Great build as always! One recommendation for the cargo harbour and cargo train station, as they are both traffic generators, it is better to usually place them a secondary road and not the main collector to move those waiting trucks off the main collector.
That's gonna be hard to do now aint it? 😅 Let's see how bad the traffic gets then will decide whether to redo the area or not. Thanks for the tip!
the quality of Sanctum builds and videos are top tier. heres to a great 2024. Looking forward to all the cities
Are you going to build an airport any time soon? 🛫🛬 🪐 ❓
Really can't wait to get more specific zoning. Because cities don't just zone "commercial" they approve specific projects. Being able to zone "entertainment" and "dining" like you could eventually in Vanilla Skylines can't come soon enough
24:05 i can't believe this is actual soundtrack music. it's a bop
I've been binge watching this series and I've finally caught up. Really enjoyed watching your build style and thought process when developing new areas. It's given me lots of inspiration for my own cities 👍🏼 Looking forward to the next episode 👀
Thanks for tuning in and glad to hear my builds offer some inspiration 😊
You should wait for the Airport until the next city is built also you should use the international airport and not the regular one! I also recommend the subway!
Noted, and thanks for your feedback.
Happy New Year Sanctum Gamer 🥳🥂🥰 Your builds are absolutely amazing and I’m glad you finally gave in and got the developer mode. Can’t wait to see your full potential unleashed once modding becomes available! Your videos make me really happy.
Thank you and a Happy New Year to you too!
Perfect realistic height on the harbor and quay's! It's easy to build them too high and make them look like cliffs.
Some residential would certainly look great around the industrial area. Maybe a primary school too, and that generations of families work and stay in that town.
I love your highway interchanges
That's a great build as always! But I can't help but notice the annoyance tone in your voice over the stupid things this game has especially when you mention the water physics and downloading the key mod lol. I've been there 😂
At 2:38 that was just the shadow of the trees
LOL!! You are right!! Well spotted!
using specialized industry and placing industry building next to them is a way to guide your buildings into producing specific goods
Ah, thanks for the tip!
Nice, cant wait for the airport
Happy New Year SG! To get rid of that funny bit, you're easiest path would be to install Anarchy (I think) since it looks like it's a spot of "surface" containing an invisible path of some sort (car or pedestrian).
Thanks for the nod regarding "Poison Forest"... that made me chuckle that it's now actually down in name!
Love your new area too but why any need for another interchange (beyond just MOAR) as everything is hooking beautifully into the Treble Clef Interchange you completed (?) this episode. Maybe beef up the underpass bit to two lanes if it's getting too much traffic for a single lane, but otherwise it looks like you already nailed it.
Noted, and thanks for the tip. As mentioned at the end, I'm questioning if I do need another interchange or not. Will see how traffic holds up and that will inform that. For now, I don't plan to build another interchange anytime soon.
I think a residential neighborhood close to the industry is super realistic. Especially in rust belt cities in the US
Happy New Year!
Same to you!
A beautiful harbor! Thank you for adopting my idea❤️
By the way, would the harbor be larger?
Glad you like it! Regarding size, will keep it small(ish) for now and see what the future holds
44:08 You should turn that into a lake :)
The problem is that there are no water sources in the game...unless I use Developer Mode. Though I have it, I don't want to use it to make too many game changes yet.
I would really love it if the other end of the passenger train station is hooked to the city line as well.. it would create a nice loop
terraform the living daylights! "TERRORFORM"
You can easily work around that key issue without mods
This awesome! Great builds sir!.....SEE if u can add a "cloverleaf highway"....at 31:00 since ur expanding! Happy New Year🎉
Use specialized industry effectively so that you won't have any resources problem
Noted.
Maybe a trucker stop (with for example mc donalds and gas station etc.) around the highway near the harbor
Would be nice, but the game doesn't allow for prop placements yet so not really feasible. Don't want to go too crazy with Developer Mode just yet.
Great build but the game wasn’t glitching if u got to that point and the water doesn’t move u have to hit play and let it run a sec for it to work because when u paused time water was the the game is not going to move it but if u had hit play it would’ve recognized and acted accordingly
I put a piece of text in the video saying I did unpause, and it still didn't work. I tried many things, from pausing/unpausing during different stages of the terraforming, to terraforming with the game unpaused. Nothing worked and that's why I settled on it being a glitch....and gave up.
you should definitely move the artery around the cargo train and cargo harbor, because the traffic will keep increasing there
Yup, precisely what I was thinking!
Try zoning on the hole and see if that works after you demolish the building
Tried it, unfortunately didn't work.
Tried placing unique buildings on it and delete, didn't work.
Tried flooding it, didn't work.
Tried planting trees, didn't work.
Tried running a road over, didn't work....😞
When you raise and lower terrain with the game paused the water will always be there as you have paused the simulation. You need to lower terrain with the game running and it works fine.
I mentioned in the video that I had tried it many times over. Pausing and unpausing the simulation is part of the stuff I tried. Paused after terraforming, paused/unpaused during terraforming, even left the simulation running whilst terraforming! I tried everything I could, that's why I eventually just gave up and attributed it to my game glitching!
@@SanctumGamer Weird. If the game is not paused, I've never had the issue. Happens all time paused though.
use allow gameplay manipulation on developer mode to get rid of the hole thing.
Can you please explain how I can you use your suggestion to get rid of it?
@@SanctumGamer if you open the game on developer mode, you can select bulldozer tool and press tab, select simulation, activate allow gameplay manipulation or bypass validation results, now you can delete anything on the game
I really want to stay Vanilla but that Quays mod looks too good 😭
It's made life sooo easy! I couldn't resist.
Are you gonna use some mods? I see there's a new anarchy mod.
I’m curious as to why you don’t use the full size police stations and fire stations and hospitals. You have the budget. At least in the more developed areas you know? And I’m curious as to why you don’t use the underground and above ground parking structures more often
It's simply because they are too big and stand out too much, that's the only reason. Similar to the education buildings, I think all those assets are oversized for the type of build I am doing. I find the smaller assets, Fire House and Clinic, fit better with the overall look of an area than their bigger counterparts. It may not make sense practically, but I think aesthetically, they are a better option.
Can you name it "Scattered Islands" since theres multiple islands? Its just an extra "s"
I think should check the complaints of the people that not high skilled labour. It could affect your economic status and Also the building abandon
Noted.
Can you show us your game graphics settings plz
I also want to remain vanilla.
I'm soo opposed to modding my games, I can't begin to tell you.
But the extended road services are AMAZING!
I hope that they will find their way into vanilla over time.
One thing I wonder... If I use the mod tools to build my streets, like the sea walls in this case, and I reinstall the game again one day without the mods, will the game register my map correctly and also display the sea walls properly?
My understanding is that it should. The mod doesn't introduce anything new (images, meshes, etc). It simply enables the ability to do something that the game already supports more easily.
Do you need to introduce you to a modding site, from China, it works great!
Thanks but I'm good for now. I can easily get mods and also don't want to get too many third party tools since Paradox Mods will be coming soon.
Spaghetti party
Can the next town layout be a bit chaotic? The grids are a bit boring… let’s imagine that town as where it all started so it was built without any city planning and then as it outgrew all were moved to the current gridded big town 😅
no wayyy, i found a guy who has the same mind as mine lol
Also you should probably look into giving the port a dedicated access road as now it’s sitting on the main road and it’s going to cause havoc on the traffic. And thank you for all the parking 😂😅 btw happy new year..
lol your highways look like spaghetti
They are complete disasters!!! 😅
需要给你介绍一个做MOD网站吗,来自中国,非常好用
There's no shame in using mods, CS1 was all about mods and CS2 will, at some time, also all be about using mods.
Mods made CS1 to what it is now, so will CS2 ;)
