Not surprised to see the Digitech Drop here. I bought one after watching you use it all the time. It's amazing for instantly getting in that Queens of The Stone Age low tuning without having to put super thick strings on the guitar 👍
As someone who plays hard rock and metal (Alter Bridge all the way to death metal/core), the Drop honestly is a must. So many tunings that are in my reach now. Only rival is the transpose stuff that’s in the Neural plug-ins for instance.
I don’t have the Timmy but I have the danelectro transparent od and it’s one of my favorite drive pedals. It’s a close approximation of the Timmy and it just feels like a “secret weapon” type of pedal. When you don’t really want to change your fundamental amp sound but you just want more of it. It’s especially fantastic for tightening up muddy pickups or getting more umph out of lower output ones. Having bass AND treble controls on od pedals is indispensable. The best part was it was only about $60 US.
Chroma Console is absolutely spectacular. Just the feature of programming your own LFO is worth it. Something I only ever saw in empress zoia before, and that "pedal" requires degree in some sort of IT discipline to operate. This is simple, analog. You turn the knob - it remembers how you turned it and recreates it. Brilliant.
Shocked, #1 is my very favorite of all time, too. It is a wow factor. It’s thee very best overdrive tone I’ve ever heard and I’ve got or had everything
that guitar sounds silly good. standouts were the SY200 , Chroma and Timmy. Been a fan of the Timmy for a long time but man it just makes everything sound..better.
Fully agree on the Tim(my) and the JHS pedals included. Anyhow, I did just last week replace my Timmy with the Nordvang Custom Skyline, which is an interpretation of the Timmy, and that is even better. My other favorites are: - Lovepedal Mk12 (Tonebender I & II inspired) - Hermida Dover Drive (Eric Johnson in a box) - Durham Electronics Crazy Horse (obviously Crazy Horse in a box) - Barber Electronics FUGGEDABOUTIT (best conditioner/boost ever, does to modelers/profilers what other pedals only promise)
I have a favourite pedal that sort of does what the anasounds pedal does but not and its the j rockett APE, cant recommend it enough if you have delay pedals that has dry/wet functionality or if you just really like the EP-3 pre. Peace
Nah... A Timmy does have that Wow thing man. It's sooo good. I play on a totally clean platform usually. No breakup at all. I like having my pedals do all the driving and stuff. Don't get me wrong... I like doing the dirty amp thing as well... but my 98% is straight clean. The Timmy is one of the most versatile drives ever created. Granted... in my opinion the Wampler Pantheon is better. Barely. There's something in its tone stack or the resonance or something that pleases my ears just a little more. But it's a close thing. Another thing... the MXR version of the Timmy... I a/b'd them... I cannot believe you can get such a perfect pedal for so little. I had zero trouble dialing those 2 pedals (MXR Timmy and the normal one) in to sound the same. I mean the EXACT same. Wild shit. One more quick add on... I got a 1981 Inventions LVL the other day.... fuck me man. I'm blown away. Normally I don't succumb to "hype." And I really didn't with the LVL. I was definitely curious when it came out... but i wasn't throwing my wallet at them or whatever. I just happened to see one on sale for less than 200 and I went for it. .... I do not know how someone can put SOOO much fucking mojo in a 2 knob pedal. Truly impressive. Lol... Last thing I promise.... Teisco Overdrive. If you're into Timmy, Pantheon, etc... Get it. Chefs kiss. Now I'm done. 😅
Hi, fair enough question. I've been asked a couple of times actually, and it's because of the reach of my UA-cam channel and Instagram etc. It's not like Boss or Strymon would give me signature gear, but there are a bunch of small builders out there. And it's an okay marketing strategy from them since I reach a decent amount of people through social media.
I love you, but I absolutely hate your taste in pedals!!!!!!!!!!! Boss BC2 for overdrive/distortion... Unless you want to shell out of the money for a Greg fryer mayday pedal!!!!!!!!!! & The Greg fryers treble boosters / The Plus or the super, or The special, which has both of those and four more!!! The boss CE20 chorus, which has the boss CE1 sound, and many others, which is perfect for virtually any chorus need!!! I can get Brian May, Robin trower, Andy Summers, Alex lifeson from Rush, .... Like I said... WHATEVER/WHOEVER YOU NEED!!!!!!!! And the only available phaser, which is available, because several are not available, sadly, anymore... Including the Homebrew electronics pedals!!!!!!!!!!... They were spectacular, and you should get them if you can find them!!!!!!!!!! THAT ONE sounded absolutely perfect for any queen phaser sounds, heart, Robin trower... Whatever you wanted!!!!!!!!!! -or the not way too thick phaser sound that all the other ones give!!!!!!!!!!... the MXR phase 45!!!!!!!!!!.. The aphex aural Exciter guitar pedal, which makes your guitar sound like it has new strings and has suddenly become much more articulate!!!!!!!!!! And I'm pretty sure I have a Boss DD-20 digital delay, that gives me stereo outputs, and what I need, that is 900 and 1800 milliseconds of delay for my live Brian May settings!... Although informed sources say 800 and 1600, but I prefer my settings!!!!!!! Those seem a little too fast for me!!!!!!!!!!.. I may have forgotten a few, possibly 🙀😸!!!!!!! But ... ABSOLUTELY SUGGEST YOU TRY ANY / ALL OF THEM OUT!!!!!!!!!!.... The only thing I could add, that it got from Mark Reynolds, who helped in the restoration of Brian May's guitar in the late '90s, whom I do know personally, is that you turn all of the tone off on the amp your playing through before you use a treble booster , unless it needs a bit more bottom end, which I found on a couple of amps I've played through!!!!!!!!!!... A general rule of thumb!!!!!!!!!!... Nah... Let's make it A LAW!!!!!!!!!! IT'S ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL, AND CRUCIAL!!!!!!!!!!... Absolutely why so many treble booster demos I've seen on UA-cam sound like TOTAL CRAP!!!!!!!!!!
@@Just_play_guitar 😸... YOU WISH!!!!!!!!!! I've been playing since 1973, and I know some people!!! These are the facts!!! - take them, or leave them... Up to you!!!
Let me know your favorites! 👇🏻

The most aesthetically pleasing channel on UA-cam! Congrats on 10 years
2:00 references Jack White and plays a riff from his archnemesis The Black Keys afterwards - Legend
Didn’t Jack sign the black keys to his label?
Could be. After some years they buried the hatchet apparently

10 Great Pedals, 96 Bitter Beings
Yes, quite
Such a great riff.
The Fuzzrocious 420 always stood out to me when I saw you using it. I really need to get one after drooling over it for so many years.
Thank you for not making some long intro of why this and why that!
Just bought the chroma because of your review..so excited 😊

All the pedals sound glorious but I have to know, where did you get the strap on the green guitar? it's gorgeous.
Fenris sounded amazing

I definitely feel og on this channel. I knew it would be the Timmy.
great video! I liked the boss sy-200. neat pedal.
I remember the Timmy back from the "Sound Like Tame Impala" video, good to see it's still around
Thanks for this video!
9:30 Roberto Manfinfla
9:39 what's that riff??
CKY - 96 Bitter Beings
Love my fjord fuzz. I have the Sol.
What is the riff at 9:32?!
CKY - 96 Quite Bitter Beings
What guitar strap is that?
Etwood! Check them out on insta!

No Vick Audio Mount Pleasant? I seem to recall you made a video on why it's a pedal you will never sell.
9:13 my god 😂😂😂😂😂
May be we can start using a term like 'full range' overdrive instead of the confusing and even somewhat misleadin term ' transparent' ?
I think transparent actually describes it pretty well.
drawing a blank - what's the riff at the end of the Drop section?
Cky - 96 quite bitter beings
surprised the JHS Pedals Electro-Harmonix Soul Food 'Meat & 3' Mod didn't make the cut
You should try the God City Instruments pedals
what amp are you playing :) ?
Milkman The Amp Stereo

First time watching your channel. Love your playing
Thanks man!
You're in for a treat. Still my favorite gear channel here.
epic!
Nice
No DRV? One of the best ever
The 9:33 riff sounds like c.k.y. big time
Because it is 😂. It's been a looong time since I last heard them, but man, instantaneous.🤙
No Carrot? No legitimacy.
Why in the hell would you get a signature pedal?

Why not?
What? Norwegian and not playing black metal?
