  • If you're checking for proper electrical connection OR installing a new replacement ESP/BAS module be careful pulling off your connectors - here's how they remove from it.

If you're trying to clear the ESP/BAS - ABS - ETS 'three Error lights' on ML 320 ML500 - w163, try cleaning these connections. Also scan for error codes using a "Pro level" Scanner. Others have said that if you have a C1000 + C1025 code present it means the ESP/BAS module (we're showing here) is defective & needs replaced.
Best wishes as you pursue fixes for your Mercedes.

Should you disconnect the battery before doing this?

I need to do this to a SL 500 2003 I just can't disconnect the modules it's a little different than this one. Do you have any videos of this on an R230??

No sorry this is my video & ML500 but don't have your model:
Can you video the process once you get it sorted & upload it ?
Be sure to title your video precisely, so others can locate it via search later on.
      Good 👍 on ya !

I have a 2001 E320 4matic with a P20CC-08 code and 3 malfunctions on the dash. I still have the error after replacing the wheel speed sensors. Would this fix the problem?

Not sure. i did also get the p20cc-8 error at some point too.
      Look up its defined here:
      www.benzworld.org/threads/p20cc-08-error-code-abs-and-esp-dash-warnings.2976810/
      My main issues were:
      - Failing ABS Sensors
      - Incorrect ABS sensors for my Vin #
      - Faulty YAW rate sensor
Remember this is on my w163 ML500.
But its ABS control system may use same logic.

Your ML needs to have a Mercedes specific scanner read ALL codes that are turning on the lights, to help you zero in on root cause.
A good mechanic shop SHOULD have this hardware but a German Independent garage or (of course) a Benz Dealer.
      Otherwise youre guessing.
You can get MB specific scanners for as little as $150 on Amazon. I got the Foxwell NT530 for $200 and it does all functions on multiple MB models.
Most Indy garages charge $75+ for a diagnosis appt so use Scanner 2x its paid for.
It's a mandatory part of maintaining an older MB - another Tool in your Toolbox !
