What's your favorite PG or PG 13 horror movie? Tourist Trap is mine.
The Burbs- Definitely horror/comedy. It's a favorite!!
Happy death day I just fell in love with that movie it was so good.
Best PG - Jaws
Best PG-13 - Insidious or Signs
Mine is also Tourist Trap for PG. Such a weird, unsettling movie, but I like it!
PG-13 would have to be Happy Death Day. It's funny, unexpected, well acted and fun.
I have yet to see this, in fact I've never heard of it. Can't wait watch!
1408, Devil, What Lies Beneath,The Haunting, and The Mothman Prophecies!
This is one of my favorite horror comedies
It's such a fun watch.
I loved 'Final Girls.' I just happened upon it and saw it at the library and ended up watching it twice. Everything that you mentioned was spot on. It's comical and inventive. I thoroughly enjoyed this flick.
Slip Shot Yeah it’s such a fun film. Thanks for watching!
That moment when she finds out she's her mother was so good, heartbreaking and Malin Akerman who I never rated as an actress showed some acting chops.
Agreed. Very heartfelt moment.
I would lovvvvvve to see the 2nd part of this movie since It’s left on a cliffhanger!
They need to make a sequel.
Watched this last night, and was very pleasantly surprised by the heart in it.
I can't help wonder though what would have happened had they saved Billy in the flashback
Yes so much heart in this movie.
Since cinematic universes are all the rage nowadays, I’d love to see a SlasherVerse or something like that. But instead of crossovers where Michael fights Freddy or Jason fights Pinhead, I think they should take all the survivors of the movies and have them work together to take out all the killers.
Imagine: Halloween, Texas Chainsaw, Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street. Then a movie where Laurie, Nancy, Sally and one (or a couple) of the Friday survivors get together and take on Michael, Freddy, Jason and Leatherface. Dr. Loomis serves as a Nick Fury-esque character.
Am I crazy or would that be awesome?
I'd LOVE that!
I’d love to see Tommy Jarvis join up with Kirsty (Hellraiser), Nancy, Laurie, and Sally.
Happy Death Day was a very entertaining PG-13 film
I actually love this movie so much! The whole thing just makes me smile and grin
Definitely adding this to my Halloween or Scaretember watch this year!
very creative plot, 5 guys inside the horror movie!! amazing idea, I just watched it last night for the first time and I really enjoyed it!! and yesssssss, Halloween 2 reference at the end of the movie!!! awesome.
the only horror movie that made me bawl my damn eyes out. that scene between max and her mom was extremely real and i felt it since i lost my father when i was 17. the rest of the movie is really good too and it deserved a lot more praise! (and a sequel would be funny if handled with as much care!)
Oh a triple feature with Tucker & Dale vs Evil.
That was a funny movie
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MOVIE. ITS BRILLIANT AS A HORROR MOVIE CONASUR FOR OVER 43 YEARS I HAVEN'T BEEN SO ENGROSSED IN A MOVIE ITS CHARACTERS AND CAST FROM STAR TO FINISH "TINA WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITES " AND ADAM BUT ALL OF THE CHARACTERS ARE MY FAVORITE ANYWAYS THEY NEED TO MAKE A SEQUAL
I was SHOCKED at how much I loved this movie! 😭
Yeah it's great.
Love the final scene with Mom and daughter. Good song choice and fantastic visuals
This one snuck under my radar, Ill need to check it out. Thanks for the review!!
Welcome!
Such a good horror comedy, love this one. Spot-on review Lee, makes me want to revisit this one soon 🤗
When I saw this movie when it came out, I was like “this is a F13 spoof”. But after seeing it again now, I really enjoyed it. The actors are great the emotional scenes really stood out. Definitely a favorite of mine. Top 5
I don't think I'm going to watch this anytime soon. I just lost my mom Friday morning out of nowhere. But once I pass this hump, I'll try it. Thanks for the vlog. Keep doing a great job with your vlogs and live streams. I always look forward to them.
Kandice I am so sorry for your loss.
Kandice Janusz sorry for your loss. I just lost my sister on the 7th...
@@IndigobluBeauty I'm so sorry for your loss also
I read the title wrong. lol.
I thought this was a list of the "TOP 10 Final Girls from PG-13 Slashers."
haha
This movie is awesome. I'm really glad you revisited it. Thank you 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
this movie is sooooo underrated ! I just watched it, really enjoyed so many aspects of it. Dude that’s crazy that you got emotional too because that end became difficult to watch for me and even more crazy that it was an homage to his dad dying because my dad died and the idea of being able to see him again or bring him back brought back a lot of pain. They really did a great job with this film and it was also so fun.
Agreed. I love this movie to bits.
Check out a movie from 1971 titled Blood and Lace. It was rated GP which at the time was the equivalent of PG. The opening scene with the hammer kill had to be where John Carpenter got the opening scene of Halloween from. If you haven't seen this then please watch it soon. Its free on you tube. The sickest PG movie ever!!!!!
Great review. I love this movie. It is indeed a great homage to movies like Friday the 13th. This movie mixes horror with comedy and with some really emotional scenes. They blend perfectly with each other. Taissa Farmiga is very good in this movie and that last scene between her and her mother, made me tear up a little bit as well and gave me goosebumps. I don t have that very often when i watch a movie, but that scene was so emotional, with the underlying message of saying goodbye and letting go to someone you lost. Only dislike is the lack of gore, but it is still a very good movie
This movie was just straight up hilarious especially Angela Trimbur .
She did such an amazing job
I would like to get sucked into a Nightmare on Elm Street movie. I would either sell Red Bull to all the teens or Freddy Krueger can buy me out.
You know you could actually dream about it if you try.
If you haven't seen the 2018 film "You might be the killer" I highly recommend it. Very fun movie also a meta type comedy horror and it stars the guy from "Cabin in the woods" Fran Kranz and Alyson Hannigan (I'm sure you know her) from "American Pie" and "How I met your mother". Personally I loved it.
I think Alyson's in there due to Buffy, not American Pie.
This was a great choice! I absolutely loved this movie. I didn't know what this was until I saw it in the Walmart $5 bind. Watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Its just fun. As of now, this is one of my favourite horror spoofs (Cabin the Woods is #1 though). I was told to check out "You might be a killer" though, which features the Stoner from Cabin in the Woods. That is on my to do list.
I give this movie 5 stars and I love how Billy's mask looks.
Agreed!
nice review. never heard of this movie and no idea what my favorite PG movie is.. too many to choose from :) cheers Lee
Not like I had low expectations, but this was better than I expected...a goddamn blast actually! The girl who played Tina was hilarious lol. Duncan was pretty funny too.
Damn though...hearing "Dance Hall Days" in the opening had me thisclose to pausing the movie and hopping on GTA Vice City👍
,
As I understand it that was a last minute choice originally Max and Chris were slated to live but test audiences found that was a downer and had the ending rewritten to be more upbeat.
Great review as always, my friend. Did you do something different with the your lighting?
Flamethrower Fluf Salisbury Very possible brother. I’m always experimenting with my lighting.
I'm shocked that I didn't hear about this film sooner, because it's one of the best horror movies of the 2010s!
This was a super fun watch!
Great movie and I love Adam Devine, I always enjoy everything he is in. Also really cool shirt man! What is under Jason's head? I can't make it out from the angle
LoepkeVisionFilms It’s a shirt from the upcoming fan film Voorhees. The logo is below the mask.
Glad you rereviewed this! I had just asked for it
Just seen this on Netflix. Looks worth a watch :)
Tourist Trap is my favorite PG horror movie as well! It's so creepy!
OK, now I see my error. I remember seeing this advertised, thought it looked good, figured when I get a chance to, I'll check it out, and I thought I was going to, but it was The Final Girl I watched. Thought at the time, this isn't the movie I remember being advertised. Thought I was way off on the title, but since I didn't know the actors in it, wasn't sure how to check. Fast forward a few years to now, and I now realize, I was only off by 1 letter, it was Girls not Girl. Thank you, Lee for that help.
I recently watched this film i really enjoyed it this one is such a hidden gem because i don't hear many people talk about this 😊
Crime Circus chan just mentioned this, in relation to the Moscow Idaho 4 victims - thank you for doing such a great breakdown of this movie ~
Thank you for watching!
I have never heard of this..that I can remember anyways. I'll have to check it out.
Oh damn...now this is a MUST watch!
Never seen this but looks like a fun movie I need to check this out
Oh man you have to get on that John. Really solid film.
John McCullough, it really is a fun movie!
i love this movie... thought it was gonna be garbage but it turned into a favorite
Well since i only got 3hrs sleep tonight..i woke up,ate RAMEN,drank coffee and ended up watching this movie.WOW..its super fun and has a great idea that i never would have thought of rather done before or not.. SPOILER ALERT:..the only part that kind of dragged on was where Max and Nancy "mom & daughter" are talking at the end before the she goes outside and lets Billy kill her. That moment seemed to go a bit..Otherwise im happy with this movie. And the slow motion part was SICK..Really cool part..Thanks Lee for doing this revisit..
It’s a staple in my house in Oct 😂 top tier laughs
Fun Facts: Did you know Taissa Farmiga was in pretty much all the seasons of American Horror Stories as well. But I just can't wait to see this although this is kind of old lol!!
Yeah she's awesome.
This is one of the only PG-13 slashers I can stand, I loved this movie.
This is the second best PG-13 slasher movie, the best one is Happy Death Day.
Not a fan of Happy Death Day at all. The best BY FAR...NEVER TO BE BEAT...is Tourist Trap.
Drumdums Another one I plan to watch this Halloween!
I Just watched this on Netflix uk! Why wasn't there part 2?!! I liked it
Agreed. I'd love a part 2.
Hi Lee great vid I've not seen this yet will do though. Here in the UK the rating system is different we have cert pg (for young children with parents) then cert 15 and then cert 18
So for your pg 13 my fav would probably be Salems lot that was a cert 15 and was a TV show first. I have recently upgraded my channel and I've put on my Halloween collection if you have any spare time i would like you to see it. Cheers Dave ☠
Cool vid. Could do a review of midnight movie
Saw this movie on shudder and passed it off as a basic slasher movie but how could I ever be so wrong. The cast really sticks out to me really great cast I think on of the main girls is in American horror story. Definitely adding this to the pile of movies to watch.
I saw this before the burning and all I could think of Adam's character when jason alexander was on screen. Love this movie btw.
I think Billy does "kill" Duncan but the characters that weren't part of the movie come back to life, it's kind of like dying in a video game that's how I see it, imagine going into a horror/slasher movie and dying but coming back to life in the sequels, lucky for them Camp Bloodbath only had one sequel and not like 11 sequels like Friday the 13th (yeah I looked it up on Wikipedia) and you die over and over and over and over, etc but here's the thing once you die in the final movie will you wake up in real life or will it be a repeating pattern and you start over by the first movie? what if they were dead the whole time and everyone died in the theater fire?
Honestly I watched it for the first time last night and didn’t even know it was PG-13.
Fun summer watch, I think tourist trap is better, but technically that was PG not PG-13
Guys...check out The watcher in the woods 1980 believe it or not, it was made by Disney and The Gate 1987 with Stephen Dorff debut.
Watch her in the woods! One of my first horror movie memories. I remember watching it in elementary school believe it or not.
PG 13 horror movies are usually a letdown for me. But this one looks interesting going to check this one out! Love Camp Slashers
Cant hear betty davis eyes without thinking of this movie great work as always
I was surprised on how good this movie was. Fun fact it was co-written by the vampire kid from Near Dark
Joshua Miller was also in "Teen Witch", "River's Edge" and "Meet The Hollowheads".
Also kinda like the new Jumanji where they got to figure out how to get out and also was some meta type of film
Hey did y'all hear they're making The Babysitter 2. I think it's finished and coming out on Netflix this year. Maybe I visit The Smoke Spirit a lot so I not sure on the release date.
Yep. Coming out soon actually.
I watched it for the 1st time a couple of nights ago it’s a shame we didn’t get a sequel
We Want Part 2!!!
I love your Jason Voorhees shirt 👍
one of my favorites Drumdums. I love clever horror movies like this the Tragedy Girls and Behind the mask: rise of leslie vernon. All started with Scream (or atleast it made being meta a popular thing)
You should watch Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. It's not horror, but it took the meta-commentary further than any other film I've ever seen, and it was first.
What up Lee. I think the movie was good for a PG 13 movie. Keep up the good work my friend.
One of my favorites!!!!!
Happy Death Day is the best PG13 slasher.
Bullshit. I got so pissed off at that movie because every single kill was cut her ways. The opportunities were endless and they didn’t capitalize. Hated the second one even more. Can’t believe we finally disagreed on a movie.
They cut away because it’s pg13 you goof haha
Top 5 favorite PG/PG-13 horror movies
Poltergeist
Jaws(1975)
The Ring
A Quiet Place
Insidious
What a great list 👍🏼
Kevin _R. Thank you
The Burning...
Has a Final Boy...
🔪📼 One of my all time favorite movies. "Betty Davis Eyes .." 🎵🎶🎵
It’s so fun with a lot of heart.
RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 2 IS MY FAVORITE BECAUSE IT MADE LOVE HORROR MOVIES
Tequila kicked my ass tonight then I saw this. I'll watch in the morning.
How bout ranking all the A Nightmare on Elm Street & Friday The 13th heroines/hero?
This one looks fun, I will check it out!
Damn..seeing so many that haven't seen this!
This one definitely surprised me, in a good way. But I don't want to cry while watching horror! 😂
Hahaha there's another top 10 idea Beth. Horror that makes you cry haha.
@@DrumdumsOfficial Let me get my tissues! I could name a few off the top of my head. The Mist, Pet Sematary, Hereditary (I will never watch that one again 😭).
The ending of the Mist Really messed me up!
@@daryldixon3685 yes!! I just watched that for the first time a year or so ago. And some how I avoided getting the ending spoiled. Amazing in this day and time!!
This was cool. What happened to the sequel.
I didn't even know they were doing a sequel.
@@DrumdumsOfficial i hope they do one im surprised there there was no traction from fans pushing for one, definitely needs one.
I loved Final Girl but I still haven’t watched Final Girls yet. I truly need to.
It's a GUARANTEE Hayley. Trust me. Very solid.
Drumdums do you know if it’s streaming somewhere?
Awesome shirt brother
Thank you! It's from the upcoming fan film Voorhees.
Totally off topic but if you do a non horror film check out the peanut butter falcon!!!
I've heard good things.
@@DrumdumsOfficial you'll be shocked it didnt receive more attention and praise
The Ring.
It's ridiculous just how good this film is. The fact they built a slasher *around* the emotional core of this film, is fantastic. By concentrating on such a heavy center of emotion, it made this transcend even some of the originals it was homaging (I dare not say parodying, it was far too rich and well thought out to say 'parody' honestly). Easily a 10/10 film for me :)
Completely agree. It's such a blast.
@@DrumdumsOfficial absolutely. It's why I'm torn on wanting it to get a sequel. In a way, I'd love to see more of them. On the other hand, it's perfect the way it is, even with the ending... it's probably best to leave it that rare polished gem it truly is.
I love the final girls do you think they should make a part 2
Haven't seen this movie in a minute but remember the ending haha
Yeah it had been a few years since I saw it.
Dunno if you know-- I found out just now watching 'Crystal Lake Memories', that Alexander Ludwig's mom played "Tamara", the bitchy blond from Jason Takes Manhattan.
I actually mentioned that in the review. Really cool factoid.
@@DrumdumsOfficial Oh shit, I should've rewatched before I posted.
Wow just rewatched this movie last week. Anyone else think that American Horror Story 1984 ripped this movie off in so many ways?
Yeah and AHS didn't compare to this movie, and it was PG-13. Shame.
Do you enjoy Final Girl, with Abigail Breslin and Wes Bentley?
the fire reminded me of Final destination
So far as references to classic slashers go, Nancy's line about getting stoned and doing it on a waterbed might've been a nod to a similar line from the 1982 slasher, Pieces.
Sexist Atheist OMG you might be right. God I love Pieces.
It's pretty graphic for pg-13. It could've just as easily been an R with one f-bomb.
You gotta review the stepfather!
Killer Klowns from outerspace is also a fantastic pg 13 horror movie.=.
Damn I always thought that one was rated R.
When your talking about a parody movie, you really don't need that R rating
I really enjoyed this movie
I liked this one. Whacky idea, real people ending up in a movie. Almost as whacky as a movie character ending up in real life. Ha-ha!!
this movie also remind me of another slasher movie i have on blu ray called midnight movie
scott Dustin I keep hearing great things about that one. Need to add it to my list.
@@DrumdumsOfficial the biker guy in this movie was a host of documentary show on byu called american ride about U.S, history
