if you only go for the looks then just replace the wheat farms with animal farms, they look the same but can be placed anywhere, so shouldn't collapse.
My livestock farm was abandoned and collapsed 😂
Welfare offices will also help with the high rent issues, add some of those and have them service those specific areas.

The firestation has the disaster managemet thingy which helps in rebuilding stuff...i guess you have set it to a specific district....by firestation i mean the large one..
That's the worry I always have with selecting operating districts ... so finnicky and micro intensive to do 100%, have to be VERY careful to take into account EVERY function of the buildings, which is too much information to memorize

The "international" rail line should probably stay on the main line, with the option to stop or not. You can then use platform 3 for the "local" line, keeping it out of the way of the main line.
For the buildings not rebuilding: have you got a (big) fire "station" anywhere? They can be upgraded with an emergency response unit, which handles collapsed buildings. If you do then make sure it hasn't had a district set, since it will only work against that district. With regard to sub-buildings: yes, it's a bug, but you can work around it if you use the Anarchy mod (even if only temporarily for this one thing and then go immediately back to vanilla).
One thing I noticed. There are barely any exits off the main freeway in the west/northwest direction. Like if you're driving toward the new residential districts surrounding the research institute or the industry areas, there are barely any exits along the way, like there are going into downtown.
i think they just have the tendency of not caring about connectivity...
You are correct. I plan on adding a freeway exit as part of the city expansion story

Can you call the region "Scattered Islands"? There are multiple islands, so it would make sense that its plural.

BTW, it looks like you didn't connect any of the bus routes directly from the bottom of the hill to the top, so if the people living near Lonar Lake/residential sprawl want to go by bus they have to ride the route to the suburban station, then transfer to the route that goes to the top.

I got a suggestion for the hill at the back of the fairview office park... you can put n monument on top of the hill with footpaths leading up to it from different directions. Good content keep it up...👌👌👌

I also have a couple of suggestions / ideas if you'd be interested.
1. If you're having problems with the fire service, place down a bigger fire station and if you already have it upgrade it.
2. You could maybe do with the placing of the last city services buildings like the general waste building whatever it's called, a prison and an emergency battery station. So your services are running more smoothly.
3. I'd suggest placing the last of the big official buildibgs like the central intelligence bureau.
Those are just suggestions and ideas, but either way, you're doing a great job 👏

I think there is another way to fix high rent, building farms or mines close to the houses lower the land value and lowers the rent.
I can't wait to see what you do with the other hill next to Loder Lake.

Re: the destroyed buildings. I think there's a mechanic where your city needs a supply of stone for building maintenance, and if you are lacking it you run the risk of building collapse. That would make sense why your farm buildings far from the city center were among the first to collapse, because they are the furthest from a stone supply.
That might also be why you have so many road accidents, because road repair level affects accident rate. Make sure you have a supply of basic resources, and enough road maintenance buildings so serve your city (if all maintenance vehicles are always busy, you should "plonk down" another facility or upgrade the existing one).

The two buildings in my city that keep getting abandoned and collapsing are the livestock farm and the stone mine!
Glad to know you take suggestions. If you want to maintain the look and the low rent housing isn't doing it for you try plotting down a few welfare offices in those areas obviously as long as it looks good. And also, i think you should experiment with family homes with smaller lot sizes. See if you like them, especially when they upgrade to level 3+, they look quite nice. Loving the vids mate!!

Your football field has no pedestrian access. Just draw a path to the back where the entrance is.
Which football field are you referring to 'cause from what I can tell, everything is functional. Please send me a time stamp if possible.
A good number of these issues are caused by the land value bug. The only things that won’t eventually abandon are the buildings that level up quickly. If they level up enough before they abandon they will stay.
The only solution I know of for now is to regularly reset the land value via dev mode.

26:40 It might be like u said that there is no farmeble land, but u can just replace theme with animal farms as they dont need fertile land.

If you have a central government area, I suggest giving it a name, "Nusantara". This name is the name of the new capital of Indonesia. Nusantara is perfect for your city which consists of islands like Indonesia. Nusatara itself has the meaning of describing the Indonesian archipelago that stretches from the tip of Sumatra to Papua. I hope you use this nice name, thank you friend.

maybe use diff cell sizes for low residential or even all zoning, there is a video on different types of growables based on the cell variation. some looks wayyy better than others, especially for single-family houses. Also the smaller size of single residential fixes high rent :)

If I wanted row houses, yes. But I want the look of standalone homes
It blows my mind that CO put out this game with the intersections being free-for-alls. Sitting and watching maybe 3 cars per cycle getting through because a car turning left has a standoff with a car turning right is ridiculous.
Medium roads and higher should have protected turns by default. I shouldn't have to rely on mods for something so simple and so integral to traffic movement.

Its a game bug. It happens if the dissaster is on. Try to close it then replace
leave some space out to build beaches at shores and spend development points
There are no beaches in the game and I suspect by the time they are introduced, we'd have long moved on from this city 😅

How's simulation performance for you now that the city is over 100k pop? I've upgraded my pc from a r5 5600x to a r7 5800x3d and it is still SO slow...
I have a lot of stuttering, especially when the running the simulation at full speed (x3). It irritates me, but it is what it is until it is fixed...hopefully.
