset, because i really liked and respected Judas, and he then turned on everyone.
and management offered him double the money and a no trade clause to make it right, but he didn't have the dignity and respect for the team/fans/teammates to answer the phone......not even make a phone call, just to answer the incoming calls that came.
and then had the balls to do interviews saying he had no desire to leave Boston.......he's a unbelievably massive tool and deserves to be called out as such. He COULD have been a legendary Celtic, with his number in the rafters and his name a part of the most storied franchise in NBA history.
but he decided to turn his back on everything and just be a soulless hired gun.......so he deserves no forgiveness from Boston, from the team, or the players. to hell with him

Celtics wouldn't have won the championship without a lot of guys that year. We really got out of the playoffs by the skin of our teeth. I'm not sure there is another championship team out there that won it all without winning a road game until Round 3. If we didn't have Sam Cassell and PJ Brown that year we probably wouldn't have even won. Rajon Rondo was a massive part of that team. Look at Bird, McHale's injury hell from the late 80s-early 90s -- you'll find everything from nails driven into feet to constant back surgeries. Disrespectful in that they benched great players and let politics run the show...how can a bum like Rondo act alpha when clearly his over-rated skills cannot match to Ray Allen's? If I was fortunate enough to be in the Celtics' club, or NBA family, I wouldn't publicly discuss any dirty laundry. This whole issue could have been handled with less drama and more professionalism. Airing the matter on national TV serves no good purpose and just adds to strain and hurt feelings. Keep up the videos.

And somehow rondo/KG believe they had the right to tell ray allen which team he could sign with, which is beyond ridiculous. Ray took less money, they tried to trade em multiple times, then cut him out of the offense, but it's all his fault right? And a reunion tour for a team that won 1 ring? Please. Garnett was behind the entire don't invite ray thing, rondo was only the mouthpiece.

S/O DOM2K! The video was thorough and answered afew questions I had about the Big Three. IMO Celtics Brass didn't have to include Ray Allen in a package deal with Rajon Rondo to be traded to another team. Rondo was the problem and to avoid paying Allen Celtics Management tried to get rid of him as well. The way I see it, Ray Allen was mistreated and he took matters into his own hands. If I was in his position I would've walked the same way. If Paul Pierce was really concerned about his teammate leaving he could've talked to management in the organization. Truthfully,I think Kevin Garnett was salty because of how Allen left. Eiher way Ray Allen is an NBA World Champion with Boston and Miami.

This is the first of your videos that I've seen and after watching the whole thing I'm definitely going to subscribe to your channel. You present your side of the story and facts in a very cool, calm, and collected way. You don't go to fast or let your emotions get the better of you and just present your video. I like that. You don't need to get all excited and start yelling and cussing and dropping F bombs everywhere. Thank you for that. Very enjoyable and I will be subscribing. You just earned another follower. Right on man!! 😎😎

Rondo being there and no Ray is what annoys me. Rondo was not a big part of that team but Ray definitely was. Get over it divas he made a business decision.

Ray Allen is one of my favorite players. I live in Dallas, my Mavs. Rondo has no credit in this state.
I would've listen if he said the world is round.

Ray should’ve won the Finals MVP back then. He was playing out of his mind that season, playoffs and made the biggest plays that Finals.

i thought rondo is the problem he had also issues with garnett and ray allen. ray just wanted to have peace before the games and in practice he had his ritual going

I am on the same page as you man, went through all the same phases. But RAy was my favourite player in the NBA since he came in the NBA, along with Iverson, so i got over it after 1 or 2 seasons. But it took time. And I never really love the Heat. It hurt a lot though cuz I had never supported a franchise like the BIG 3 '08 celtics (i'm from France btw) so it hurt to see them break up, but i'd heard several times about the trades and trade rumors so I understand Ray. Plus the man isn't social, he has slight OCD so the fact he didn't interact as much off the court with teammates wasn't news to anyone in the NBA and not personal to C's. He was the same everywhere. Would love to see Ray on the Area 21 someday. Would be an epic moment.

I was the biggest celtics fan you could possibly imagine back then, I’d used to call them the Big 4 with Rondo included. It saddens me that they still hold a grudge for Ray, I’d love to see them all back together reunited on that trip for good times sake.

Dom2K - thanks for this video. I never quite understood the background of Ray Allen's move to the Free Agency/Heat until now.
If you look at this as a business, I do not blame Allen for leaving for the Heat. I thought (immediately) that this would stretch defenses and open up the Heat's offense. The mere threat of Ray Allen left alone for a "set-up three" is frightening enough.
I don't know why Pierce and Garnett can't understand. The latter left Minnesota to become a champion w/Pierce in Boston. R.R. was deceptively effective as a Point Guard, and; Ray Allen was actually the missing link (stretching the defense).
    Good work product Dom. Namaste.

Don't compare this to KD, KD was the man in OKC, had the best PG in the NBA as a sidekick called him his brother and didn't call him to say what his decision was, never got even close to get his name mentioned in a deal, Ray Allen is different although I don't support him about not gathering a meeting with the team to explain why, except Rondo get him out the way, hate that guy.

    •  5 років тому +1

KD left because OKC wasnt going to win a title. thats not exactly a devilish thing. Neither is Ray wanting to leave b/c quite frankly he didnt like the Celtics that much.

Ray Allen left a declining big-3 in Boston, while he was declining in order to be a role player on a superteam
KD left a prime OKC, while he was in his prime, to join a "superteam" and form a big-4 with the team that narrowly beat him and he was so close to beating them, he had 3 chances to get 1 win and he just left them.

FINALLY! Someone who mentions the WHOLE story. Bro I never seen a team care less about a key player than Boston with Allen. It was mind boggling. I remember when the Mayo deal happened. I thought at the time it was a terrible move and here we go again. Then it fell through. It was like Ray's entire career there was a game of musical chairs.
I'm also not the least bit surprised he and pierce and Garnett are not close. Different upbringing. They mingled in different social circles. Hard for them to relate to each other outside of basketball I'm sure.
