Well, if it helps, just pretend when you fell down the sewers, all 3 of you were knocked out for sometime. Cloud was just the first to wake up. As it kinda looks like the 3 of you got placed there and not fell down to that position. There was a door in that room and it's locked. Only by beating the rat boss, were you able to be free to move on. Which means, they woke up in the morning, fought the rat boss, then spend the entire afternoon getting out of the sewers and got to the train graveyard by night fall.

@@oktabriyandiyunus9117 , a remake isn't usually trying to fuck the story so bad that they had to create nonsensical ghosts. Also, those whispers are supposed to be there to keep the story intact, but they appear whenever they please nonetheless. Nomura's nonsense will get back at him some day...
I was not expecting them to do Barrett so well. His funny moments are legitimately funny, he's delightfully corny at times, his screaming at the plate aftermath actually hurt, and he's unnecessarily handsome. Best boi

@Robert Hunter that may or may not be true. There have been other modern corporations who basically did. Such as coke there was a court case over it. I believe it was in Latin America
Sephiroth - Like Aerith- ist self aware of the past. Since he knows that he was defeated in the main timeline, he wants to defy destiny and create his own future in which he succeeds. Given that both him and Aerith are resting inside the livestream (which holds all the memories of the earth) it would make sense that they are both aware of the past outcome, even if they are inside a time loop (aka the "remake"). Aerith was afraid to change destiny from the beginning, because of the uncertainty that it held in regards of whether she and her friends would succeed in the end. She had come to terms of her own death. She didn't want to change fate for her own good. She only took the final step back then and there with the portal, because she knew that all the timelines will eventually collapse and collide due to sephiroths actions. And in order to stop him, she had to play his game, too. I am not a native speaker, so I hope you could understand what I'm trying to say lol
Would that also explain Cloud saying "but i killed you" to Sephiroth in the beginning? Cause that still confuses me. Along with many other things. May be because I played the OG after the remake, but they added a lot of unnecessary elements to this game, especially if it is to be interpreted the way you did, it just makes little sense to new players, even after they play the OG to get context cause the impact of it isn't the same.
I thought so until multiple friends who had never played OG FF7 just casually said "Oh i just assumed that was another character coming later" XD some people just accept weird shit
3:30 My thoughts exactly. In the original, my first playthrough ever, the story built up Sephiroth so much that when he finally appeared on screen, I felt I was in the presence of an in-game legend and even watching him battle against a dragon, I was in awe of his strength and magic. Because he was introduced so quickly in this game, steals that same impact away from those that have never experienced the first.
They've discussed this in great detail in interviews. Even people who never played FF7 know about Sephiroth, hiding him and building him up is pointless because we already know he's powerful and terrifying.
@@Seraph821 Except even when you know about him hiding him until the end of Disc 1 has a great impact I played the game knowing full well who Sephiroth was and it was still satisfying to have him remain a mystery for 1 third of the game The remake overuses him to the point where it's just annoying and cheap
I got tired of Sephitoth in this game. I can’t even listen to his epic song anymore, which I used to love. He was one of my favorite characters ever, and still is if I focus only on the FF VII classic and forget all the rest.
@@carinainmotion3100 Right? In terms of traits (not story), he's lost all his humanity, and thus--he's no longer relatable. He starts off this game in a god-like state instantly making him otherworldy and therefore his story is less tragic, whereas in the original he started off like a normal human, then we watch him break and transcend into godliness.
No sins for Cloud and Tifa approaching their landlord, who gives them free rent, with the intent to shake her down for water filters that they end up using for themselves? Like seriously who would do that.

"When you examine this closely, Aerith comes off as a save scummer, reloading her save because she didn't get the best ending." That right there might be one the best reviews of FF7R.
Not really because what she’s kind of trying to keep things the same it’s sephiroth who is trying to change his fate and that’s the reason so many things change. aerith is only reacting to the change and trying to stop him but it’s still a good sin and a great video.
For sin 13 Aerith doesn't leave right away like the original and shows that she wants to stick around so the whispers attack her to get her to run away.
Got the impression Aerith was hounded by Whispers because she was about to wonder off and miss Cloud entirely. That or XIII, Chadley looks very similar to Hope. But really white haired characters, who aren't old, are weird in the FFVII context. I think it was a deliberate choice to make Sephi white-haired since it gives him this inhuman and ethereal look. Would makes sense for Chadley as well but for Leslie it seems to be a random color choice except for white=cool logic.
@@illusionofquality979 It seems like they forgot what the white-haired trope originally represented. In Japanese Mythology, Silver/White hair was an indication of demonic possession and/or influence (Unless your old), Sephiroth has Silver Hair because he was injected with Jenova cells before he was born, which is what allowed Jenova to pretty much influence him and commit the atrocities that he did. Same with Dante, Vergil, and Nero in DMC, it's not because it's cool, but because there is a mythological meaning behind it. Also, Leslie is supposed to be one of President Shinra's sons, so where did the white hair come from?
4:45 actually if you believe the post AC Sephiroth theory then... The whispers were holding Aerith in place because Sephiroth was giving Cloud a hallucination that makes Cloud slow down. Annoys me that you need subtitles on in this game to understand some of the dialogue. It's not often but, there are a few points where its not possible to hear/understand what's being said without subtitles. Most offensive are all the parts where dialogue is coming over the radio, without subtitles Tseng and the Turks are just making rumbling noises at the end of the Graveyard chapter. And, having subtitles on forces you to read them, distracting you from a, frankly, beautiful game.
@@benwhiley9680 to be honest, I think it's a thing in many modern video games in general, especially when dialogue is continuing while you are roaming around. That's why I always leave the subtitles on. I could stand far away and still get what some npc is saying somewhere, not only in this game, but others as well 🙈
@@benwhiley9680 If you think that a small thing such as subtitles takes away from the perfection of this game then you are an idiot. I bet you are one of the same people that complains about subtitles in a movie because you didn't go to a theatre to "read". Dumbass.
I don't know how people seem to keep overlooking that Tifa clearly said Barret's name when they first got to the pillar, with Aerith standing right behind her and looking at her as she talks. Also, Wedge didn't fall through the hole the party did. He was on a different section of floor and they had to climb back up to get to him.
Woah wait! So, a door frame can stop cloud’s buster sword while he is actively trying to swing it, but later he can cut a train and buildings in half because reasons?!
44:35 - Technically, Sephiroth broke into this timeline first by showing up to cloud and giving him illusions and so on for the rest of the game. It’s why he’s more prevalent in this section of the story than the original. As for as I know, Aerith has become aware of the changes being done once the whispers started attacking her. So reasonable speaking, it’s Sephiroth who’s save-cheating cause he’s forced a new future (having cloud and co. Kill destiny) where he knows how he lost before and can change it now in a new save.
THANK you, I couldnt figure out why i was so confused when he brought that up- this is the perfect counter comment and exactly what my thoughts were on the game
Fun fact: Jesse's bomb in the original WASN'T meant to destroy the whole reactor. She even says so in the original if you talk to her while in the Avalanche hideout. This is the line. Jessie: Oops... Hey, look at the news... What a blast. Think it was all because of my bomb? But all I really did was just make it like the computer told me. Oh no! I must've made a miscalculation somewhere
The game never said it was not meant to destroy the reactor. It said exactly what you said. Jesse not wanting to destroy the reactor is a retcon that makes no sense. They even risked lives to just get passcodes for doors. And not to just destroy a core that Shinra could fix over the weekend.
19:57 The Buster Sword was originally Angeal's, Zack didn't get it until after his last visit with Aerith so she wouldn't think anything of Cloud having the Buster Sword.
That's based upon crisis core. In OG FF7, it was Zack as angeal didn't exist. So for more of us who really only played OG FF7, then he is correct. I only know of angeal cause I just recently played CC as someone told me about story changes.

You could argue it would negate the worry of using anything to slow the fall, but, I mean, just because something doesn't kill you, doesn't mean it won't hurt. It's things like that which demonstrate doing a remake right,.
"Unless the whispers are trying to make sure Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus occur" Yes, actually, literally. The three Whispers who aid the Harbinger are the three villains from Advent Children trying to ensure their own creation.
No amount of “read the Ultimania” will change the fact that there is zero merit behind this argument. Cloud and friends won in the original, and I don’t think “remnants” of Sephiroth would want them to win, no matter how badly they may or may not want to make their selfish dream come true. Also, Advent Children is terrible; I’d rather pretend it doesn’t exist.
Also, the gunner guy whisper has an attacked with the same name as the guns that the gunner remnant had. And, the three combined into bahamut, and the three remnants summoned bahamut in AC
So, much like anyone with two working brain cells who's first reaction to change is *not* to cry, he actually seems to dig it, even if I disagree where he thinks it's going. So, since you guys can't handle someone liking change, does that mean you think his opinion was bought?
@@TheDapperDragon You're making a pretty big assumption. I like the idea of what the ending caused alot. The execution was fucking awful. This guy are sick. Jessie never intended to blow up the whole reactor in OG. In the HQ basement, she is visually stressed out about the size of the explosion and even commented that it was never meant to be so big. She said there must have been a miscalculation in the instructions she used.
@Darrow Au Andromedus they are talking about the original game, there was never any cut scene showing shinra blowing up the reactor, just it exploding from the outside. If you talk to jesse later on in the hideout under the bar she comments on how the explosion was way bigger then she expected.
I think logicaly, what he meant, is that a small explosion (only destroying that small part of the reactor) is useless, they could fix it in no time, making all the work to stop the reactor useless. YOU NEED A BIG EXPLOSION TO GET THAT EFFECT. In the original, they always wanted to cause a big explosion, even if the result was even bigger than intended. The difference in the remake is that they seemed to play a vereu small explosion that wouldn´t make much of a difference.
That's not entirely true, I finished remake few days ago and went to original with fresh memory. Indeed she said that she must've made a miscalculation somewhere but she also says right after that "Hey, that was my bomb's debut. Makes me kinda proud", I wouldn't call it being stressed.
For one of the first sins about the bomb timing, while 30 seconds would've been enough to get a safe distance away from the bomb, the reactor exploding would cause heavy panic among the facility, which could lead to them being caught immediately They need to leave the area before it explodes to prevent arrest duh
Another one, in the OG, AVALANCHE DID intend to only disable the reactor. If you talk to Jessie, she mentions that the bomb wasn't supposed to be that big. It was just more subtle there.
Aerith actually kind of *is* trying to make sure Advent Children doesnt happen, as if Sephiroth is defeated in the same manner as the original, he'll continue exist as a sort of planet ghost leeching off the life stream and waiting for the opportunity to come back again and again. Some lines even imply that this Sephiroth isn't the one from the original timeline, but the one from Advent Children, and hes trying to get a better ending for himself. This would make Sephiroth the save scummer, and Aerith the anti-scummer summer.
Sephy merged with a planet-vampire alien thing that is generally rejected by the life stream. He'll keep coming back as long as he retains his sense of self. Might not be possible to destroy him without convincing him to let go of his hated. Even if you destroy the planet, he could survive in space as per Jenova. So Advent children could still happen either way.

Some of the sins is either they forgot or misinterpreted what happened in the OG and the whole Remake game. For example the bomb from Jessie was always meant not to destroy the reactor. It was just not shown clearly. In the OG, ifyou talk to Jessie in the basement of Seventh Heaven after the first run she will have a dialogue where she is wondering why it had so much damage.
Yes but it takes all the consequences of being a terrorist away (which is what they are think of the now powerless hospitals) and shifts all the blame being like "even tho the terrorist's bomb failed let's finish the job so they don't have to be responsible for millions of deaths despite that had to be something they knew would happen and where willing to risk".

Shinra had more than enough time to pin the blame on Avalanche since they were ALWAYS ready for a scapegoat. Wutai was just the easiest boogeyman. Avalanche presented itself and that's only thanks in part to Barrett who is somewhat making it up as he goes along himself. Jessie is a dems expert. They even make logical conjectures of said high yield including the reactor itself just going off from the damage from the bomb. An explosion decided to breach in very different and there's nothing around to go off from it. I don't think there was anything to fear from blowing open a wall. The obvious answer to the Scarlet sin is that it WAS planned Is asking why he's carrying around the Buster Sword a weird question. It was never a point in CC. Aerith could just be under the impression that certain member of Solider First Class uses the weapon. And just because she was locked in Shinra labs would mean she would know intimate details about Solider either Eh Corneo is probably reocuppied with getting some action. Likely that he heard a duo is cleaning house in his cup and he decided to throw the Hell House at that. Cloud and Aerith also don't use their real names in the mansion so unless he's seen them in person - there's no reason to assume the tail he was gonna get tonight are also the champs. Despite Shinra (the government) walling off Wall Market Don Corneo due to his wealth and influence probably still has an end. After all Palmer can be seen running his outshape ass trying to catch one of the strippe---Oh I mean employees working at the Inn. It's easy to imagine that any higher up from Public Security would have went on the hunt for Barrett but Corneo either offered or was roped into sending his lackeys instead. Highly likely that Public Security was doing sus shit like setting up perimeters next to maintenance access areas around the pillar in edition to them quarantining undercity folks. And Barrett being Barret and having Shinra assume blame for EVERYTHING went in guns blazing. The trap door leads to Corneo's pet's den as well as a route to a safe room Corneo is holding himself over in. Maybe....um...his MEN built it, Dart? Shinra doesn't control the world. They simply have the exclusivity of harnessing the planet's life force. They also have several privatized industries including a military that blows the fuck out of any army on the planet so it'd be nearly impossible to challenge them. Even Wutai couldn't. They only fought back because their home was in danger of being turned into a reactor site. Jessie was not a demolitions expert, she was a dancer/actress at the gold saucer, until her dad's accident working for Shinra. Shinra's refusal or inability to take care of her dad led her to join avalanche, and it's sort of implied she learned how to make bombs on the internet or something.
The reason Shinra leaves Aerith alone is because they need her to willingly lead them to the promised land. They tried to force her mother but obviously that didn't work.
Surprised you didn't mention the fact that Cloud snuck out of Aerith's house, Ran into her while leaving, they made their way through the broken highway, arrive in Wall Market, fight in the Coliseum, dance at the Honeybee Inn, attend Corneos audition, get lost in the sewers, arrive in the train graveyard, fight their way to the pillar, AANNDDD battle the turks ALL in one night

Really?) repeated sewers and sewer boss, Hojo's dungeon... I am mostly happy with the game, but that is a lot of misplaced resources.
What Cloud being a mercenary have to do with him trying to get money? Remeber that in the og game he went into a pool with semi-naked men and wore a pretty dress. And I don't know you, but adding more to Midgar and its characters which in the original was rather lackluster, isn't a bad thing.
I don't think looking for cats is in his character. Sure: you could argue he's doing it for Aerith cuz.. it's Aerith, but nah. Killing monsters is more believable.
I didn't like like the looking for people or cats side quests; the big question is how are they gonna tackle places like nebbelheim or the golden saucer - even cosmo canyon had more going on then midgar in the OG.
For sin number 58, in order for Aeriths powers to manifest properly, she has to willingly go along with Shinras plan, which is why they just keep an eye on her until later when her hand is forced for the safety of the team.
Thank you for taking off a sin for the boss fight and adding one for the fact that Sephiroth sounds so much like a kingdom hearts character cause it was kinda annoying.
Nomura's fingerprints were all over the final hours of the game, complete with AC-levels of "Subtlety". I don't care what position he was in, I recognized Toriyama and Nomura's handiwork when the point calls for it.
I've spent the last week watching FF7R related videos after finishing the game and this may have been the most amusing one. Besides the clever humor, a lot of the points made clear a number of odd moments I felt while playing but couldn't quite identify. Square needs to watch this.
So many odd moments, it was hard for me to fully enjoy the game. Fillers levels of the game at 40 h made me stop playing and watched the rest on maximillian streams lol

@@Killer_Kris7 I wouldn't call this voice actor a POS, but absolutely, George Newbern was better at voicing Sephiroth and nailing Sephiroth's tone. Japan kept the oriignal voice actors for nearly all of their roles, I think, while we changed nearly all of them. I won't say I'm fully upset about that, the new cast kills it. I prefer Quinton Flynn and Crispin Freeman for Reno and Rude as well, but I'll sacrifice them if we could just get Newbern back.
I hated the whispers and that Sephiroth is in almost every cutscene. Totally ruined the ending of disc 1 where you find President Shinra. The original made Sephiroth a lot more scary.
Because it made sense to keep him as a secret/mystery in 1997. In 2020, basically everyone with a little bit of knowledge in Final Fantasy knows who Sephiroth is, hence there's no point in keeping him as this ultimate mystery that he was in the past.
@@iCanHasRandomness Yup - finished all the hard modes, all enemy skills, Pride and Joy is gone, all the dresses, etc - but I seem to always get close to beating Jules and make ONE fatal error (usually around 30-35 reps).
I've always seen purpose of the timer as not to reach a safe distance from the explosion (because it wasn't intended to be huge), but to reach a safe distance from the scene of the crime before the bomb goes off. A bomb going off will raise alarms, attract attention and create more obstacles to overcome, basically more hassle for the party if they're still in the vicinity.
Another thing that annoys me about Tseng is that his hair is the same length during current time and during the flashback to when Aerith was young. But if you've played crisis core, his hair is noticeably shorter there, probably hinting at being younger at the time, and that game would be directly in the middle of ff7's story and the Aerith childhood flashback. Guess they forgot
Eh, Cloud didn't do the "half now, half later" arrangement because Tifa gave him the puppy dog eyes and he melted into a puddle, ya know like he always does when she asks anything of him.
Well, Cloud's backstory could have something to do with it, ig. In the remake they play them off as childhood friends, but really Tifa was just the popular girl™ and Cloud was insecure and looking for a way to fit in
@@cr34tur333 Point is, the "sin" this video uses really isn't much of one because it has a pretty simple explanation: Cloud isn't all that good of a mercenary, and also lacks even basic negotiation skills.
41:48 When you said we've gone backwards with censorship that is very literal, in the original game swearing was censored like crazy and only ever hidden behind the typical censored text. Now blood is getting censored which I think is worse than the original way of things if you're expecting kids to play a game like this which you really shouldn't then why censor blood over swearing? Blood is something all of us are composed of and something kids will be far more familiar with, swearing was something wrong because adults started using aggressive sounding words that could be used to offend someone. Why are we censoring what is natural and not censoring something that us humans made and for a few years considered to be wrong? Why is it wrong to show blood now? You're telling me no kid has ever seen blood before? They've never had a nose bleed before? Is blood offensive or something? It can be greatly used to increase the creepiness of a scene and is not outwardly offensive in any way, it just shows the cruelty of the villain spilling other people's blood and killing them. When and why did our problem become blood and not swearing? I understand in the case of Mortal Kombat but in the case of blood, no matter how much of it is shown there is never a time when it will be offensive or can corrupt an innocent mind. Only mentally unnerving in scenes that use blood well, I'm an adult and I don't really care about swearing to be honest, but people used to want to censor it and teach kids not to use it because it can be used to offend people, blood however is something we will see in life every now and again and is something we learn about early on without censorship, as a kid I even knew what killing was and wasn't offended by it in that sense, no killing's not good, it's horrible actually but it was something I knew about and killing cannot be directly offensive to you. Having a game with swearing and censored blood is like raising a kid by feeding him sweets all day and making homework his reward, it's really bassackwards. If you're not gonna censor the swearing then don't bother censoring the blood either, if it's not made for kids then don't make it for kids, don't bother censoring, Capcom gets it, so why?
It's more of a contextual issue. Blood in the original game was not very graphic because of the low polygon count. However, in high def, it is might appear more gratuitous and visceral and might change the game's rating. I think the word sh1t is more acceptable than it was 25 years ago. It's the eff word that will give it a mature rating.
They released interviews with Nomura, Nojima & co. One of the things they mentioned was that they didn't expect that Jenova segment to be the most problematic one with regards to get the age rating they wanted. They had to change blood to the purple goop but not because they wanted that in the first place. Censorship standards have changed. Also I remember the trail of blood scene being quite shocking at first (granted, I was like 12). But, that was the intention.
honestly, in a world where outside of the upper levels of midgar there are giant worms, dragons and dinassoars with wheels, walking armed doesnt seem that uncommon.

@@patrickhill2595 That's not his point. Dartigan's point is that it makes it out to be like some grand bomb when it shouldn't. He brings that up in the 6th sin pointing out that very fact. What Dartigan meant was, for all intents and purposes that Avalanche knew the bomb Jesse designed should only be enough to destroy the pump and so its power should be very minimized but Jesse and the game makes it out to be like a grand huge explosion that you need upwards of 30 minutes to get away to safety. That's a red flag for you because why would a bomb designed to do barely any damage warrant such a distance for safety. Instead it should have been set for a small time like 1 minute or 30 seconds. For the way the bomb is made out to be, it doesn't feel like Jesse is telling the truth of how contained and weak it is.
The plan was to sneak in, killing guards as necessary, set the bomb to explode after they leave, then leave so as to not attract too much attention. The massive explosion was "explained" as being a reaction with the Mako, something that is not an issue when Jessie is just trying to blow up a door, besides the fact that the other alternative at that moment was to stay in a hallway that was continuing to collapse around them.
@@ProLaytonxPhoenix how is it a reach? It's the truth. I literally just replayed the original game a few days ago, Aerith gives him the flower and then leaves. Here she clearly had no intention of going anywhere until the whispers showed up to scare her off.

Right! The game was fantastic aside from the typical FF bs plot that goes on. That said, the plot is not bad all things considered. this confused me for weeks, as i beat it a while ago. It was actually this video where I watched the plate fall again. Because the way it fell, the part closest to the center spills over and this leaves an open spot in the middle. I like how no one ever mentions the population living atop the plate. The game states 50k live in the undercity slums (which my experience in the slums would contradict but whatever, I can accept it). If 50k live under it, then maybe 500k live on top. High-rise apartments and proper housing, layout, infrastructure etc on the plate would result in a considerably more densely populated area than the wooden shacks and lack of infrastructure found in the undercity. More people could live in that little bit of the Sector 8 plate we go through at the start of the game than all the slums we explore combined. But nope, never mentioned.

Because he was introduced so quickly in this game, steals that same impact away from those that have never experienced the first.
That's exactly what I was saying when I kept seeing him. Sephiroth feels cheap and cliche now.

This guy are sick. Jessie never intended to blow up the whole reactor in OG. In the HQ basement, she is visually stressed out about the size of the explosion and even commented that it was never meant to be so big. She said there must have been a miscalculation in the instructions she used.
Xavier Doe yeah the nuance is there. Most people wouldn’t catch the implication that it was actually shinra sabotage in the original
Dartigan, after writing each and every sin in this video: “Nailed it, I know, thank you. Moving on.”
For one of the first sins about the bomb timing, while 30 seconds would've been enough to get a safe distance away from the bomb, the reactor exploding would cause heavy panic among the facility, which could lead to them being caught immediately
They need to leave the area before it explodes to prevent arrest duh
Another one, in the OG, AVALANCHE DID intend to only disable the reactor. If you talk to Jessie, she mentions that the bomb wasn't supposed to be that big. It was just more subtle there.
Aerith actually kind of *is* trying to make sure Advent Children doesnt happen, as if Sephiroth is defeated in the same manner as the original, he'll continue exist as a sort of planet ghost leeching off the life stream and waiting for the opportunity to come back again and again. This would make Sephiroth the save scummer, and Aerith the anti-scummer summer.
Sephy can come back everytime? then why he need to change fate?
Sephy merged with a planet-vampire alien thing that is generally rejected by the life stream. He'll keep coming back as long as he retains his sense of self.
30:38 Tseng is confirmed in the Ultimania to be 30, so this flashback puts him as 15-16 year-old. Guess the people at SQEX forgot that side characters do age too.
Same. I wouldn’t question it if he was in his late 30s or something
"Sephiroth has spent too much time in the Kingdom Hearts universe." Dude, Nomura has spent way too much time there. A year ago I was disappointed by KH3 and now they're adding whispers, filler and padding to my most beloved game of all time. Did not ruin it, the gameplay besides the filler is great, but 35-45 hrs for the first 10th of the game and the final boss is Sephiroth? Makes me think they could have released part 2 a lot sooner instead of trainyard, whisper, Midgar rubble, dumb sidequests (Cloud is a mercenary, but cats? Really?) repeated sewers and sewer boss, Hojo's dungeon... I am mostly happy with the game, but that is a lot of misplaced resources.
Ben Trosper I'm with you on every point. I expected better
Disagreed with all of this, for the most part. Read the Ultimania. I’d explain but it’s easier to just direct you to that lol
Every final fantasy character sounds like a kingdom hearts character.
Magic Warrior, right? It’s almost as if Kingdom Hearts was fashioned after a certain game series but I can’t quite put my finger on it...
dragoness615 Yeah. After all, FF did come first.
They won't, if only for the fact they will inevitably make bank off the hardcore fanbase that will voluntarily lap up whatever half-assed product they make with the FFVII IP.
@@kaptenlemper But it expanded on the story. If I got the og as the remake I'd be pissed as hell since they skimmed over half the damn story. It takes 4 hours to get through midgar in the OG.

The original made Sephiroth a lot more scary.
that was not close to the end of disc one
There is way too much Sephiroth in the remake.. takes a way the mystery.
Ikr? It ruined the mystery and mystic persona of sephiroth
Aren't the Whispers just discount Dementors?
Because it made sense to keep him as a secret/mystery in 1997. In 2020, basically everyone with a little bit of knowledge in Final Fantasy knows who Sephiroth is, hence there's no point in keeping him as this ultimate mystery that he was in the past.

Eh, Cloud didn't do the "half now, half later" arrangement because Tifa gave him the puppy dog eyes and he melted into a puddle, ya know like he always does when she asks anything of him.

Yeah. The game is for 16+ year olds so I think that a little blood and swearing is not problamatic.
But its still a great game ;)
I know what you're saying and this is off topic but..... I never had a nosebleed once in my life.
I feel like having people's blood smothering them is worse than a few swear words which are only deemed wrong by humans.
The whispers prevented me from taking this game seriously.

KamenMod fair point.

They also hold her in place for Cloud to meet her because moments prior Sephiroth leads Cloud on a wild goose chase. Aerith would have been long gone otherwise
There’s no way Cloud’s sword would have cleared those corners in the air vents. Add 1 sin.

Right! The game was fantastic aside from the typical FF bs plot that goes on. That said, the plot is not bad all things considered. I'd watch Maximillan Dood for his plot theory, its damn good, not to give him views, but because it opens up some interesting ideas to the narrative and direction things could go.
