Pat Macmillian collection is one of the most beautiful in modern books editions. The pastel color of the cover, artwork, cover desing inside, gold pages. Delicate, elegant and gorgeous
That Puffin Sense and Sensibility is the most beautiful of the books you chose. Of my collection, my Little Golden Books are my favorites. The old style of illustration is just precious to me
I am not sure which is the most beautiful book I currently own is, but I'd like to think the most beautiful book I will eventually own is the one with your picture on the dust jacket. Thank you for the video.
The Lost Spells is a beautiful book in all the ways a book should delight the soul. It's one of my favorite books. Thank you, Caroline, for another lovely video. ❤❤
The overall cover design, illustrations, visual appeal, the author & the specific book that one own's,truely adds so much joy to all avid book lovers.Love all your collections & thoughts on them. Much thanks & bestwishes.💐♾️🌸
What a wonderful idea for a video, Carolyn…thank you for sharing your beautiful editions! I also have the irresistible ‘white’ Rebecca edition. I have collected five of the six books that Marjolein Bastin has illustrated, which I love. The sixth, Little Women, I own in the Barbara Heller edition, along with Persuasion, both editions simple beauties, with all the ephemera.📚❤
A Movable Feast - as a kid I imagined it was story about a man on safari in Africa, being watched by hungry lions. And still whenever I hear that title that thought comes back to me. However, that illustration maybe wouldn't be so beautiful. . . .
Loved this video - book designs are so important, and sometimes they get overlooked! One of my favorite books is Rifle Paper & Co's edition of "Alice in Wonderland". The illustrations and the colors used makes me return to it again and again. I also have the Fitzgerald books that you showed (all 5) in the art deco design.
I love my Jane Eyre that is a Painted Harper Muse Edition, when my 14 year old daughter asked for a copy of Little Women I got her painted HM edition they’re stunning! Great video as always
That persuasion edition made me immediately look for it and get it! Persuasion is my favourite book from JA and honestly that edition is to swoon for ~ thank you for sharing! 🥺🙏
The Macmillan's are so beautiful! Have you checked out the Murakami Vintage Classics collectible editions? The covers are so beautiful and suit the style of his stories
I love book collections my favorites are the Penguin Deluxe Editions, the Ishiguro books by Faber & Faber, and the old Murakami vintage editions. I wish the new Murakami books would come in those collage editions. I also love the schocken Kafka Editions and the Pelican Shakespeare. I am not a fan of reading hard covers so I tend not to buy those but I agree the Clothbound for War and Peace is beautiful 😍
I just adore the Despereaux cover design, it's so perfect for the story 😊 also you can't go wrong with Caspar David Friedrich Most of the most beautiful books I own are oversize illustrated children's books though lol - I don't know if you know about Wil Huygen and Rien Poortvliet's "Gnomes" but that one's incredible
That edition of "Hamnet"! 😮 ❤ 📖 I just found a copy of "Lost Spells" at a 2nd-hand bookshop. Gorgeous illustrations. Have you seen the Vintage Russian Classics editions?!? I only have one so far, but they. Are. Beautiful. My favorite Puffin in Bloom is "Heidi". I read in over Christmas a few years ago. Favorite editions on my shelves include Folio, Easton Press, Penguin Clothbound and Persephone. I particularly like my Folio editions of Eugene Onegin and Rebecca. Also LOVE the look and feel of Everyman's and Pan-MacMillan Classics without the dust jackets! As a set, I like the look of British Library Crime Classics. Lots of bold jewel tones with a simple, consistent design. They look fab all lined up! Thank you for sharing your love of beautiful books! It is a love I deeply share.
I was lucky to hit up the Folio Society January sale and got Anna Karenina because of your enthusiasm for it. Mine has a slightly different spine design but is otherwise the same as your copy. I also got Doctor Zhivago, which is equally beautiful. By if I'm allowed a non-fiction book my most beautiful book is definitely the XXL-sized Taschen book World's Most Beautiful Libraries by Massimo Listri. The photography and the printing of the book are both stunning.
Beautiful books!!❤ You absolutely need to check out the Canterbury Leader-Bound Classics. You'd love it!! Especially their edition of Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman.
Oh, such beautiful books you have there! Yes, I am a sucker myself for gold foil😊 Love the Penguin Threads series, esp the one for Little Women, which I have been trying to find with no luck. Folio Society is on another level altogether. Have you seen their 100 Years of Solitude? The paintings in that edition really capture the story perfectly. The Macmillan Collector’s editions and Penguin Puffin Classics are some of the most beautiful. Have you seen Anna Bond’s edition of Alice in Wonderland? That’s probably my favorite of her books. I LOVE that you did an embroidered cover for Anne of Green Gables! I love how you did her braids. Have you tried getting it published in a book? I will need to check out your making of video😊
Hi Carolyn. Your collection is very cool; you have great taste in books. I have that same first edition of A Moveable Feast, probably from my college days. By the way, wasn't the Game of Tomes live show this week? I keep looking for the announcement but I must have misunderstood. Have a good weekend, everyone.
I finished sense and sensibility and just finished pride and prejudice and I love them. I’m now reading Mansfield park. The Macmillan collectors library edition :-)
Glad to see a lot of Jane Austin. Probably you'll like Sense and Sensibility less than the others, I found it less focused and veering in a lot of side dialogues between secondary for the plot characters but it's still Jane Austin in all her glory
Have you experienced the unfortunate result which happens when you actually spend time reading the beautiful Penguin clothbound editions? the designs begin to rub off with use?
I ask you to seek out "The Fellowship of Puzzle Makers" by Samuel Burr. A recent release here in the UK, beautiful pastel colours and a very good read. Not a classic i know but I think you would appreciate it. If you had a PO Box I would send you a copy. Enjoy your reading.
I've been re-reading my copy of The Grapes of Wrath, it's the 75th Anniversary Viking Press edition and I really love it's design which is the same as the first edition had. Also really love my Vintage Classics edition of War & Peace, with it's pale green and red design. Unfortunately my copy has been beat and bent to heck from being carried about in backpacks, but I'm still fond of it. Much prefer your copy of Anna Karenina to the one I have: mine (Penguin Deluxe) is the one with a picture of what is supposed to be (I think?) two bare shoulders, but all I can see is a butt with a flower growing out of it. Terrible, lol. Worse still it had that stupid plastic wrap that I didn't realize was part of it and ripped off, scratching it. Oops.
Hello from Russia! Now i read and reread Chekhov's stories because it can be read endlessly. I highly recommend you to keep reading Chekhov, he is a unique master of storytelling. If you need any advice on Chekhov, get in touch. Thank you so much for the video!
I’ve not seen you doing an unboxing of books you have received from followers. Don’t you do them any more? I’ve not seen your PO Box address lately either. Kind regards Claire B
I love when illustrators and designers explain their works, it makes us see things we might not have.
I couldn’t agree more 😊
The cover of a book can affect how much I love a book so much! So good covers are really important
Time for a coffee break from studying! 🤗
I hope you enjoy!! ☕️💖
After this I will take a study break, which means I'll take a break from UA-cam, stop procastinating and actually study 😅

Thank you for sharing. Some of those later editions are so beautiful. It makes me think I should stop focusing on purchasing first additions.
I love my Jane Eyre that is a Painted Harper Muse Edition, when my 14 year old daughter asked for a copy of Little Women I got her painted HM edition they’re stunning! Great video as always

Hi Carolyn, My favorite book cover is "Rebecca". I've always loved that story, and the monogram letter "R" looks so elegant, and Rich.
I've read 4 Austen's so far - Sense & Sensibility is my favourite!!

So glad! 💖📚✨

Sky blue is perhaps my favourite colour, I believe it's Levin's favourite colour too!😂
so excited
😊📚💖
Great stuff, Carolyn!
love this :)

Hi! Thank you :)
As of right now, the GoTomes live show should be held at some point this week! (The exact day is still being decided) 😌
My favorite covers are Rebecca's, and Emma's. They are stunning ! Also I love your embroidered cover of Anne of Green Gables 😊❤
So glad 🥰
You need the I capture the castle book in the Macmillan collector's edition❤❤❤
Do you have a video where you review the Kazuo Ishiguro's books?
I finished sense and sensibility and just finished pride and prejudice and I love them. I’m now reading Mansfield park. The Macmillan collectors library edition :-)
Amazing!!! I hope you enjoy Mansfield Park! (It’s the last Jane Austen novel I have yet to read 🥹📚💖)

God I love books 😂 Also, your needlework is stunning...are you self taught?
Mine is the strange library by Murakami

Thank you so much for the video!
Let's be honest, Anna Karenina is not about Anna. Parts with Anna are just plot breaks in between Levin's story.
You can actually make outfits based on these covers)
I’ve not seen you doing an unboxing of books you have received from followers. Don’t you do them any more? I’ve not seen your PO Box address lately either. Kind regards Claire B
early!
