I feel bad for Monica in this episode, since everyone was being so demanding about what they wanted. She definitely was not being appreciated and I'm so glad she called them out on it.
Yes! And then they had the audacity to say spending Thanksgiving with Monica wasn't their first choice..🤨

They deserved it, she took the time to accommodate everyone's preferences and they treated her like that. I would eat whatever she made, no complaints or requests, except for no cinnamon, but that's only because I'm allergic.
This episode reminds me how cleverly dry and ironic Susan is; she could totally go toe to toe with Chandler.
God help someone if they team up together.🤭

I felt so sorry for Phoebe, having to break up with that guy, she seemed to be so happy with him, he was an odd bird but seemed so genuinely nice
I love how u dont read the titles and the synopsis, keep going like this, season 1 has a lot of bangers episodes, those ones are so good, and the next ones as well,

That monkey worked on-set with Courteney Cox before in Ace Ventura 1, and _then_ would work on-set with Jim Carrey again for both Ace Ventura 2 and on Bruce Almighty.

That's exactly what we all used to say. That was such a Chandler line, not a Joey line.
You said it's hard not to binge the series, true, but it's harder not telling you what happens to the characters.......a lot happens in 10 seasons a lot!
This is a 90s sitcom, bud. It doesn't take place in the real world, it takes place in "sitcom world" where everything is turned up to 11 for comedic effect. My point here is that you can't judge a character's behaviour by normal rules, by normal rules these people are all psychotic !!

Up to end od 1991 so just 2 years before the show started Mińsk was part of USSR (Russia basically with all their gained republics as an union) so in the "mind" of US public it could still be very much Russia 🤷♀️. Also taking into account the Nuclear Arms Race and INF treaty, going there for such scientific research was actually a possible thing, I think🙂
@@bluediddie But by the time this came out Belarus was a seprate country and no Belarus has never been impressive when it comes to science. Even if we admit Russia as a scientific superpower Belarus is not Russia. Heck even Kiev would have been a better option. At least Ukriane ended up in possession of the greatet nuclear faciliy in Europe.
@DaDunge This has always annoyed me too. And they even repeat it much much later in the series and once again they say that Minsk is in Russia. It's so annoying when writers don't care about facts.
@@ntiadicted I think one of the reasons many americans think this way is that Minsk was in the Russian empire and had a substantial jewish population before the pogroms. I think many Ameriican jews know their anscestors came from Russia and came from Minsk and thus think Minsk is in Russia.

iirc, it was because she auditioned to be one of the main 6, but all she got was the Carol role. She said she wanted more of a regular role.

Also, all I will say is that the show and the characters evolve SO incredibly well through the years … believe it or not, Ross is my favorite character by the end!! (He was my least favorite at the beginning.) Funny how that happens! 😂

When I started modeling, I also had a gig as Santa's elf. There is exactly ONE photo, that I know of, of me, some random Santa, and the other poor model as the other elf. We looked just as ridiculous.

The actress that originally played Carol didn't want to be an occassional appearance and quit to go after starring roles. Understandable but also something she is probably kicking herself for now.
Based on Perry’s book apparently people knew how big Friends would most likely be before they even filmed the pilot. So her choice does seem strange. But she probably gets a lot of money from one episode alone

In case you didn't get the "Blossom" joke (6:50) it was a tv show about a coming-of-age girl named Blossom played by Mayim Bialik who later played Amy on The Big Bang Theory.
the subtitles kinda ruin the jokes because you see them before you hear them. also kinda takes attention away from the scene

Susan is my least favourite character ever on this show. She’s the one that got a married woman to cheat (yes carol was hiding her true sexuality but still) and then treats Carols ex husband like crap, like he did something wrong by marrying Carol in the first place, well Ross is trying to move pass it and be somewhat civil towards them both even though it’s uncomfortable and he is awkward about it since all three of them are having a baby.
everytime she's around he's snide. i get you don't like her but come on, He even goes so far as too kinda downplay/dismiss Susan's role in this pairing. For Susan it's mostly the issue of couldCarol reverse her decision and go back to Ross.
Susan is just being sarcastic. I never thought she was being mean to him it's just an awkward situation for both

These reactions are becoming really comforting. I used to watch Friends with my mom, and we made it about halfway through season 8. (I had seen it before but she hadn’t). I lost her a couple months ago, and this is weaning me back into watching it without her. It might sound weird but thank you.

Susan is literally the worst human to ever exist... well ok she doesn't actually exist but go with me here. Ross has acted like an absolute gent during his divorce from Carol & Susan treats him like he used to hit her. The worst part is, the bit's not even funny. I will forgive a LOT in comedy if it makes me laugh but the Susan bit is just infuriating. I legit want to uppercut her into space on Ross's behalf.
I always hated how Carol and Suzan treated Ross, Carol cheated on him with Suzan, left him all alone, took all the furniture, then revealed to him she's pregnant with his baby but he wouldn't raise the child, Suzan was being a b in the 2nd episode not wanting the own father's name in the baby, like, Ross got cheat, abandoned with no furniture, and isn't even the one raising the baby, i know it's comedy but it's a messed up situation, specially how Suzan treats him

i literally was thinking these days that i've never see someone react to friends and i've been watching you for a little while and i saw that you've been doing it and im so glad! aaaa i've been missing watching friends again, specially after matthew perry's loss and you're so nice and sweet, its easier than usual to watch it.
it always frustrated me that the carol actress changed, its true she was only in one episode but still kind of jarring
I do feel for Monica but she absolutely did yell "Got the keys" as if she had them. Also, it's (mainly) her apartment, and Rachel was leaving, so yes, Monica should've had them. lol
Yes! I currently have a housemate who always takes his keys so I know I can count on him but without fail I ALWAYS ask him anyway before we head out 😆

Back in the early days of UA-cam, I started watching Friends on here - which was all uploaded and easily available. You could download anything too so I downloaded the first 10 episodes (I don't remember why I never got around to downloading the rest) onto my iPod of all places. I know these first 10 episodes of Friends like the back of my hand because I rewatched them on my iPod so much.
Joey like you knew she was a mom so what did you expect but offcourse only interested cuz she hot, chandler so brought this upon himself he was stupid and pathetic like they all are.
Rachel was adorable here i feel bad she got hurt badly.

The names of the eps are fun, but I would recommend not reading them until your 2nd watch through. Back in the day, episodes didn’t have titles when they aired, so none of us knew they had clever names until they started releasing things on dvd.
There's a reason Ross is the most hated character like he has his good moments and good reasons but not all the time and he such a mamas boy well loved by both just spoiled and so whiny a baby.

Interestingly a lecturer at my university said a kid once did his dissertation on the homophobia in Friends and how there is a homophobic joke in every single Friends episode and how it mostly comes from Monica and is mostly directed at Chandler. I do love Friends, a lot hasn’t aged that well but it’s still a great show🤷🏼♂️
The show’s aged perfectly fine, people are just too sensitive these days. There’s also nothing homophobic anywhere in the series that I’m aware of.

That may be their opinion but they should remember it was the 90’s. Are they going to complain about every show made before now? Because they all “haven’t aged well” because they were made in a different age. Seems like a strange thing to complain about to me. If it’s a CURRENT show that makes more sense. Also, that’s a major exaggeration to say EVERY SINGLE episode had a joke about it.
Joey should have bought his tater tots and Phoebe could have just added her peas and onions in her plain mash potatoes like from the one Monica was already making the one with lumps for ross .
They may have not wanted their Thanksgiving to be like this but they should appreciate Monica for working hard.
They should have used full sentences like do you have the keys not got the keys that can be confusing like you asking or saying?
Monica definitely should have been responsible for having the keys like its mainly your apartment.
