Books as an important part of your decor is such a mood, I love that Those Virago books are STUNNING, definitely have my eye on a few of the classics I've been meaning to get to! I wish gorgeous paperbacks got more attention in general! like I would love to see more special editions in paperback format like this one Wow, those Ilona Andrews editions really are special! love that I really love the illustration style on those Vintage Classic editions with the red spines! I have a few of those and especially enjoy the Elizabeth von Arnim ones I have
So many gorgeous books but I really love that Heidi it's so cheerful. I'm also partial to anything cloth bound. And, that Murder on the Orient Express behind you is really gorgeous too!
Yes! I started collecting the Penguin clothbound classics after seeing your shelves. I read a lot of books from my local library but I’m trying to also build a personal library of the most beautiful editions of my favorite books.
I don't own a lot of books anymore, because I sold most of them. However, I'm slowly building a collection of classics, which also includes collecting the penguin clothbound classics. I own 3 so far. I've ordered some as a Christmas gift for myself but they are out of stock and will therefore take a while to arrive. In contrast to you, I don't like very bright colours. Out of the clothbounds which I've ordered, my favorites are Mrs. Dalloway and great Expectations. However, my two most beautiful books are the knickerbocker classics. One with the complete fiction of H.P. Lovecraft and one with the complete fiction of Shakespeare. I've ordered the that had the complete fiction of Poe too. Sadly, they are very hard to get in Germany, but I'm not planning on collecting all of them
I love your collections!! I think your copy of Don Quixote is especially great, and for me it’s the color scheme that sets it apart! Thanks for sharing this beautiful library with us!
I also really love clothbound books. I have a few of the penguin clothbound classics but my favourite collection at the moment is the Wordsworth Collector's editions (also clothbound).
Your Christie's fill my heart with joy!!! the Everymans are also surprisingly handsome, yes handsome and although I know you avoid them if you can I adore how adorable the MacMillan Collectors Library are (personally I don't think the format suits all the titles that they publish but when they do I just can't imagine owning them in any other edition) but for non-literary books I do love myself some doorstops from Taschen, all of them gorgeous
I tend to like covers with a more painted, rendered look, so I don't tend to like clothbound books, but the Puffin Hardcover Classics are cute (I think that's what the line is called?). I have a copy of Tarka the Otter and Call of the Wild from that line and I like how charming they look. Classics wise, I also really like the simple black + illustration design of the regular paperback Penguin classics. Oh and the Penguin Orange Collection ones are fun even though I tend to not like bright orange ha.
Thank you! I have links to the shelves in my description box and I do have a tour from about 18 months ago up, as well as some classics collection tours 😊... enjoy!!!
I love this video! A pretty book is one of my favourite types of art to own. Even though I'm not usually into poetry, I own the Everyman's Library Hallowe'en poetry collection (Poems Bewitched and Haunted) because 1) I love the jack-o-lantern pattern on the cover, and 2) under the dust jacket the book has a bright orange clothbound cover with a gold title. It's so nice to look at either way!
I love the Puffin in Bloom editions! Surprised they haven’t released The Secret Garden in that edition. I just ordered a Puffin Clothbound edition of it. Hoping it’s almost as nice as the Penguin Clothbound Classics 🤞 I love beautiful editions because I enjoy gazing at my bookshelves 😅
Does your folio society book not have illustrations? I thought they were all illustrated, although perhaps not older ones? I recently got a Folio Society copy of Crime Stories from the Strand and it has great illustrations. The cover is beautiful too!
I read mostly by audio, and people often ask me why I buy them if I am listening. I just love owning books I read. I dreamed of having a personal library ever since I was a kid haha.
I LOVE the stuff subterranean puts out, but it seems like all the ones I want sell out before I get to it. I have a few from grim oak press and they do the same with the matching numbers! Can't lie, I really hope this video catches the algorithm and everyone makes one. I love looking at beautiful books!
I got the Alice In Wonderland in the Clothbound version as that is my favourite Book . Not sure if I will get any more as they are quite pricey but at least I have one. I also have M.R. James Ghost Stories in the small light blue McMillan collection which are small with Gold edges.
I'm sure you already have it, but in terms of looks, the Museum edition of the Origin of Species, bound in this wonderful teal/petrol dark green with embossing is one of the most beautiful books there are. And of course the UK version of the illustrated 20th Anniversary A Song of Ice and Fire books.
My Folio editions are some of the pride of my collection. Like you,I have the Miss Marple collection (with colour illustrations); And then there were none (with lots of freaky charcoal illustrations throughout - I'm actually scared to read the damn thing!);Selected Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (possibly my favourite, with beautiful illustrations); :and The Red House Mystery (my Xmas Pressie for this year),complete with detailed map and floor plan of the house.
Recently I’ve been gravitating towards the Chiltern Publishing Editions, I confess they have become a weakness of mine to collect 🙈 they are just too pretty!
Love those Facsimile editions. I can’t find them now, but it would be amazing if they came back. Have you seen the Chiltern classics? I’ve been choosing between those and Penguin clothbound for my classics collection lately. Also, I agree! Books as decor wins my heart.
I love your collection, they're all so pretty and cohesive especially the Penguin clothbound classics. I agree with books being part of the decor, one of the best kinds tbh. My books aren't pretty, I switched to almost exclusively ebooks for a ton of reasons and getting physical books is just not possible for me anymore. Right now the prettiest book I have is Night Circus vintage classics edition, but I haven't read the book............ If I buy Winternight trilogy UK edition those will be the prettiest.
@@paperboundprotagonist I'll keep it in mind, I just prefer engrossing plot over most other things so Night Circus isn't a priority yet but since I bought it I'll probably read it.
They are really lovely. I wish I could collect books like that, but I already have a humongous amount of books in a small apartment, so I have no place for a special display. Plus, I have to admit, I am not interested in reading most of those books. I wish books that were not "literary" were equally as beautiful.
oh man, i had the WHOLE collection of those f scott books and i lost them when i moved and let me tell you i am DISTRAUGHT. i have some beautiful editions of james baldwin's works from the everyman's library that have beautiful cover designs with his photo on the cover, which i LOVE because the other editions of his works just aren't cute. i also love a really old, old book with some like vintage cover designs too.
They are pretty, but I'm such an e-book and paperback(mass market) girl. Why pay $30 or more when I can pay $10 or less? I'm a big used book, goodwill and yard sale book purchaser too.
Books as an important part of your decor is such a mood, I love that

So many beautiful books! 😍 But now I would really like to see your entire Agatha Christie collection.
I do actually have a video from the end of 2019 that is pretty up to date 🙌
yeeeees how did you know i was looking up where to get your copies of your gorgeous Agatha Christie books
I got you! 🙌
Beautiful books and beautiful earrings! 😍
Oooooh that Death on the Nile is SO PRETTY
I don't own a lot of books anymore, because I sold most of them. However, I'm slowly building a collection of classics, which also includes collecting the penguin clothbound classics. I own 3 so far. Great video. The shiny stuff is so awesome.
Your book collection is so beautiful 😍
That Death on the Nile edition is incredible. The colours 😍
Love this video! Beautiful books add to the experience.... and well they're so pretty LOL They brighten a room.
I follow SO MANY pretty booksellers on IG. One day I'll have a real library of my own 😩
Your collection is gorgeous.
I love a good book, but I really love a good and beautiful book! Beehive books and Juniper books have lovely editions as well.
I love the joy on your face as you talk about your beautiful books!
I do love them!!
😍😍😍

I love the Canterbury Classics editions, easily the prettiest books I own
This is the video we all need right now ✨
Had to leave in he middle to order Death on the Nile edition. BTW your eye and brow makeup make your eyes look stunning.
I love your Agatha Christie editions. Slowly building up my own . I got the Death on the Nile for Christmas and I am in love with .
Yay, it's so lovely!!
Beautiful earrings!!!!!!!
I definitely special ordered wolf hall and bring up the bodies in the new uk edition because the colors were just so pretty!
Your bookcases are beautiful where did you buy them. I would also love a bookshelves tour
Thank you! I have links to the shelves in my description box and I do have a tour from about 18 months ago up, as well as some classics collection tours 😊... enjoy!!!
@@bookslikewhoa thank you so much for answering I really love channel.
Rifle Paper Co. has my heart! They have such an adorable collection of Stationery.
I love this video! A pretty book is one of my favourite types of art to own. SAME -- it's such a joy to own beautiful books, even if I've already read them
Your books are truly beautiful! I have started collecting a few favorites in beautiful editions recently and love looking at them.
Enjoy!
I LOVE the stuff subterranean puts out, but it seems like all the ones I want sell out before I get to it. I have a few from grim oak press and they do the same with the matching numbers!

So lovely!!
I have to say , part of book collecting and reading is finding the beautiful editions. Hardly 'superficial'.
umpf, the books with foiling!
Recently I’ve been gravitating towards the Chiltern Publishing Editions, I confess they have become a weakness of mine to collect 🙈 they are just too pretty!

I did just get a couple of Chilterns... they are absolutely lovely!!
They are Beautiful. I saw someone else showing their copies from the Chiltern collection.

The Night Circus is amazing! It was the best book I read last year and I promise that you will love it if you give it a chance.

This was such an interesting video for you! Thank you, though! I really enjoyed this ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love folio society edition books and everymans library.
I died at “You’ve got the cutesy, different ways of killing people. ‘Coz it’s Marple.” 😂
haha, i bought that Fitzgerald collection on book depository like 5 years ago and have still only read the great gatsby
could you please do recommendations for a good redemption story possibly with romance? 🙏🏻
This video is making me want to spend all my money on pretty copies of books I already own!
They are really lovely. I wish I could collect books like that, but I already have a humongous amount of books in a small apartment, so I have no place for a special display. Are you reading ‘The Wife Upstairs’?
They are pretty, but I'm such an e-book and paperback(mass market) girl. Why pay $30 or more when I can pay $10 or less? I'm a big used book, goodwill and yard sale book purchaser too.
I am a library girl, apart from being a ebook girl
Very few e-books for me. The rest, however, we are in the same boat. Content matters not the physical aspect.
❤️
AGATHA CHRISTIE FACSIMILE STANS REPRESENT!
I’m an idiot for not commenting earlier. I was quite sidetracked lol
