As far as programming in ESPRIT you could do either one. If you need to out put G41/42 really depends on the machine and operator preferences. For example on a Fanuc Wire the "S" power setting parameters could take care of both the wire power settings as well as the offset value at that power setting. Some machines are similar some are not.

I notice you used all G40 moves, was that for the video or does the machine take care of the offset side of the wire? (G41, G42)
