Hey Guys,
Do we see justice here? What do you guys think of the new evidence I dug up? Seems legit right? Let me know what you guys think!!
-MIKE
Think about Pete Rose and the 1919 Black Sox scandal... All were busted for gambling and match fixing (points shaving in other realms of sports), and received PERMANENT (as in lifetime) bans and were kicked out... Maybe do the same and make an example?
i think ur kinda reaching on those rebounding clips
This is a very serious problem.
Many of you creators here are getting sponsored by betting sites.
If it's rigged then the trust evaporates and major revenue is missing.
The NBA needs to investigate and ban everyone involved .
legit but nba got angry cause he didnt tell them. this is what happens when gambling is introduced to a game.
If true he should be made an example of.
Imagine working ur whole life to make it to the nba just to throw it in the garbage
Stupid
I'm imagining it.. and... damn.
For betting
Imagine blowing being the Goat just by betting….not buying the translator story….
That’s understandable but if he’s making more from gambling maybe he’s making more than any one in the league. Now he has the time to gamble more?
If they're gonna investigate Porter, then they need to investigate the refs too
Exactly
They won’t lol they just do what the nba tells them to do
They would be investigating themselves at that point💀
Not to be political but isn’t it a little crazy that Jontay can’t bet on a game he’s in but congress can invest in companies they are directly funding? Like seriously
You hit the nail on the head...
No they cannot.
Right, crazy how they have salaries of $200k yet are all worth $200million somehow 😂
@@KNByam they literally can
ABSOLUTELY!
"But it's a cardinal sin, what he's accused of in the NBA, and the ultimate, extreme option I have is to ban him from the game. This message brought to you by DraftKings" - Adam Silver
Karl malone, josh giddey and miles bridges laughing in the background
@@Htiybuddy Josh was innocent
@@jael1885charges being dropped ≠ innocence. It just means the family liked the hush money they got. Plenty of guilty people are walking free because they were never even suspects.
@@SwagnerCountsThingsso not guilty = guilty? yeah that makes sense
@@SwagnerCountsThings okay but you can’t just assume that’s the case for everyone. The giddey case had no weight to it that’s why they didn’t pursue charges. The family knew that she lied about her age.
Adam Silver's embrace of sports betting is destroying the NBA.
This was inevitable, and now, anytime a player plays poorly or has a random non obvious injury, we are forced to question if betting is involved.
like how any player makes 40 or 50 had random drug tests
Its going to get worse and worse. Sports betting is going to ruin the basketball and its going to be harder to find players who are doing it.
I don't care if a player bets on themselves or their team to win or for them to go over on stats, but to bet on yourself to go under or lose is all forms of disgrace.
Did he not think it would be obvious at some point 😅
Eventually he was going to get caught
Refs are also rigging games. The NBA need to crack down on refs more because they're clearly doing awful calls for money. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE! Corruption in the NBA exists at this level and we all know it. Gambling is fine but when you're rigging the game it can be super obvious and takes all the fun out of it.
Tell us your favorite player and not getting calls..😅😅
@@rezsurfer2808we don’t gotta list those games with Philly and bucks and Lakers and Kings right?
In cricket it’s a suspendible “offense” not to report a gambler approaching a player or coach. The NBA, and other North American sports leagues, need to add this type of wording to all player/coach/officials/staff contracts or terms of employment.
Pretty sure the refs are under orders by the NBA. "We did sn investigation on ourselves and found nothing"
Sports are entertainment.
The NBA is not "getting ahead" of anything. As soon as DraftKings and other sports gambling platforms became integrated into broadcasts (sponsorships, commercials, even having commentators before the game weighing in on props), it was game over. There are countless examples over the years of players and referees rigging or swinging games in favor of bets, but they chose Porter as the first to be revealed. Find a role player that isnt hugely popular or a cornerstone of a franchise to break the news.
Looking at the MLB with the Otani situation, it's hard to doubt that high-profile NBA superstars are also in on these betting scandals, but the NBA cannot reveal that as it would completely tarnish the brand. Porter will likely get a slap on the wrist and a suspension, but I cannot see them banning him entirely unless they plan to do the same with all players who particpate in rigging games, regardless of their superstar status or not...
💯
As I'm sure you've heard that slapped that man with the entire book 😂.
Ban him and make all sports betting illegal.
It ruins everything and is very detrimental to whoever starts gambling. Eventually, they all end up addicted and losing big bucks/everything.
We are many who enjoys gambling without getting into trouble. And we should be allowed to, of course
They ALL end up addicted? What are you, 11 years old?
@@AwfulPoetry69 nope, just someone who knows where it starts and where it ends.
Spoiler alert: it's never somewhere good.
@@AwfulPoetry69 They don't all get addicted, but it is very addictive and many people lose a ton of money.
You have to wonder if the NBA higher ups are worried about the sports gambling mafia coming after them. There's no other reason degenerate gambling at this scale should be allowed
Now go check the players who’s props are up every night, who are 4 points from hitting their prop by half time but don’t score the rest of the game
I remember this channel it’s wild it popped up but bro still has the UA-cam 2016 stretched speech and voice man the good ole days
It must have been so obvious to catch. The only people betting on his props would be the degenerate gamblers and those in his inner circle
Ikr? Most of nba fans dont even know who this dude is, well other than raps fans
for a basketball player, an NBA caliber especially, he's QUITE UNHEALTHY with those sickness mid game.
Thank you so much 🔥🔥🔥
Immediate ad after the video is from Draft Kings. Lol
This raises bigger concerns, for critical thinkers. Why did his team keep playing him after he blatantly doesn't try to rebound like that so many times? That kind of behavior should get him cut minutes, or cut completely.
So here's the point: Is there already a narrative that he is supposed to be following, in which he doesn't try? For those specific games? Perhaps to give the other team an advantage? And the team knows and is part of it?
That would explain why a player would bet under like that. Because, otherwise, it makes no sense for a player to force himself into poor play when he could try and get a much better contract worth much more money than the betting?
Perhaps he's already being paid off in some way or told to not try, and decided to bet under to make extra money off the situation that is already rigged for other reasons?
I know for a fact one of my favorite players on my favorite team bets on games just off of 1 instance where a player on the opposite team scored a very insignificant bucket at the end of the game after the outcome was already decided (the team I support and that the betting player is on, was winning by 12), but what they did put the spread (which was -12, exactly how much they were up by) on a betting service as under to -9 because they hit a 3 at the buzzer and the way the player on my favorite team reacted while he was ON THE BENCH as the camera zoomed in on him, said to me that he had a lot of money on the spread being -12.
Why would he hit the under every time and not go for the over once in a while
easier to hit the under
Instead of making ur case to become a very solid player, maybe a starter, you throw it away for a couple quick bucks?
More than quick bucks lol
@@TheJwalk1234how much you can bet tho? Isnt there like a max amount? Compared to millions that he could get, that s definitely a quick buck
@@HelloThere-lo3qi yeah probably in the 100k ranges depending on the length of ya parlays and high + number. But maybe he didn’t think we be good enough to get a 3-5 year deal and went for the guarantee quick buck like you said
he's not the only nba player doing this... ive seen kevin durant do it, on multiple occasions
Great vid I just subscribed
Sports betting sucks to begin with. Betting on games YOU are playing in is utterly pathetic.
The rebounding effort clips are really a reach here though lol
did he wore those 11 & 34 this season alone? if he did then its also suspicious
Yeah I realized that as well, very sketchy
@@MikeKorzemba He played through January 17 with #11. Then the trade with Indiana involving Bruce Brown happened. Brown has worn #11 for years. Brown says he approached Porter with a request to purchase the use of the number from him. Brown stated he was surprised when Porter only asked for $10,000. This is from a Sports Illustrated article from Jan 18, 2024, titled "Bruce Brown Shares the Price Of His Raptors Jersey Number."
What is especially wild about the article is the way it begins.
"Jontay Porter was too kind.
That’s been the word on Porter since he first joined the Toronto Raptors organization earlier this year. Anyone who talks to him comes away impressed. He’s smart, articulate, and by all accounts a good guy. His only flaw, it seems, is he’s not greedy enough."
@@thelibrariansupermannyexcellent research! Thank you for sharing 🙏🏾
@@deepaknambisan3251 thanks! I thrive on research. 😂
I wonder how many star players are shaving stats and arent getting caught cuz the action on their bets is always high sonits not noticable
Star players could be doing it anything is possible, but I highly doubt a Booker Durant or Mitchell type player would risk their career for a bit of extra cash
why they even have prop bets on 2 way player. wtf only 10 M above salary should have prop bets.
Why were the oddsmakers even giving anything to bet on him for? Seems like you'd flag someone hitting the unders so much.
who is the victim in this case?
sports betting is in ridiculous level right now. it should be stopped. Hope more will do this as a middle finger to the sports betting companies and the sports organizations that partnered with them.
Wish I would’ve known about this 😂😂😂
Would be funny if they could have kept it quite that theyre investigating him. Then on a game he does this. They lie and raise his numbers just tos see what he does. This does suck though.
Unfortunately, this will happen more and more as pro leagues have fully embraced gambling. And it's probably even more widespread now, with most offenders getting away with it. The NBA (and NFL, and MLB, and NHL, and everybody) will look the other way as long as the money keeps coming in.
This is still going on in the nba now with other players
Adam silver fixed one tiny problem
Play in and NBA cup
Aaaaand new problems keep popping up
His job will never be done
Minnesota too with this messy selling dispute and ownership having beef with each other
A lot of players do shady stuff like this…
That's the problem of having over emphasis on gambling industry. But they do feed UA-camr like Mike. It is a double-edged sword...
Did they investigate his bro as well, because if they didn’t this could be a distraction for something else
Even if, by some miracle, he isn't outright banned, good luck getting another contract after this.
Adam Silver needs to check on refs too
Betting is worse than beating women is what they are telling us
This is such a shame because Porter was actually playing well and had a good shot be part of the Raptors' rotation going forward.
He is boxing out for the enemies :D
Bro was probably making a killing, got too greedy/cocky and ended up telling way too many people. Why else would people be betting on him specifically?
Bro is cooked
I want to know if anyone actually made money on any of these just by thinking they were getting lucky
I do feel a lot of players know there over and under and there behavior is dictated for sure. I have seen late minute gamee when a player can get fouled he make sures someone else gets the points. Basketball is officially now just into entertainment
If you throw games you are ruining the product? I agree, but have never understood how people feel this passionately about that, yet tanking (loosing on purpose) is perfectly acceptable. I mean, should the motive make a difference?
It’s funny fans begged for gambling to be legal and defending it but they are the same ones who get mad cuz there team lost to a game being rigged… man I saw this a mile away, I knew this would be downfall of sports
All the big nba content creators accepting gambling sponsors and then condemning the act is so funny to me
Make more What If videos
I can't believe he thought he would get away with this. He would make a lot more money from a whole NBA career than just betting on a few games.
Or maybe he only communicates to a few, and some of his friends become greedy after the success of the first betting and invite others alerting casinos.
I mean I pretty much new something like this was going to has considering the fact that there was always a gambling problem with the NBA (Michael Jordan, and that ref) that’s why they should’ve never let it back into the game because it takes away integrity and breeds greed and that is ruining the game I love
Are you telling me he'd make more money getting paid by betters than his Raptors Contract?
Tennis at the lower levels, match fixing is very prominent because players can make more money throwing games than trying to win small tournaments that payout next2nothing.
But dudes in the NBA are getting paid Millions 0_o
I'm so confused as to why anyone in the NBA would do this.
Mike, can you please please bring back NBA what if scenario one last time
I’m not 100 percent sure but I’m pretty sure porters gonna not only be banned from the nba but also looking at jail time
Sponsored by draft kings….wait
How does him betting on a sportbook cause him to get banned lol... This what the NBA wanted
All this is fully expected.....duh
Considering certain channels push gambling apps on viewers through their sponsorships...ugh indeed
what did the NBA expect would happen when they endorse the problem they have in the NBA...fans are already convinced the NBA is rigged so lets endorse it and be shocked when players get corrupted
I think Brunson is gambling too, but he always bets the overs 😆
They’ll ban him but not refs
Sports books only mad because they lost.
How did this dude not learn from what happened Pete Rose, who is STILL in the news begging for reinstatement?
Damn I wish I was betting on him 🤣🤣
If this is proof. Someone check lebrons than... dude will play then games never help in defense and or never come across the half court at all.
Man why the hell no one tell me about this 😂
Every players are doing it. Patrick Beverly and Tobias Harris are prime example of blantly gambling on over and under one game they’re over easily then the next game they can’t get a rebound or point just recently.
The fact the leagues have accepted sports betting marks the end of true competition. Any one wanna bet on the wwe. Less then 1% people win over time gambling it’s not a pass time good for a society in recession. Ban him for life
Gambling shouldn't be outside of a casino this is gonna get worse
Now I’m suspicious everyone the big man don’t crash the board
Ahhh check the NFL, MLB, NHL👀✨
He will live of Michael the rest of his life
And nothing wrong with that if he has money to give.
If I was MPJ. He's on his own he screwed himself over! Why do I have to take care of you?
@@Quietplague2000 his brothers keeper
Porter is Steph Curry with 40 prop bets!
I wonder how much money he cashed out with
I was wondering how long until the NBA has their version of Pete Rose
At the end of the day, he wanted to play games, now he's gotta accept the punishment
Personally, I wouldn't even hesitate, and make a serious example out of him for the rest of the players to bear witness to
At the 37 seconds saying he didn’t crash the boards is crazy nobody did come on Mike do better
Damn bro i really liked jontay even though what he did was wrong, he could’ve been a great backup center on a nba contract
Yea and dude just give it up for quick cash😂 i just dont get it, like dawg you in the nba, you ll get 2 mills at least
Rookie mistake to be caught you got to bet on your teammates and bet like it's stocks
bro would have been fine if he just used bovada instead of a main stream sportsbook lmao
Who here after he is officially banned for life😂😂
Me lol
Of course they’re Point Shaving, because it never STOPPED & introducing gambling only make it enticing to the Disgruntled Athletes.
Why do you have to gamble when you’re already making money?!
he's never playing in a pro league in North America
The NBA is entertainment.
Hum...after observing the results of past NBA players breaking the law and being allowed back to the league after a suspension; I believe the NBA commissioner is a laughing clown and the player might be suspended and eventually comeback again. REMEMBER the Lakers current FAVORITISM free throws frenzi!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He lost 30 grand in the end. Imagine being persona non grata from the league you worked all your life to get to.
Jontay Porter 100% deserved this lifetime ban. Imagine selling you team out for a bet. He thought maybe a year suspended, nope…
Never seen this fool before… and I watch basketball frfr… he don’t even look familiar.
Alot of players are doing this, he's just the fall out guy. NBA started getting sponsors by gambling sites, more rigging is inevitable the lakers net free throw differential already proves this. Tim Dougherty also already exposed how most refs are connected.
Imagine if he just took the overs instead and tried really hard
Umm what could go wrong when the NBA is in bed with gambling goodbye sports integrity what a joke and terrible move by NBA management this is just the beginning if they look harder but won't
Yet the NBA itself rigs the game on a nightly basis... What's the problem here?
As a raptors fan, he was probably the most interesting thing about the team this year. They really sucked ass lol
He should be banned.
But it’s crazy to me that this is a worse offense than the crap Giddy was doing. Or Ja playing with guns?!?
All these guys should be out of the league. If this was Lebron they would sweep it under the rug somehow
Lmao.... This is every player who is trying to avoid getting rebounds or keep their prop average close. I literally see centers run from rebounds. How you think Luka can get 10 rebounds every game?
Thats different tho… they have luka thats why😂 some role player understood the assignment
@@HelloThere-lo3qi bruh no… the center literally runs away from the boards Luka is the only one jumping for the rebound. His Triple doubles are scripted.
@@DaRealSonic literally what i said…
Would you not want yourself to do well and make more money? If he had bet the over on himself I’d at least appreciate the confidence, if he bet the over on a teammate I’d respect it even more, but to give yourself an excuse to be lazy is embarrassing. MPJ would be disappointed.
As if it took the rise of legalized sports betting to get outside/ inside sources from rigging games. Please. Its been dont forever.
I feel like it wouldn't be as bad if he bet on the over, on himself.
The nba facilitated this and in the future when stars gamble on themselves in the future they won't be ban then from the nba 🤣
