    There no lubricant in wd40 contact cleaner it’s just isopropyl alcohol and heptane.

    The crimp things you’re looking for are called “ferrules” . And the cable thingy is called a “strain relief”. 🤙🏼

    We used to buy VCR recorders down the pub in the 80's and 90's. They always had the mains cables cut off as well. Never came with the remote. Strange.😂🤣

    • @reg2590
      @reg2590 Місяць тому

      Not strange - the police once told me that burglars cut of the cable to make them easier to carry...
      On a less sinister note, someone may cut off the cable to make it safe from children/people rummaging in a skip or indeed, just to use the cable and plug.

  • @pmyhill
    @pmyhill Місяць тому +1

    Glad to see you've still got all your fingers 😂😂. Definitely need to get some WD40 lubricating oil on it though, that was their version of contact cleaner

    One reason why we have fuses in our plugs is because we have 32amp mains circuits. The fuse is to stop the cable on the appliance from having a meltdown in case of a short. I have a few bits of Erbauer stuff, but just drill sets and hole saws. Have had them a few years and have found them to be ok. Screwfix and B&Q sell them in the UK.

  • @chrisnoskillsexperienceday9421
    @chrisnoskillsexperienceday9421 Місяць тому +3

    The fuse is rated for the cable, the cable is rated for the appliance

    The spring collet on the end of the saw has a pin inside to lock the pin. They get very hot whilst sawing so end up rusting solid. Sounds daft but submerge the collet in white vinegar overnight and it will dissolve the rust. Clean and dry it and add light oil and it should open and close easily. That one has been well abused so don't expect it to last too long. The windings burn up. Only £30 in Lidl middle aisle every now and then, so not worth wasting money on fixing

    Having watched Dean Dohertys channel for a while he's often able to repair erbauer tools with parts by other manufacturers who do provide spares, so might be worth a try.

    Looks like the Torsion Spring has moved out of line easy fix, and that part is easy to get if u get a cheap Chinese spring. The blade is meant to wobble like that, similar to a jigsaw that needs a bit of movement.

  • @Roy_C4
    @Roy_C4 Місяць тому

    was gonna say is it the right blade for the recip.

  • @grahamworf7713
    @grahamworf7713 Місяць тому +2

    If you can't get the blade all the way in it's likely that a blade tip snapped off and is stopping your blade going all the way in.

    Is that normal WD40? I think it is the contact cleaner version. I don't normally use WD40 anymore. I use Weldtite TF2 instead. A lot better for those powertools.

    When you don't have wd40 or other oil but you have a vehicle, go get a few drops off of your car's dipstick. Saved a lot of frustration from rusty tools doing that.

    • @anthonydenn4345
      @anthonydenn4345 Місяць тому

      That's a great idea. Vegetable oil is not bad either. But just as a last resort kinda thing, it can get gummy.
      Any waste oil would work really in a pinch. I agree it doesn't need to be clean dealing with rusty tools.

    Tools at car boots are almost always nicked from a builder's van. You get some idea from the other stuff the guy is selling or (as in this case) you know the backstory.
    1100w at 240v is only about 4.5A, 13A is wat above the rated current.

    MCB's and fuses wont protect your house from burning down believe me had a electrical fire at the weekend because whoever installed the oven and hob they left the flex cable to the ignitor on top of the oven and it eventually caught fire

      Good grief mate I hope everyone is OK! I agree, they won't if there's a fault with them or if they're over rated. When you install the correct rated breaker they *should* protect against most issues but they're never fool proof. Either way, hopefully no one got hurt and no one lost any belongings buddy
