quik sand at my local home depot is $5.93 a 50lb bag, while this is interesting don't think it would in the end be worth the end cost of sand vs gold found. glad you found something.

I wish everyone that tried this would give their location.. I did try this over the last couple of days ( Orlando, FL)
I am a novice at this, but have never failed to find gold in a place where I know there is gold. I only have a pan, no sluice.
It took me a bit to get through 50lbs of sand, but in the end I found nothing
    A few thoughts:
    I suck at panning :)
There is so little gold in Home Depot sand that I missed it
I have the wrong kind of sand ( all purpose play sand, the only sand they had that day)
Home Depot gets its sand locally?? Why would anyone ship sand to Florida ( no known gold in Florida)
    Just my experience and thoughts…

I've wanted to try this for quite awhile, but have no idea how to set-up my sluice with a recirculating pump..

There are many ways and some videos on set up. I did a few different ways until I figured out the best way for me.

That was probably stuck in your sluice or mats from previous washings .

I don’t think that would be possible. I used a new carpet just for that reason.

Not really that much for basically a 5’er of material. Some claims have a full bottom of a Garrett Super Sluice gold pan 1” thick. But really, I’m surprised that there is anything at all.

Now what do you do with the 50 pounds of sand that you washed?

Great question. Actually I am going to make some new sand filters for my desert recirculation system. That helps keep the pump zone free of sediment for a longer period of time.
      Thanks for asking.

Where can I get that exact setup? I live on a beach and I've been looking for the best rig for sand. Thanks in advance!!

This unit is called the gold buddy. I bought it used and just made the recirculation system for it.
